Saturday Check-in Slowing down. I just can't muster the care to keep pushing. I think part of it is that challenge I joined pushing me to do bigger workouts, which is 1) aggravating my body/issues/injuries, and 2) messing with my appetite levels, as it runs into higher heart rate territories. This is part of the reason I'd…

Current Weight: 185.0 Weekly change: -2.2 Cumulative change (Month/Quarter/Year): -12.1/-12.1/-12.1 This week's successes:* Strength training 2x * Walking * Kept fighting the war. * Got past 20% of the estimated weight loss needed to reach my goal. This week's challenges:* Really tempting to just stop. Need to keep…

Thank you. I'm still kind of waffling on hitting the brakes, but might try to finish this week up and then time my break with my worst week of the month. And make it a mini-break, where I will still get a small walk and/or weight lifting in, but closer to minimum than full throttle. A solution I've also come up with is…

Don't want to derail the thread, but needed to post, so I decided to make a blog post. It is relevant to my posts here, so I thought I'd drop the link to it for your reference. https://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/MelodiousMermaid/view/need-to-get-out-of-my-head-977945 Hope everyone's week is going well.

I'm sure it's been mentioned before on here, but nobody had ever told me that in losing weight, one can look totally different (in a negative way) at the same weight as "before" (such as major milestones -- high school weight, pre-special-event weight, etc.). Logically, I understand it, as my body composition is different.…

Just finally (a month later than hoped for) broke into what I call vanilla obesity (the last 5 points before overweight). Such a relief to meet this marker. Next goal: Overweight BMI. I know it's not the greatest marker overall, but it's something. About 27 pounds to go.

Saturday Check-In Got a nice little whoosh this week, which helped a bit to push forward. Fighting for every bit of it, though. Have been forcing myself to eat most of the week, but have been able to get it done since I know I'd probably be fighting the other kind of intake battle if I didn't. I find myself regretting…

I recently bit the bullet and invested in a VA4 myself. Still figuring out some of the stuff, but overall, I feel it was a solid investment. I hope you enjoy yours!

I also have a dress that I loved and am keeping. Since it was a longer dress at size 24W, I'm hoping I'll be able to get a new dress, or barring that, a dressy clothing article, out of it. I've decided it will be either my 2- or 3-year "happy maintenance-versary" gift to myself, depending on how long it takes to feel like…

If I had to pick one, I'd go with Bragg's Liquid Aminos. Umami flavor that is so versatile. We don't keep soy sauce in the house anymore now that we have it, too.

I'll second @tcunbeliever on calorie cycling, as I try to look at overall caloric intake on a weekly basis and having one or more high days really helps break up the monotony, in my experience. I also have recently started dabbling in macro cycling, as I'm looking for a better workout on heavy lifting days. I haven't done…

Not sure where you've got fats in the equation, but I have tried higher protein with very low carbs. Make sure to get your essential fatty acids. I supplement EPA/DHA fish oils regardless of where I'm landing in a day for fat intake now. Additionally, electrolyte management is something you need to understand, as it is…

Saturday Check-In So I went ahead and cut to the chase on the arms/hands thing I've had going on and went to an ortho. I am pending an MRI and ...EMG...? Don't recall what it was, but it will test to see where I'm getting interference in my nerves. Got a small cyclical hormonal boost this week, but it is nothing compared…

High Weight/Stats: 252.0 pounds, 5'1" F Challenge Starting Weight: 197.1 Goal: 21.5% body fat (currently estimated around 140) Current Weight: 190.7 Weekly change: -1.8 Cumulative change (Month/Quarter/Year): -6.4/-6.4/-6.4 This week's successes:* Stuck to my intake goals * Strength training 2x * Walking This week's…

Saturday Check-in This week went somewhat better overall, but there are some definite hurdles I have to dodge as I go forward. I'm not sure of what they all mean for me either. I missed my rowing and practice goals. Practicing was due to a very busy week out of the home and just being out of gas by the time I'm able to…

Starting weight: 197.1 pounds (HSW: 252, MFP restart: 242.7) 5'1" F Goal: 21.5% body fat (currently estimated at 140) Current weight: 192.5 Total challenge weight lost: 4.6 This week's successes: Staying in deficit. This week's challenges: Functioning. I'm dealing with a flare-up of both physical and mental health issues.…

Saturday Check-in Well, this first week back in deficit did not go to plan, but it has been reasonably OK, all things considered. I ended up missing my exercise commitment. There were two days in the last week where I only practiced. However, I did meet all other commitments and goals. I am giving myself today and tomorrow…

@AmethystEFC : I really recommend you look at it in the light of your own abilities. You have made a few MAJOR milestones, and it is not ridiculous to be emotional over those things, in my opinion. 1) You're doing LAND Zumba. Regardless of how you feel you're doing in respect to others, gravity is a beast. 2) You've been…

@mnwalkingqueen Fat-free plain Greek yogurt is the thing that's made this whole thing work for me, if I'm honest. I use it to make dips/sauces/salad dressing, add "sour cream" flavor effect, as a base with frozen wild blueberries for a light meal, as a base for chicken/tuna salads, with my curry-inspired chicken, to make…
-
@mnwalkingqueen I have done a fair bit of crockpot cooking, but have not cooked fish with one as of yet. If you try it/find advice elsewhere, could you check back in here? I'd be curious to see how it goes. Do you like skipjack (canned "light tuna") or plain, fat-free Greek yogurt (on its own or as an alternative for sour…

I'm not sure I have 52 pounds of fat that I want/need to lose at this point, but I'm close enough that I'm going to call myself "in." Starting weight: 197.1 pounds (HSW: 252, MFP restart: 242.7) 5'1" F Goal: 21.5% body fat (currently estimated at 140-145) Current weight: 197.1 Total challenge weight lost: 0.0 This week's…

I'd be in for another 8-12 weeks. Maybe a countdown to spring? Either way, gotta keep chipping away...

Saturday check-in (Better late than never?) Well, my trend line is slowing to a crawl, and my 7-day rolling average has, for the first time since starting to track in September, stalled and even gone up. My weekly weigh-in has me up a total of 0.7 pounds, so considering the sheer volume of food, combined with the…

Here's my take, based on my own experiences and what I've learned from reading up. Unless you need to do otherwise (such as if you find it overly psychologically taxing), daily weigh-ins after waking up and using the bathroom are the way to go. Especially so if you are a woman who is not in peri-/menopause or with a…

Well folks, it's been a good challenge. Goal met, though the trend line is holding at 200.32 today (maybe it'll dip below 200 tomorrow). I've now been below 200 for 11 days on the scale, and the rolling average (7-day) is 195.8. My body did not end up releasing all of the held water this last week. The recorded drop is…

I can see most of the standard stuff, but cannot see my profile, and my news feed is broken. I can see my friends. I have checked this in both the app and website, and have done the standard clearing of the cache, etc. and no change. On the up side, I can now see all my meals/foods for the diary. Wish it would stop being…

Saturday check-in Water retention. Public enemy #1 right now, IMO. Somewhere between 6-8 pounds, by my calculations (not sure if maybe I've gained some muscle, but there's no way THAT much is muscle). I'm not sure if I'll see my total fat loss weight before I refeed and go on maintenance break. It's really frustrating, but…

Still kind of digesting the post you gave me, Ann, but wanted to chime in. The towel idea @aokoye had was a winner for at least getting me through for now. I still have some mild discomfort on longer rows (starts in the later part of the hour), but it is nowhere near the horrid discomfort bordering pain from the wet…

I'm still holding on to somewhere around 4 pounds of water weight (or something?) by my estimates, but maybe some of that is a little muscle growth? Either way, I am glad to say that I've hit Onederland and my goal for the challenge. My rolling average is also below 200 now, and the trend line is holding out at 202.85, but…
