  • @CMorning99 that appointment sounds awful! @quilteryoyo glad you got your MRI results and there isn't anything too scary, though doesn't help figure things out. Day 2 of shift. So far the weekend had been OK. Only had 9 patients all shift, got to watch a movie - the eyes of Tammy Faye. I am NOT religious in any way, it was…
  • @shanaber that sounds positive! I hope your arm heals fast with all the exercise.
  • Am back at work. I have to take things slowly or I get really breathless and get chest pains. I'm working evenings this weekend, and ED has been very nice to me. The nurses are really helping with bringing me patients etc. I have to go very very slow. So far my first night has been fine. Thinking of you all.
  • Morning all. Well woke up with mild chest pains. Sigh. So cements I over did it yesterday. My best friend, who is a GP, was very unimpressed with me haha. I got a very stern talking to. So nothing strenuous till the end of the month. Then I can slowly get back into things. Not even allowed to strength train. I'm allowed to…
  • Well good news. I heard from the race organisers and they have kindly agreed to defer my entry till next year. 3rd times a charm eh. I'll really want to run it then.. Feedback from work mates is I'm an idiot to be running, especially as I had chest pains... So I am going to listen to wisdom and not run for a month. I don't…
  • @shanaber hugs. I've been told I need to give more time before I start running again, but I got through today an honestly i need the mental release running gives me. So I get it. I hope things improve fast for you.
  • Well some good news, I was able to defer my HM entry till next year! Yay. I'll go along and cheer on the other runners, and have a great girls weekend away with my mum
  • @quilteryoyo it was very helpful. Others at work have said it took them a month to get back to normal
  • Hey all. Today is my first day back at work after basically 2 weeks off for covid. My rapid test today is finally negative! I'm actually looking forward to going back today, nothing like forced boredom eh. And I'm starting with admin today which is good because I have to catch up with my students. We have had others go…
  • Hey guys. I'm back after covid struck. Went for a run yesterday, managed 15 mins. Today I did 18! So my goal is to build back up. Those who've had covid, any tips on recovery. Sadly it hit in the middle of my training for HM in June, and honestly I don't think I'll be able to do it now. I'm seriously thinking of dropping…
  • Hey guys. Popping in again. @swenson19 I thought the anniversary must be coming up soon. I agree, do something with DD that's for you two. Love the hitchhikers reference. I really need to read that series again. I'm back from covid land. It really hit hard. I had weakness and fatigue for over a week. The weakness was…
  • @shanaber yeah the whole family got it. Our girls friend who lives across the street got it Thursday week ago. Jessica and Katie were at my mums for Easter weekend, and Katie started getting a runny nose on Monday. Tested her Tuesday, positive. My mum tested positive on Tuesday as well (symptomatic by then) Tested Jessica…
  • Hey guys. Update. As some of you kn, I got covid. And it's hitting me like a tonne of bricks. So bed it is. Hasn't affected my appetite though haha. Still can taste. Damn it. I'll be back soon I'm sure.
  • I'm still just ticking over. Trying to get back to thing. Weight seems to be holding steady. I'm hardly weighing and not tracking at all. Honestly I feel much better for it. I get so obsessed when tracking and all I think about is food. I do get times atm when I'm like, I need to lose a couple of kg just so clothing fit…
  • @swenson19 so sorry about your husbands elbow! That's a decent fracture.
  • Hey all. I think im finally gettoback to my normal. Today was the first day I've been able to complete a training run as planned. I've had to cut all others short. It's OK, early days. So 9.6k this morning.
  • Morning all. Its a cool start to the day today down here 7C or 44F. I'm up early to RD Parkrun, then will be doing 5k at intended HM pace. I'm a little nervous for it because it's been a while since I've done this pace. Looking forward to the run though
  • Morning all! Muscles have recovered enough that I did a tempo run this morning. Yay. I woke up early and didn't feel like running. But kept thinking I never regret a run, and I didn't. It is a lovely cool morning, great to get out again. Calf is good and muscles were OK. I'm on call tonight so not sure what I'm going to do…
  • @eleanorhawkins he's very upset with me atm. I didn't do the first 2 days, hen only 4.5k of 8 on my first run back. Was supposed to do a tempo run this morning but skipped cause I was really tired and all my muscles are so sore from yesterday's workout Oh well.
  • @runs_on_espresso welcome back. Glad the meds are helping! @shanaber I'll check out the video when I get home. Yes I'll be making a cake again, it's my bliss lol. She keeps changing her mind. First it was Pikachu, now it's a cat. She has one more week to decide before I have to get stuff for it lol. Took today as a rest…
  • Hey guys. Been absent since I climbed the mountain as my left calf injury flared up and I decided to stop running until it was pain free for a week. And that day was last Saturday. I went for a 5k run Saturday, then again on Monday and so far calf is behaving. A few moments of tightness but is better. Today I started the…
  • Hey all. Well we've had some crazy days. About 1.5 weeks ago on Thursday DH saw a mortgage advisor about borrowing to build. Turns out we are about 80k short for what we want to do. We can build but it won't be the house we want. His advice was to buy an investment property, rent it out and build the equity we need that…
  • @CMorning99 I'm so sorry to hear grey cat is sick. Hopefully he comes right. I can see how that would see your stress through the roof!
  • Hey guys. Been Mia because it took a while to recover from the mountain summit. Then I had a LOT of work. So many call outs. I was exhausted. I'm back. Hope everyone is OK. I see @shanaber is having bicep issues. I'm sorry to hear that. And some crazy weather for @swenson19 My left calf is playing up again so no running…
  • Thanks @quilteryoyo and @CMorning99 I've got all sorts of aches and pains, mostly DOMS. oh im going to be really sore tomorrow, it usually takes a day to really kick in. Mostly my quads and lats. Probably from the climbing haha. I have work today, angio so mostly sit down do nothing kind of work. That's a relief. I'm on…
  • Hey guys! I achieved my March Goal!! I made it up, and down the mountain!! Going up was awesome, I loved it. The climbing was great and I would absolutely do it again. Going down... Another story. Its really steep with lots of rocks and loose stones. And the soles came off my hiking boots about 1/3 of the way down. This…

  • Oh and I'm an aunt!! My brother had his first child today. Baby is in NICU atm but will be OK. Mum is recovering. Long labour that ended in csect. They are in Australia, so it will be a while before I get to meet her. Its very cool!
  • Hey all. I'll go back and read. I took a few days off for mental health. Ate everything and felt like garbage. Never want to do that again. Weight naturally went up a bit but am back on the wagon without too much trouble today so that's a relief. Ended up 4 days off. 7 days in the row of work was my ultimate undoing. I go…
  • @quilteryoyo I had something similar when I pregnant with DD7. It was a spiky thing sticking out of my belly button. I finally pulled it out. So gross haha. @CMorning99 sad to hear Grey is declining. Hopefully it's something temporary and he will bounce back? Hugs. Yesterday I decided to make a conscious choice to take a…
