Don't let the "all or nothing" mentality ruin your long term progress. If you screw up once, don't stress over it and get back on track the next day. I've lost count of the amount of times one little screw up (eating a "forbidden" food or going 5 calories over) led to an unplanned week long binge.

Based on personal experience, apple cider vinegar did nothing for my health or weight loss. The one time I tried it as an "acid reflux remedy," the heartburn became 10x worse.

Keep in mind there are plenty of unhealthy vegan junk foods out there that are no more healthier than a mcdonalds meal. Also speaking as a long term vegan myself, you've got to make sure you double your iron intake from foods, and supplement with B12. Otherwise, you do risk deficiencies which can negatively impact your…

Chocolate avocado pudding! It tastes just like store-bought chocolate pudding and it's very satisfying. I also like to have a few squares of dark chocolate with a handful of almonds everyday.

Continue working out. I find that if I work out, it decreases my appetite for a few hours afterwards which means less time spent thinking about food. Replace that boredom with an activity you like such as walking outside, talking to family, house cleaning...etc.

Yeah, there was no turning back since it was too late for a tuition refund. Looks like I should really stay out of nutrition related threads on mfp if I don't want to be getting hate.

There are six different synthetic hormones added to cows dairy in Canada. Now based on common sense, you really think that would have no implications on human health? Lol

Anxiety can be caused by a myriad of different problems including hormonal imbalances such as testosterone deficiency. A common symptom of it is anxiety. In the first link I posted, it does say that dairy decreases testosterone levels, which may play a factor in anxiety. I'm even speaking from experience as I've been…

Anxiety CAN indirectly be linked to hormonal disorders and imbalances amplified by the consumption of large amounts of dairy.

Warning: My opinion is based on things I've learned in holistic nutrition school, so take my advice with a grain of salt. Dairy is said to be "bad" for you because cows naturally release a lot of hormones in their milk during pregnancy. These hormones (estrogen and progesterone) eventually end up in a person's bloodstream…

Why not fit a serving of dessert in everyday so you don't end up craving, then binging? What works for me is having occasional high calorie days (once every 1-2 weeks) that are still limited so I don't go too overboard. For example, I had 2000 calories for my bday a few days ago, which is my high calorie limit, but enough…

As a former vegan, I didn't find it very difficult to find alternatives to protein rich foods, but I also became iron deficient despite taking an iron supplement. The problem with plant based (non-heme) iron, is that it's not as readily absorbed by the body as animal based (heme) iron. Another issue that may come up is DHA…

I'm studying at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. I am aware that this is not the best way to educate myself on Nutrition and I'm very aware of the difference between a dietitian and nutritionist. If I had the option, I definitely would've chosen to go the dietitian way, but I don't have that option right now. What…

Thank you for clearing a lot of things up. I have found some scientific data related to Leaky Gut and Candida, but couldn't find anything on Adrenal Fatigue Leaky gut: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28328972 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28342610 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28049662…

So far, the textbook they've based a lot of their information on is "The Basics of Nutrition" by Elson Haas. Unfortunately they don't give us access to powerpoints or lecture notes. They promote websites like pubmed which is good.. But then they also support people like Mercola :(

Did I ever say "scientific" theory? I'm just referring to a colloquial "theory" used in everyday day language and speculations.
