Isn't it odd that for some reason I want to watch the old "McCloud" TV show with all this mention of horses? I wonder if it was my 70's childhood that makes me associated a cowboy with "McCloud"?

Thanks guys. I feel a bit better, and like the old proverb "one day at a time".

I was definitely not eating too little: I made sure to eat between 1500 and 1800 calories a day, and I tried to genuinely have food I liked as opposed to the old 'Chicken everything' diet. The difference being having maybe one sandwich, not two: drinking Dr. Pepper as opposed to Coke Zero or water: and drinking a heck of a…

I think I'm going to join this: I "fell off the wagon" for the last month or so after getting back from a business trip. This is probably the kick in the *kitten* I need.

All this post has taught me is I need to inform my three daughters the world is filled with creeps, weirdos and the occasional normal human being. And not to trust any of the three.
-
Me either. However, I assume it's because I look sort of creepy with a beard, and what's the fun in bothering someone who also looks creepy?

Never to late for this group...(b4 50..lol) Give us an idea of your goals and challenges..[/quote] To liberally borrow from the suburbia as hell film "American Beauty", I want to look good naked. That being said, I'd like to lose about 30 pounds and see a jaw line again. Love the Lombardi quote, btw.
-
I love Queen as well: the live version of "Don't stop me now" is a go to on both my lists, to say nothing of stuff like "It's Late"
-
I have two playlists: one is very short and fast older punk (Ramones, Clash, Television, Replacements and so forth) that I use for cardio/jogging. I hate every second of jogging, and the faster songs make it feel like it's going by faster. I'd also add the Killers "Mr. Brightside" as a non-punk song that makes this list.…

Thanks everyone. To answer lorrpb i'm not too restrictive: I just try to adhere to calories in/calories out every day, although I do try to limit the amount of junk I eat. I guess I just needed a kick in the butt.
-
Thanks. I think the issue is I don't jump right back on to the diet the next day, and the ensuing guilt. But you're right: I'm probably just over thinking this, and just need to get back on track. The important thing is to get back on the wagon again, even if you fall off.

Not sure if I'm too late, but 44 here, with 30 pounds to lose. I need to get back to my focus as well.
-
I also am a soda addict. How I limit is by drinking only water at work (and a lot of it) and limiting my soda consumption to Coke Zero (which they changed recently, and not for the better. It's still better then Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi) at night. I also try to have no more then three glasses.

I'm late but I'm joining this. I work for a company that has a very locker room mentality where we often stop for drinks after work. I'm going to start declining these more often, and try to limit the business drinking to very special occasions/fellow workers leaving.

Keep up the great work and I FULLY understand what you mean. I never thought of myself as a 'big' guy, but I always hated (and still do!) how I look in photos. It feels incredibly vain to say but part of the reason I work out and count calories is simply to take a good photograph. Man I feel like a tool saying that, but it…

That was awesome. ScottyT is 35 and is a 'Animal Assessor' which allows him to accurately gauge avian moods and attitudes.

So, because I feel maybe someone shouldn't wear something inappropriate, but keep said thought to myself and refrain from commenting I'm not very nice? Thanks, thought police! And I can't attest to where you came from or what era you apparently grew up in, but if you have memories of people dressing very inappropriately…
-
I don't judge them, but leave that to my wife and her friends who are usually pretty brutal. I agree with you that they can wear what they like, but I do feel sometimes they maybe shouldn't. Then again, I'm an old man in my 40's and I understand that the 'culture' of body imagery has changed a great deal from when I was…

Fellow born in the 70's guy here. Happy Friday. Also "P90X3 Triometrics" = Done! By the way, I know it's only 30 minutes but I think I sweat the equivalent of 2 hours worth.
-
It's odd, but I just looked up a Tabata page and it kind of reminds me of the P90X3 activities!
-
Don't sweat it man: sometimes you need to vent. You can friend me if you want. I'm just getting started again (I'm about a week in) and I know it can be overwhelming. You got this.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm going to try more along the lines of 5 meals, and either way keep the caloric intake reasonable. My co-worker who follow it religiously is in great shape, so I'll give it a try. I was always more of a one meal/two meal a day guy, and generally I don't like eating at work. But...that hasn't…

Thanks guys. I'm going to try it out and I agree 100 percent on the cardio. I hate it as well, but it's pretty essential. I'm also someone who hates eating at work, so this is going to take some effort.
