Daily morning after using the loo and wearing only my boxers.

I use diet sodas to help me feel full.

Nope. False info. You burn calories even while sleeping. To gain weight, eat more calories than you burn. Calorie dense foods can help you achieve that if you struggle to eat more.
-
The deficit doesnt work instantly. The results should be seen averaged over longer periods (4-6 weeks imo). If logging is accurate, the weight gain is due to water. For eg. I ate at maintenance yesterday and my weight is up 2 pounds since yesterday morning. I know this is water weight and i will lose this within a week.

Sounds like you have it all planned. Good luck!

Google fit logs 7500steps for me on average (daily living, grocery shopping, etc. No intentional exercise). I lose weight commensurate with MFP setting 'active'.
-
Good thread. Im in my last 10lbs of weight loss, this is useful.

Make sure your apple watch is not synced to mfp if you are manually logging exercise as well. Basically, dont double count. Im sure you arent, just checking.
-
Yes as long as youre eating above 1200kcal a day net.

If you have accurate calorie intake, actual weight loss and exercise burn data for your 6 months, you can get a pretty good estimate of your NEAT and TDEE (total daily energy expenditure - includes all activity) 67lbs in 6 months is 11lbs a month. Which is a deficit of 1283kcal below TDEE daily on average. So calculate…

Yes.

Full fat dairy, nuts, oils, bananas and occasional 'junk'

Yes you will. If your activity level (non exercise daily chores, work movement etc) is low, 1500 (net after deducting intentional exercise) sounds good to me. If its high, you could eat a bit more. After 4 weeks track your actual weight loss and readjust.

Very normal. Keep doing what youre doing.

There are many people who have lost weight without counting macros but only counting calories.
-
Bananas and banana shakes are awesome for bulking
-
Calories are not macronutrients. You are setting yourself up for failure by eating too little.

I peed a lot

Log your intentional exercise manually. Make your daily activity (chores, office work, playing with kids etc) as part of activity level setting. This is optimal for 2 reasons: 1. It ensures you dont double count any activity. 2. There will be days you dont do your intentional workouts. If those are a part of your activity…

Too low salt also causes low blood pressure. Normal water retention is healthy. Our body is 70pc water after all.

Its called a stall. Its normal, after my first 2 weeks of loss i stalled for 18 days before weight loss resumed. You are still losing fat, but retaining water so overall weight doesnt drop. Once that water goes, you will see the drop. Be patient. Also you have only 10-15lbs to lose. Change your goals to lose only 0.5-1lb a…

The days i breathe i end up eating at least 1000kcal in a day.
-
What mfp gives me is pretty much accurate. 2700 for 5'11 male 30yrs. Activity level closer to 'active'
-
Didnt log for 10 days while i was out of city for work. No gym, sedentary activity level. Im back home today - Half a pound loss, and am expecting some water loss tomorrow.
-
My personal anecdotal experience suggests that this is correct. I average 7500 steps a day and my weight loss has corresponded to activity level 'active'

Brilliant post. Wish more could read it.

In short, if you eat more fat you burn that fat. If you eat more carbs you burn those carbs. The amount of body fat burned remains same in both cases if calorie intake is the same. So calorie in calorie out is all that matters for weight loss. Keto gives some flu, headaches, etc and is more restrictive than CICO deficit…

Yes, sl5x5 should be great for preserving lbm. It will definitely make you strong in all the main lifts. Do keep protein intake high and try to keep the calorie deficit at less than 20% of tdee . I consider a session of sl5x5 burns 250kcal and log it manually (not a part of activity level). Sl5x5 shouldnt be too hard…

Weigh yourself in the morning after the daily rituals for the next week or so and if the weight it still up by a lot and you dont like how you look you could consider a cut. Tbh you look great in your profile pic.
