That is a great way to think about it.

Me and my noble steed.

Didn't know there were individual groups, good to know this is focused on people with similar journeys to me. I have around 50kg to lose but trying to focus on the non scale victories to keep me motivated. Initial goal is buttoning my jeans without bursting blood vessels and 5km on my bike.

Scotsman in Yorkshire here, short term goal is buttoning up my jeans, long term about 50kg.

Not able to keep up with my little boy who is only two and have another one on the way, always been heavy but it never really held me back. Getting older I can start to feel it affecting my joints so need to do something about it now.

I have been on both sides of this and didn't really understand the struggle, my wife has been trying to lose weight on and off for years and I have been the one eating excessive amounts of bad food. Now I'm trying to lose weight and while nowhere near as bad as I was she is eating unhealthy food and I do find it a struggle…

I would eat fast food almost everyday sometimes 2 or 3 times especially when working as I spend a lot of the day driving. I try to take healthier options with me but I think the biggest help is not carrying money with me, I have a credit card for emergencies but I don't carry any cash or bank cards. I'm about 4 weeks in…

My original post mentioned going out for lunch, if I go out for lunch or dinner in future I will try and choose the healthiest option on the menu or as suggested don't have a full portion.

I have known for a long time that I needed to lose weight and not being able to keep up with my 2 year old son was a big part. I signed up for a group and a month down the line and over a stone lighter I am fully motivated and have no interest in stopping. It just seems to have clicked.

Things have changed massively even since I was a teenager and I'm only 32, peer pressure used to be a local thing but with technology and social media it's relentless. Even though many of these kids dress and act a lot older than their years they are still only kids. It's the cyber bullying that terrifies me and my son is…

Scotsman in Yorkshire, feel free to add me :)

I think that goes for most men and their wife, or so I'm told repeatedly. If she just left it in the middle of the floor I would know exactly where it was. I can sympathise with kids lol

Thanks for all the replies, seems most of you have the same thoughts about not letting everyone know. I will just choose better in future and eat a good portion size.

I guess I just need to look harder at the menu for the best options and try and make it up with exercise.

Tried a few times in the past and hasn't worked, been going 4 weeks now and think the penny has dropped. I want to be fit more than I want to eat rubbish but it's still a close call sometimes. Good Luck
