I actually found that accounting for half the calories that MFP gives me for exercise was fairly accurate when I calculated my TDEE after the second month of tracking.

I eat at maintenance often 1-2 days a week, usually to allow a couple of extra glasses of wine. I've lost 20 lbs in 13 weeks eating this way. It makes it much easier to continue long-term this way.

Female - base is 1200 but eat half exercise calories which averages around 1700 total.

I've hit the 20lb loss mark today and not really seeing the difference either. I'm sure there must be though. I wish I'd taken pics. I've had one friend comment so maybe others are noticing. I hope I get some other comments to help me feel like I do look different.

I love a glass of wine and like you OP I struggle stopping at 1. Not because I want the buzz, I do love the taste and crave more. I don't drink on weekdays anymore (unless I've had a stressful day then do just limit to one) and have a couple of drinks on the weekend when my exercise calories are higher. I miss it though…

I actually think my other circuit class would be more like a HIIT class, at least elements of it. Today for example we did intervals of 40 seconds strength then 5 intervals of cardio for 20 secs each with 5 seconds rest between. Im an Aussie living in London now and the number of people who've said they could never come to Aus because of the spiders is crazy! If that's keeping you from visiting peeps, don't let it worry you. You see them sure, but I don't know anyone who's been bitten badly by a spider. Little ones sure, but not the baddies.

Day 15 done! I did 40+ weighted lunges and 25 push-ups in a pump class today and I don't know how many weighted squats. I just did a few extra of each tonight as my legs were already killing me.

I had 6 days off as we were away with a big group. I had planned to keep it going, but it just got too tricky. I did the squats as they're easy to do anywhere, but not the others. Just done Day 11 so will continue from there.

You can get some apple spritzer drinks that taste a bit like a cider. When i was pregnant I drank lemon lime & a tiny dash of bitters. That's very refreshing.

I just checked the time my Zumba class was logged and adjusted it, and it took off 200 calories so that works well. Glad I asked.

That's really interesting! So I need to make sure I put the right time when I log exercise in MFP so it overrides the steps. I calculated my TDEE using a formula I'd seen over the past 4 weeks & it worked out almost exactly what my Garmin had when I averaged out the previous 28 days.

I agree with the above. I have one day a week when I eat at maintenance. Sure I lose more slowly this way but I'm more likely to keep going if I can have that little bit extra (and my favourite treats) on the weekend. I feel this is now something I can do long-term. Remember it's not a race to lose, it's a long-term thing.
