Excellent suggestions! I have IExit on my iPhone so I can see what's available at the exits. Hubby ABSOLUTELY will not drive far from an exit for anything. I need to do my research and plan my bathroom breaks accordingly. I don't know how he can go most of the day without a bathroom break.

WOW! That's impressive, but pretty fast! How are you feeling? Are you doing ok?

I think it's an excellent article. I'm almost 68 and had a 30+ lb weight gain following an injury and subsequent surgery. I had lots of muscle atrophy and my fat percentage is 39%. My BMI was only something like 25.4, but the fat percentage was astounding. I felt a bit encouraged by the article in that I can regain some…

My gastro dr recommended Miralax. He said it is not harmful to use everyday. I also have the same issue with fiber.

I 2nd the Boardwalk fries from Ocean City,Md. YUM!

I'm also a beer lover and I don't give it up. However, I drink MIchelob Ultra Light (95 calories). Yeah, I know - a watered down version. :( I love all the foods you mentioned, especially cream cheese and cheez-its. I can eat a whole block of cream cheese and chips in one sitting. Having it on bagels or toast is awesome…

I also do this. Sync my phone first with Fitbit. Then I open my MFP app. I click on the exercise tab first on MFP, which seems to transfer the step/exercise info from Fitbit.

Regarding myself - My Dr. knows of my multivitamin. He also recommends D3 for those who don't get the recommended amount of sunlight. Myself - I do not take D3 all year, though I continue with my multivitamin.

This. It is the closest thing in taste to cow's milk that I've found. I purchase the Almond Breeze brand.

I'm a fan of EBay. I'm retired now, but when I was still working in the business world, I was promoted and needed an array of ladies business clothing. I was able to get beautiful suits for $25. or less. The descriptions on the clothing items usually specify the measurements of the garment.

I don't have anything to add to the wisdom in these posts, except another, "Stay safe - and Thank you."

I am not keto, though I restrict my carbs to 80 or less, because I am pre-diabetic. I was never much of a sweets eater, but I loved and craved carbs in the form of salty snacks (chips, cheez-its, - even toast). Restricting my carbs has helped not only in my glucose numbers, but also in that I don't crave those items very…

V8, something salty and/or greasy.

Spaghetti squash for me too. I put pasta sauce over it. At first I missed the pasta, but now I like the spaghetti squash better.

Good for you in planning for your convalescence. I tore my rotator cuff in September, 2016, having surgery in January of this year. Before my surgery, I was still pretty optimistic, mostly walking, but unable to do what activities I was accustomed to doing (paddle sports, swimming, golfing, biking). My weight crept up a…

Awesome! Superb! :)

You are already an inspiration to me, Princess. I will be following your journey. You can do this!

I take a multivitamin/mineral and Vitamin D3. I am considering magnesium.

Thank you msjennigirl. That's exactly what I meant, but sadly rather clumsily expressed myself. Many, many folks do not have health insurance or the co-pays for treatment are outrageous. Some health insurances do not cover counseling, but I think more are doing so. I had occasion to see a counselor several years ago. My…

You're doing great - awesome, in fact. Hang in there. You can do this. - PS - Not really sure about that cheat meal, though. You can negate a lot of your calorie progress. Think about it.

Thank you Spliner. I don't intend to give up. This particular elliptical kills me. A different type of elliptical, not so much. I can manage the other cardio machines, but this one (to me) is a killer. My program will be done in 4 weeks, so I must make as much progress as I can.

I thought I would resurrect this thread following my original post at the end of 4 weeks. Starting weight: 154.6 Starting BMI: 25.7 Current weight:146.6 BMI: 24.2 Don't know what my fat percentage is - was 39 Still almost 68 I can now do 10 minutes on the elliptical at Level 3 - still a struggle. Despite the accreditations…

I've done with cheez-its too. LOVE them. They are definitely a binge food for me.

Almost sounds like gas to me. I would try an anti-gas remedy. Are you drinking a lot of carbonated drinks, chewing gum, drinking through a straw, smoking? Those are gas causing things. Even vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli can cause gas issues.

I currently have a Fitbit Alta (no HR), but I wear it very loosely- to my wrist bone. How tight do you have to wear the HRMs in order to record? I fear if it had to be snug, I wouldn't care for it.

We spend our winters in Florida and always buy bottled water. To me, it has a funky taste.

I wish you well. I am in my 7th month following surgery for a torn rotator cuff.

This article is SUPERB! I loved it. Thanks so much.

I do not eat Keto, but I eat low carb because I am prediabetic. I try to keep my carbs under 75 grams, but sometimes I go over. I don't think it's helping me to lose any more weight because I'm not truly keto, so bottom line is I'm counting calories. However, restricting my carbs has helped me to not crave them. I went…

have the exact same problem. I have found that if I allow myself to even taste a potato chip or piece of candy (anything not "healthy") I crave more of it This is me. I was going to limit myself to one freshly baked chocolate chip cookie. I had saved calories for one cookie. Once I got that taste, I ate 6 of them. I was…
