Work and life have gotten in the way the last few days but I got out today after work. We got a lovely cold front so it was in the upper 60's at 5pm!! So nice! I had a time trial workout on the plan and it was short so I added a couple more miles at the end.
I'm going to have to start waking up earlier to get some of these runs done before work. It's so hard for me to find motivation after work. So even though I really don't want to wake up even earlier, I think that's preferable to not running at all orissing runs every week.8 -

@daria0919 I think it is so cool you dreamed you were running a race you couldn’t run. And I totally would have picked up my t-shirt too! In 2020 the race organisers mailed me and everyone else who had pre-ordered a Hannover half marathon T-Shirt. I felt like an imposter wearing it (even though the race didn’t even take place), just because I wasn’t planning on running the race anyways, as I had just had a baby. Until I was officially training to run the race again I didn’t feel comfortable wearing it. Now it’s one of my favourites and I’ll wear it anytime
.
I finally saw my friend, who is also a PT, about my calf. We didn’t have much time, but she taped it and I’ll have to see if that takes off some of the pressure. Tomorrow, I leave for Vienna for a day and then I’ll travel from there further to Bratislava for a week for work. I was really hoping to get some nice runs in, but I tried to run again today on the treadmill and I had the same level of pain, as when I hurt my calf, so I had to stop immediately. Cross training on the elliptical was ok though. I hope that the hotel has a bike or something else I can use for cross training in their gym or I will probably have no exercise all week. Sigh.
It makes me sad that I can’t run at the moment, but I know I will really appreciate it when I can again!

Morning all.
Went to park run this morning and got my years PB! 34:29 woo hoo. So am on track to get back to 30 minutes. It was a good run too, tail wind will the turn around then a head wind but I managed a good burst of speed at 4k mark.
And it was really nice being at parkrun with all the cheers etc. Love it so much9 -

Didn’t run yesterday because winter has arrived and we got hail & snow showers all day. When I got up this morning my foot didn’t feel too bad so I thought yea it’s getting better & went out for a run but no it’s still aching but slightly less. The hail had melted away with the sun and being along the coast but the forecast is bad again until Sunday. If it’s half a decent day I’ll try running again tomorrow . I really want to hit the 50 miles

I did the planned drill workout today. This is the first run I've done that was on the plan in a couple of weeks. I guess Jeff is happy.
I did the cadence drills (30s/30s run/walk at 7.0/4.0 mph) and the glides (6.0/4.0 mph). The rest of the run was mostly 5.0/4.0 mph for 2/1 min. At the end, I ran 3 min at 5.0 and 1 min at 6.0 mph. Avg pace was 12:24 min/mile. Avg HR was 122 with a max of 148 bpm.

I 3.15 miles this morning. I took a vacation day today so I slept in and didn't get out to run until about 9:00. It was perfect running weather. It was cool at 47°F, but it was sunny and just a perfect start to the day.

Well winter is here. It's been -10c/14f all week and lots of snow. My planned 21k mountain trail run is on hold for the weekend with yesterday and today's snow dump. Had about 9 inches so far. Will be better off with snowshoes for that. Will just do that around town today but I suspect the pavements won't be much better as the snow is still falling. Neck is doing much better now. I can at least turn it lol. No more dramatic batman turns.

Welcome! It's never too late to join in the fun! If you want to set a goal for the remainder of the month, you can or you can just be thinking about what your goal will be for next month. It doesn't have to be a mileage goal (or k goal). It can be a time commitment or a number of runs - whatever you think would challenge you. We will be here to encourage and cheer you on!
@kizzibillet This is indeed a running group, but some of us do a run/walk or just walking. Feel free to join us with a walking goal, if that is something that you can do.

I hsve got joint pains ...in my knees especially. Walking runnibg climbing stairs for 5-10mins... lots of pain. I need a friend to speak with me daily while I try to do 20mins yoga pilates and easy HITTS. Just a frirnd to push me daily and of course I will do the same3 -

This morning I ran the YWCA 5K Turkey Trot. Needed a bit of a longer run today so we ran 5 miles before the 8:00 am start. When we finished our 5 miles we ended up on the wrong side of the train tracks – literally. The train was sitting on the tracks and the race started on the other side! We only had minutes to spare so we climbed up onto the railcars and over to the other side. This is one of my favorite races. It’s small and for such a good cause. This year’s race was dedicated to Alyssa Lokits who was killed while running in Nashville last month. I won’t put the sad details of her death here but you can google it. It drizzled rain all morning, before and after the race and the temp was 39F so a bit chilly.
Although men can run the race, they only have awards for the females so as you can imagine not many men run it. I think I saw three running it this morning. Well did 16.5k in snowy freezing snowing conditions. -12c/10f. Sure is pretty though.
Took me a long long long time as some parts with 6 inches of snow on the ground I was just walking/sliding/snowplowing. Hands froze, glove wetted out from inside, need better warmer waterproof gloves. Going to try out a mitten/glove combo tomorrow. Never happier to see a snow plow on the pavement. Character building. Didn't quit! Just did my best.

I did my Magic Half Mile workout on the treadmill this morning. I walked 10:02 min each for warm up and cool down. I ran/walked 3.0 miles at 4.5/4.0 mph (varying times at each pace to keep my HR down), ran half mile fast (6.0/5.0 - avg pace of 10:30 min/mile), ran 4.5/4.0 for another 0.5 miles and then walked 10:02 min. Avg HR pace for the wuns was 13:30 min/mile. Avg HR was 124 with a max of 162 bpm.
It was a struggle today, both to get started and running. But, I'm glad I got it done. Like the saying goes, the only run you regret is the one you didn't do.6 -

Logging 2 runs. Yesterday was just easy miles after work. I went to the trail in my neighborhood.
This morning I went to the spring Creek trail for my long run. It was chilly this morning so it was pretty quiet when I got there. Bikers aren't keen on being out in the cold. By the hallway point it was warming up a bit and I started seeing more bikes and people.
Garmin was happy with my workouts yesterday and today. It's also telling me I need more sleep so I'll probably head to bed early tonight.
After running I took my kid for some driving lessons and we worked on laying a floor on the back porch. Got a lot done today! I'll need to try to rest a bit more tomorrow.8 -
