Well this is a great start to the day, ran for 1hr and 1 minute (garmin be weird sometimes), which was 8k! And ran the whole way with 99% execution! Fantastic feeling! And then off to work in ED (A and E for Americans, I think?)

Ahhhh I blinked abd a week passed! Still here, still going lol. Basically took a week of due to travel and being tired lol. Have started a garmin programme to improve fitness for 16 weeks. Ends right before my next overseas trip so that's good timing This morning was a 41min run. It was hard but I did it!

Thanks all. I ended up getting an earlier flight. And got a hotel room with a bath. Currently sitting in said bath at 1pm - bliss!

Morning all. Went to park run this morning and got my years PB! 34:29 woo hoo. So am on track to get back to 30 minutes. It was a good run too, tail wind will the turn around then a head wind but I managed a good burst of speed at 4k mark. And it was really nice being at parkrun with all the cheers etc. Love it so much

Hey all! Missed a few days with being on call and then a late shift. Hope everyone is well. Still running but haven't done any pilates for a few days... All the excuses haha. Tomorrow. Today I went out for a 34 min slow run and half way through it started raining, hard. I got absolutely drenched and my shoes were twice as…

Well up and out the door for a 4.5k run. Feel like it's coming back, maybe I have lost everything. My slow pace is currently 7:40min/km not the 6 I was doing a few years ago but with time and dedication... I was going back through old posts to see how I did it the first time, and I have to keep reminding myself it's slow…

Omg @quilteryoyo that's such a great idea. And cancer in a 3m old. My heart is breaking

Morning all. Yeah no desert before dinner is ingrained! Also means when I buy lunch it's something savory and a sweet! Trying to fruit these days. And yes no chocolate before noon, unless it's Christmas haha 5k today. Was attempting a tempo run and my pace is definitely faster but ran out of steam 2/3 of the way through so…

Thanks for all the well wishes. Still feeling like something brewing but so far my ignoring it is working. Pilates session this morning. Turns out I can sit from laying without using my knees or hands, it's something about my pilates machine. The carriage is a bit short - which says something cause I'm short! So I can do…

Hey all. Nothing much to report today. Worked shift last night (3-11pm) and today is WET! so I chickened out of a run because I can feel a cold coming on. I am sick of being sick. I feel like I've been sick every month for the last 6 months. So decided to tidy up my project area, officially put away my masters and got out…

Had a good sleep but motivation for anything. Work tonight and lots of baking today so didn't want to get all worn out haha. Will run tomorrow.

Sorry for your loss @daria0919

Morning all. Was on call again last night and despite just one call out, I'm dragging this morning. May go for a walk later but plan is to just chill.
-
Morning all. Well I managed my first goal of the month, 5k ran! 39.19 so on the slow side, but I did it. So I guess my goal is to run 5k each week and slowly get faster. I'm aiming for a 30min 5k - which will probably take a few months to get there. No pilates today, and am on call again tonight
-
Nothing for me. Was on call and got 3hrs sleep, and still had to go to work. Decided relaxing was more important than exercise this morning.
-
Morning. "fast" 4k for me this morning. Felt really good this morning, and enjoyed being out early. I'm doing alternate days pilates and running. So rest day for my abs haha
-
@ContraryMaryMary aww it's so cool having strava. I rarely look at it these days but may look again now I'm getting back to basics lol. Yay for clearance to run, that's brilliant. I'm impressed you get so much time in your garden! It must be looking amazing, I remember when you were about to move it. @quilteryoyo hey! Oh I…

Thanks guys! It's great to be back. So part of my issues the last couple of years has been several injuries. Between my calf from a few years ago, I've also sprained my upper back twice and then did my lower back good and proper about 3 months ago. So I have bought a reformer and am adding pilates to my routine. This…

Hey guys. Well it's probably been a couple of years since I last posted and I so glad to see so many regulars still here! I've missed you all so much and have thought of you a lot over the time. Life has been insane for me. This year alone I organised a conference for people in my profession, published two scientific…

Concert got cancelled at the literal last minute. Its been raining, and the rain got so heavy that there was flooding everywhere. Even the venue was becoming a lake. So they had to cancel. Driving back to the hotel took about an hour (we were only about 2 miles from the venue) because of so much surface flooding. I went to…

Hey all I'm doing Hal intermediate 1. I was going to do the novice plan but it was too easy. I'm training for a HM at the moment nd of the June, so right now it's just base building. Lots of hill repeats and tempo runs etc. Loving it. Though not looking forward to the hills this morning! I'm looking forward to this…

Hey Hugs @shanaber for needing surgery. It looks like a challenging one. I basically took this week off. Wasn't able to run as I was with the kids alone for the rest of the week, and my calf muscles were so sore after the hike I wasn't able to anyway. So finally got out today for. 6.5k run. I've started a Hal Higdon plan.…

Non running day today, instead a big hike to a local tarn that is a beautiful reflecting spot for our mountain. I managed an almost perfect postcard picture To think In March last year I made it to the summit of that mountain! Today was about 2600 feet of vert. Not running lol but the first 2hrs my heart rate was at a…

So i decided I needed a diet break foe a day yesterday. I just ate what I wanted, tracked for an idea but not stress about it. It was almost 3 weeks of deficit eating and I was feeling a bit blah. And I ate some pretty high calorie stuff I would normally not have. It was nice having the break and reminded me why I'm doing…

@quilteryoyo oh I may not have posted here. He got a job in June, executive officer for Bowls Taranaki. Bowls being a sport. And taranaki being our region.

@shanaber sorry I should have been clearer, I have a mirena IUD which has the wonderful side effect, if you are lucky, of reducing or even stopping your periods. I'm only 40 so yeah hopefully not perimenopausal yet. I love your goals. @runs_on_espresso awww I've been following you too. Insta can be such a good place to be.…

I ran a 6k sprint session today and it felt amazing. And I think my VO2 max is finally on the upward trend - it was 48 in April when I got covid. I'm feeling fantastic. Its such a good feeling to be on the improvement. Tomorrow is a long run. And I'm really looking forward to it. I'm finding the joy of running again.

Hugs @runs_on_espresso many of us are in that same boat. I'm 19 days into sticking to it, after hitting half way into the weight loss I originally had. I nearly cried. @shanaber I hope the rains ease. We finally have summer back! I'm doing well overall. Have had a stall this week. Not worried because I did some strength…
