  • Yes, but so does fish, seafood, seaweed, and free range/outdoor eggs, amongst other things. Whilst chromium can be found in: Whole grains, brown rice, mushrooms, brewer's yeast, beef, beer, chicken, calves' liver, cheese, eggs, fish, game, lamb, seafood, corn, potatoes, dairy products, and most fresh vegetables and herbs.
  • I make sure that I have iodine in my diet to support my dodgy thyroid, and chromium for blood sugar regulation. You should be able to get those things from good nutrition rather than from a supplement though, because your body will absorb them better from food
  • Love my Garmin Vivofit. The battery has lasted for nearly 2 years now, no problems. It does sync with MFP as well, and WW app. And it's way cheaper than Fitbit...

  • I'd go and have a look at a Basal Metabolic Rate calculator, which tells you how many calories your body uses just being alive. Then knock a couple of hundred calories off the figure it gives you, and go with that for your daily limit. Make sure you log any exercise you do, and eat about half of the calories you earn. You…
  • I've been trying to cut down on carbs/sugar off all types, including bread (which I adore too) because it does seem to 'feed' the inflammation more than any other food group for me. I have a terrible sweet tooth, so it's quite hard, but does work - my costochondritis especially is a lot better when I have less processed…
  • I have a two year old German Shepherd who is very very keen on the 'more exercise' theory :D
  • I lost my mum to cancer quite a few years ago. She wanted me to get healthy too, she was a WW veteran though, and I tried that many times. Just couldn't get on with it though. I'm finding MFP much better, and hoping that I can fulfill this part of her wish for my life now. I already worked really hard for 6 years to finish…
  • I'm trying to quit smoking and lose weight at the same time. Probably not the best way of doing it, but I'm an all or nothing kinda gal, so the aim is 'healthy' rather than a specific weight loss goal. I'm vaping too, so hoping that a gradual decrease in nicotine will be easier that way. Especially as I'm horribly allergic…
  • I have 4 to 5 stone to lose, would love some UK buddies to share support and motivation. I've used MFP before, but knacked my back and let it all slide back :( So I've a new profile (don't want to see that graph of 3 stone sneaking back on!) and I'm going for it again!
  • Hi guys, I'm living on the bottom edge of N Yorkshire, within stones throwing distance of W Yorkshire and Lancashire. Fabulous place for walking, once I get my fitness back up again!
  • I should add, I have about a third of my body weight to shed - 4.5 stone, so I'm going to be here for a while! Happy for anyone to add me as a friend!
  • I have hypermobility syndrome, chronic costochondritis, osteoarthritis in my spine, hands, knees, feet, a dodgy thyroid, and dyspraxia. Chronic fatigue is much better since I took control of the thyroid treatment for myself, but I still have a fair amount of pain at any given time. I'm currently trying to quit smoking and…
