I decide on grocery day what I'll eat for the week so I have an idea what's going to go on during the week as far as my food. I pre-log my food each morning. When I was doing my best, if I went off track, I would go back in and log what I ate when I got off track. I also logged my weight in each morning. That was giving me…

I'm 55, had a hysterectomy 2 years ago, have two jobs where I sit at a desk, I'm super sedentary, and don't exercise. I started out at 207 pounds and lost 48 pounds in six months counting my calories. I was so happy. I was very dedicated to sticking with it and had a goal of my nephews wedding to go to and didn't want to…

Pretty much any drink. I don't drink my calories :) I like to eat them. And I love water, thank goodness.

I started at 207 and am down to 159 with no exercise, so I lost 48 pounds just counting calories. But I'm stalling out. I'm not counting as closely as I used to though, too. Just kinda coasting along at 159 to 162 in a holding pattern deciding if I'm going to start exercising or get serious about cutting my calories again.

Learn to like steamed veggies with nothing on them. I love them. Just get bags of frozen vegetables, microwave them and eat them for snacks and with your meals. I eat a lot of broccoli for around 40 calories each time I eat a good portion. Baked chicken breast and lots of baked salmon for me does the trick on keeping me…

48 pounds just by calorie counting - no exercise.

Agree with the unsweetened cashew milk - very low calorie - 25/cup I believe. I buy the Silk brand.

Bless your heart! I had a complete hysterectomy and both ovaries removed. I wasn't hungry after surgery for a long time, too, which was so great. I dropped a lot of weight. That encouraged me to keep going, and I've lost 46 pounds just counting calories. So you can do it!! Best of luck.

I buy bags of steam-in-the-bag vegetables. You can have a lot for few calories. Broccoli, cauliflower - love them all steamed with nothing added. Cheese stick with a piece of ham or turkey, steam up some zucchini that lasts a couple of days for snack for a cup and a half. Super low in calories - 35 calories or so.…

Best of luck, Karla! I'm at 1,200 calories a week. I'm short at 5'1/2" and sedentary. I'm 54 and started at 207 pounds and down to 166 pounds so far with MFP. I strive for 1,200 calories a day and usually go over with a few Wheat Thins that tide me over :) I don't exercise, which would help, but I'm losing nicely and am…
