  • So after thinking I might need another month to hit my June goal of 57kg, turns out I only needed to wait a week. • Congratulations everyone for your hard work and dedication this month! Even if you (like me) didn't reach your goal, accountability and understanding how to improve in the future is what matters. On to the July challenge! ** Original starting weight - 64.5kg (03/18) June starting weight - 58.9kg June goal - 57kg Ultimate…
  • I feel this on a visceral level. Claiming the same NSV, though! I did those squats (though my weakling self could only do them with a tiny fraction of the impressive weight you state). Can I say well done us? :)
  • Oh man this is so good to know, thank you so much for sharing that bit of info!
  • I'm not sure if this counts as an NSV but honestly I'm feeling so victorious I wanted to share -- I gathered up enough courage to enter the scary free weights section of my gym and have officially started a lifting programme! Week 1 is complete and I'm feeling awesome mentally and totally wiped (in a good way) physically!…
  • Forcing myself to post this so I can look at it later and be all "heck yes you kicked that bad week in the ***!". A lovely combination of TOM + starting to lift heavy + increasing calories in order to roll more smoothly into maintenance. This is the part of the "dieting" that has KO'd me in the past. This time I will…
  • So it seems my June starting weight was holiday water weight, as it has all fallen off quite suddenly. I'm fine with that :) ** Original starting weight - 64.5kg (03/18) June starting weight - 58.9kg June goal - 57kg Ultimate goal - 55kg June 09 - 59.1kg June 16 - 57.6kg June 23 - June 30 - Total loss for June - 1.5kg
  • I'm very late but enjoyed the May challenge and will jump in now and see what I can achieve for June! Was happy to be able to maintain (+/-) over a holiday, and even happier to find how excited I am to get back on track. Keep at it, everyone! ** Original starting weight - 64.5kg (03/18) June starting weight - 58.9kg June…

  • Hit my goal! And my first plateau... oscillating between 58.7 - 59kg for 6 days now. I was waiting for it to happen at some point as I knew my loss was a bit "too good to be true", but the mental power of sustaining through a plateau is really draining. Habit building has been working, though. I'll get through it! **…
  • Updated. Loss has slowed down a bit, but I was hoping for more (as in hoping for less loss). Still pushing myself to up the calories without trashing the habit-building I've been doing around food. ** Original starting weight - 64.5kg (03/18) May starting weight - 61.8kg May goal - 59kg Ultimate goal - 55kg May 1st -…
  • Hopefully this challenge can help me start to narrow off my weight loss into maintenance by the end of August. Right now I'm working hard to build up my eating habits so they are sustainable in the long term, let's see if the big picture can help! MFP Starting Weight: 64.5kg (03/2018) Challenge Starting Weight: 61.7kg MAY…
  • To lose weight in a sustainable way it will be slower to get to your goal, but you will be able to deal better with plateaus and small changes, and will be able to maintain your new weight goal without so much difficulty. If we take your stats (age 23, 5'8", moderate activity) then your TDEE is 2225 (calculated here). This…
  • Good point and my mistake there, I misunderstood something earlier. Let’s say I retract that but stand by the rest~ I think the reality is that most people starting out wildly underestimate the calories they are consuming and as they tighten that up they can then also tighten up their calorie goal to something more…
  • It is hard, but as you work on it and figure out the foods you enjoy eating that fit into your new plan it does get easier. There is also a lot of support on this forum and there are successful people who eat in a variety of different ways (vegan, people who like to have high-volume meals, etc) so you can definitely find…
  • Being active is good & healthy, but for weight loss what really matters most is the calorie deficit. If I were you I'd keep up with the treadmill and moving about, but focus most on making sure you aren't underestimating your calorie intake.
  • I am down to 59kg now and it's been slow but steady by following the points I said. The hardest part is patience for me, but I know that the final result with be worth it both by being the weight I want to be and (more importantly I think) by learning how to feed myself in a way that works for my body.
  • Hi! I thought I would comment because I am in a very similar position to you (starting weight 63kg goal weight about 55kg). I've had some success this time after some failed attempts so maybe I can help. My biggest mistake (and when I didn't see progress for months at a time) was when I was not carefully logging food. For…
  • Second update! Loss is a bit steep right now but I'm trying to overhaul both what I eat and how I think about food, so adjustments will slow down later in the month I expect. So impressed with the community here by the way -- so many strong people supporting each other! ** Original starting weight - 64.5kg (03/18) May…
  • Been on & off MFP for years, but this is my first time posting in the forum. Just want to force myself to be publicly accountable. Good luck everyone~ ** Original starting weight - 64.5kg (03/18) May starting weight - 61.8kg May goal - 59kg Ultimate goal - 55kg May 1st - 61.8kg May 8th - May 15th - May 22nd - May 29th -…
