  • Don't get so hung up on the calories of one item. You just need to make sure they fit within your CICO numbers. Avocados are good for you and quite satisfying to everyone I know who eats them. I wish I liked them, but I don't. Theoretically, you can sit there and eat an entire pizza and a bag of potato chips as long as…
  • Nope. They're just a waste of money. If you want to detox, eat right - little to no processed, junk or fast food - and drink plenty of water and get walking.
  • It's a hit and miss on a daily basis. You just have to keep watching your numbers and find what works for you and what you like to eat. Everyone has different tastes, needs and combinations of food. My diary is open if you would like to see how I do it. Basically, I eat what I want - while eating at a calorie deficit. And…
  • LOL If anyone says they have NEVER done this, I will call them liars. Seriously though, No One is Perfect. We all do that. The part where you are honest about it and log it OR choose to lie to ourselves and not log it is were the real problem is. Next time, get your one serving and put then rest away. If you see…
  • Are you properly weighing your foods and logging them accurately? I wouldn't weigh at the gym. You'll never get accurate numbers. Invest in a scale for home and weigh yourself in the mornings, shortly after waking up and on the same day each week. Then you should start seeing a consistency.
  • Yeah, don't sweat it. Probably water gain. Higher sodium could be the culprit if you ate higher than normal salt-laden foods this past week. I know I did and 'gained' 2 lbs. Drink plenty of water and help flush the sodium out and try to not eat as much sodium heavy foods. You'll be fine.
  • Honestly, that is a very unhealthy diet. Only 750 calories is insane. Why would any doctor prescribe such an unhealthy route?
  • and ^^^^ what they said ^^^^
  • Get a new doctor. No one loses 1 lb a day and sustains it. It isn't medically sound.
  • Don't use them. Get walking and stay within your calories and keep to a low sodium intake.
  • He's training? It's an ongoing bet with someone? He likes to show off?
  • You don't have to. You can be an *kitten* about it OR you can make it an opportunity to maybe help someone else with weight loss. Maybe they're just curious. I always tell them if they ask. But, I don't offer the information. I mean, seriously. You're an adult, I assume. Make an adult decision about it.

  • I want to lose 60 lbs in a month and win the lottery. But, not realistic. And it doesn't matter if you are vegetarian, vegan or whatever. Now, if you weigh over 400 lbs, you might be able to, but you need to provide some numbers to us like height, current weight, etc, we might be able to help you figure out a healthy…
  • ^^^^ This! ^^^^ Personally, I wouldn't have this 'cheat day', especially if you are not logging it. If you want foods you would only have on your cheat day, FIT THEM INTO YOUR DAILY ROUTINE. If they don't fit into your numbers, adjust your day or wait until the next day.
  • I use things like BBQ, Teriyaki, General Tao's sauces in my meals. I get the bottles of them and use them whenever I desire a particular flavor. I get low cal-lower sodium when possible. But, they do wonders for having something different. You can also make pestos. There are a lot of different things you can do to make…
  • Today's weight check: 219.3 Total loss since start in this challenge: 15.7 lbs
  • From what you just showed... nothing wrong. Work on core exercises. That will help tone your midsection.
  • Congratulations! That's the way to do it!!
  • My glucose monitor has been my friend. There are many reasons a glucose reading will be high - beyond food intake. But, if used properly, it can help you along the way. Try not eating carbs too late in the evening. Stick to fats and proteins for dinner and evening snack, if you have one. Do you know about the Glycemic…
  • Atkins bars. When I crave sweets or my normal candy bar, I go to an Atkins bar. They have a wonderful sweet taste to them. Chocolate. Caramel. Nuts. Etc. There are many different ones out there. They are net carbs of 0 to 4 or 5 and made with sugar alcohol which has little to no effect on one's blood sugar. I am diabetic.…
  • I refuse to accept being overweight. I also refuse to abuse anyone because they are -- especially myself. Fat-shaming is wrong, period. Refusing to see that being fat, overweight is not healthy is also wrong. I have some other opinions on this, but will probably piss off the sensitives who are reading. And I'm going out…

  • Weighed Wednesday: 221 Total loss since start in this challenge: 14 lbs
  • Watch movies while you do it. I watch Amazon Prime when I walk indoors. Sometimes I listen to music or audiobooks as well. That's what I'm doing today. We have cold and rain.
  • You don't need a gym. Just get out and walk. If the weather is bad, walk inside. Put a movie on or your favorite music or even a youtube video to watch and just walk inside. Calorie deficit is for weight loss. Eat less calories than you burn. I am on Fitbit as well. I do challenges all the time. If you need motivation,…
  • Sent you message and friend request. I was diagnosed in August this year. I have follow up in the morning. You can lose 100 lbs. Realistically, lose slow and steady. Exercising is great. Walking is all the exercise I have done and have lost 44.8 lbs since June/July time frame. My diary is open and I would be happy to help…
  • My go-to appliances are the stove top and my slow cooker and a knife.
  • It's just a preferred time for some and hated by others. I can workout any time - unless I'm working - then I still get some walking in. I find I actually have more energy after a workout in the mornings.
  • The fresh air. The sun. The vitamin D from the sun. How can one NOT want to walk outdoors. I walk indoors too, but when I can get out, I get out. It's the best every. Your body needs the air and the sun to feel better and work properly. The treadmill is great, for when you can't get out.
  • I drink a minimum of 64 ounces (half gallon) a day. I drink more as I am thirsty. I seldom get a gallon of just water. But, I also drink other things throughout the day. As long as you are getting what your body needs daily, that's the important thing.
