Hello all. I just started seeing a Nutritionist last night and she basically told me what I already know. Cut back on sugar, starches and exercise. 'm about 35 lbs overweight and also pre-diabetic. My biggest issue is craving sweets after lunch and dinner. Does anyone have any tips to reduce the sweet cravings? I would love to hear all suggestions. Thank you!

Atkins bars. When I crave sweets or my normal candy bar, I go to an Atkins bar. They have a wonderful sweet taste to them. Chocolate. Caramel. Nuts. Etc. There are many different ones out there. They are net carbs of 0 to 4 or 5 and made with sugar alcohol which has little to no effect on one's blood sugar. I am diabetic. I was retested on Wednesday and now I am in the pre-diabetic range. I went from 6.8 to 5.7 in the A1C. It was easy for me because of my determination to do. Though mentally there were times I just didn't care anymore. Get to walking. Get your calorie intake lower than your calories burned and find those substitutes for the things you love.2
