Does MFP calculations take into account what you would normally walk in a day? When i wear my fitbit it logs X amount of steps calculating in at 300 calories burnt. Now this is not exercise it is just normal daily activity. Should this be counted as extra calories that i should eat back or is it already in the MFP…

Started at 380 in July 2017, I am currently down to 219. I looked up my calorie intake at a healthy weight on the TDEE website (which is around 2000-2200 calories). That is what i have tried to eat. I also tried to get a half hour of exercise 3-4 days a week which mainly was walking with the odd day of rowing. This has…

From what i understand the body keeps the fat around all the vital organs the longest. It is the last place for me to lose as well but progress is progress. Do not stop, you will lose in your abdomen area.

Thank you for writing such an eloquent and thoughtful post. It is almost as if you were in my head. I am not yet at maintenance but have binged and binged hard, showing me that it could be an easy slip back into my old habits which would take me right back to where i was before. I have it in my head that CICO is my life…

I eat around 1600-2000 calories per day. I lowered the number from my true maintenance total a while back due to how much weight i had lost. Being that i am still 35 lbs overweight i believe that as long as i am eating those calories (for proper nutrients) then my body can pull the extra fuel from my fat. It seems to be…

Yesterday i snacked while cooking supper. After supper I was really tempted but did not have my normal evening snacks. It was tough and i really had to fight the urge! Success.

My daughter and i got to ride the roller coasters this year! Would not have been able to do that 1 year ago. Its awesome.

I finally hit under 225. Things are definitely slowing down but i am learning that any progress is great. I thought that my BMI at 185 was going to be ridiculously low but i can still see in my torso that i have lots to go. For those people that get discouraged because of slow or no loss, please keep on your plan and do…

I started MFP July 10 of last year. I have gone from 380 to 225.1 in that time. I chose to eat 2200 calories per day as this is the amount i would need to consume (at a healthy weight). I tried to add some sort of exercise for 30 minutes 5 days a week such as taking a walk or using a rowing machine.

I do not do low carb. I have lost 155 over the last 14 months with only eating in my calorie allotment.

I am currently trying the P90 Beachbody. It looks to be well rounded for a beginner like me. I am only 1 week in but it sure gets my heart rate up and i can feel it in my muscles.

Use this website to get a figure on the calories you should consume to either lose weight, maintain or bulk up (https://tdeecalculator.net/). It is just one tool you can use just like MFP. I started at 380 lbs and am now down to 226 since July 10th of last year with it mostly being CICO. I weigh my food, drink lots of…

My scale, that reads BMI, weight, fat % etc. is saying i am no longer OBESE!! The charts and MPF say that i am not, so within the next 5 pounds it will be official.

That the devil on your shoulder is still active even after 1 year and 20 days of logging everything and eating in your calorie amount! That damn devil had my poor angel bound and gagged last night.... I binged on all my old vices last night watching TV like i had never lost a beat. JUNK FOOD.... ughh. It is only one night,…

You can buy a belt that you cut to length, in the part that bites into the buckle. The end where the holes usually are has a built in backing for the mechanism. I have been cutting the length off as i go. You can shrink it down to the insert if you wanted to.

Grabbed a slice!! The old me would have eaten almost a pizza to myself. I also work at a place that always has snacks or junk brought in. I have been able to keep from eating any because it does not fit into my eating plan for the day. It gets tough sometimes but it is also eye opening to me realizing how much more i did…

Yep, apparently I was packing some extra lbs around the circumference of my scalp because my favourite hat sits loosely on my ears now instead of snuggly above! Gotta get to a hat store and get some sizing pads or pick a new one.

Started out 07-10-2017 at 380lbs. I am currently at 245lbs. I eat 2000-2200 calories ( this # is my maintenance amount for my ideal bmi as recommended by TDEE). I added walking for a half hour a day and the occasional exercise like rowing or dumbbells. My key is logging consistently and weighing my food.

Congratulations, your hard work shows! May I ask if you know what your body fat % is? I am changing my tactics from dropping lbs to dropping fat % and gaining muscle mass. I hope to have a similar look that you have achieved!
-
My initial goal is to get to 220. I know what I looked like then and knew I could trim from there. I’m at 245 now and I’m going to get a body fat calliper tool. I want to start measuring my fat % and work at that instead of weight. I think the BMI chart will have me looking lanky and gaunt at 6’ tall and 170 lbs. Need to…
