  • 2600m Pretty slow but glad to get a swim in before Thanksgiving.
  • Thanks! Maybe one of those brands will go on sale for Black Friday. (Online only--there is no way I am braving Black Friday shopping.)
  • 1900m. It felt like a slog to get through. My rhythm felt off and I could tell my arms were entering too wide. I was slow, too.
  • About 4000m. My counting system failed so I am not sure of exact numbers. I am hoping to get a black Friday deal on a Garmin.
  • 1200m. Slow.
  • 1950. Heater was broken. Brrr.
  • 2000m Thurs 3300m today. I did a tough but rewarding set of a free pyramid of 100, 200, 300, 400, 400, 300, 200,100 with each 100 on the 2:00. And an extra 30 sec rest after the first 400.
  • 1300. Not really feeling it, but loving the time change for morning swimming since my body's internal clock thinks it is 6 am and not 5 am.
  • 1700m. Slow as molasses.

  • 2000m. I really wanted to do a 2000 so I stayed in the water too long. I got to work with about 10 seconds to spare, wet hair under a layer of dry hair on top, and goggle rings around my eyes. But I did a 2000. :)

  • 1700m today (Fri). I swam Monday. Then the pool was unexpectedly closed Tuesday and then I was lazy Wed and Thurs and skipped it. I had a high-stress week and had bad stress headaches most of the week. After finally getting back in the water today, I realized that the stress headaches and lack of swimming directly related.
  • 1400 yesterday 2050 today
  • 1500m today 1250 yesterday 1200? Monday
  • 5100m. Makes up for setting my alarm for 4:59 yesterday, hittting snooze, and deciding I was too tired to swim. :/
  • 1400. I got up a tiny bit earlier but had to be at work much earlier. I get up at 5:10 but I need to back it up earlier until I'm seeing a 4 on the alarm clock.
  • 1700m. Had to go to work :( I have got to get myself up earlier so I can swim longer. I have tried to swim after work and I hated it--crowded and loud and I was already tired.
  • 5050 m. I wanted to increase what I swam last week but another 50 was all I could handle.
  • 1800 today. @ryenday They should have given you and all participants standing ovations as you finished! Maybe there will be some way to give some feedback to the organizers. Still, you did something awesome both with raising money and with completing the swim. I can relate to what you said about the fruit-- about once a…
  • @ryenday was this the event you've been training for? How was it? Great pic!
  • My only exercise is swimming and I am losing weight. I know that on paper all you need to lose weight is a calorie deficit. But in reality I need to exercise to lose weight because exercise controls my appetite and cravings. Swimming is one of the few exercises I enjoy, and I really love it. Keep swimming and don't pay…
  • Thanks @gentlygently . I did 5x200 IMs, the first fly I've attempted in a while. I tried slo-mo fly and I think it helped because it forced me to mainrain my technique, and technique is crucial in fly since I can't overcome a poor stroke by powering through. It wasn't an easy set but I did it.
  • 5000m today. That is the most I've ever done as an adult. My plan was to do 3200 including a set of 5×200 IMs. I did that and decided to get to 3500. Then I decided to get to 4000. It kept going like that. It was one of those rare times when I was into it both physically and mentally. I am very appreciative of this thread…
  • Lose another 10 pounds, which will put me at 128 and only 3 pounds above my goal. That will be losing .8 pounds a week, which has been my rate since starting 3 months ago. My dream goal is 118, and I want to hit that by the end of June, which will be 1 year from when I started.
  • I learned to love the chlorine smell. Seriously. I love catching a whiff of it after I wash my hands. (I only smell it on my skin later in the day if my skin gets wet.) It makes me feel happy because swimming makes me feel happy and calm.
  • 1650 and no more dizziness!
