What would a lesser deficit, for example, 400/day mean? Only slower progression or something else?
-
Also, how substantial should the cut be? Meaning how many calories should I be in a deficit?

I am male, I can't say what my BF% is as I have no way of measuring it. Though if I had to estimate, I'd say my muscle base is as beginner level as it gets. Wasn't muscular before I lost the weight, and I lost even more muscle during my weight loss, so I'm pretty much at the very start...

The previous medical condition isn't directly related to the shoulder, so I haven't worsened it. I'll try pacing myself better, any tips for that?
-
I see many question about form and I should have added that a start that I do have poor posture (rounded shoulder) while I'm not running too (due to a medical condition I had). I also follow the couch to 5k program, so going to fast shouldn't be a problem... I tried running a day after the major pain occurred and the pain…

Hey there, thinking of doing a recomp after losing a lot of weight, but not sure if I'm at a good enough weight yet and I also have a few questions. I'm currently at 182lbs (6'2 tall) and would consider myself skinny fat. Would it be okay for me to start a recomp? If so, should I eat at maintenance or a slight deficit? How…

I tried deodorant (the roll-on type) today for a short run and although it wasn't that hot, it seemed to do the job fine. My thighs weren't sweating, but I did feel slight friction from the deodorant layer itself...

Thank you for the positive replies! I guess I will have to book another appointment with the doctor, though I hate how she pins every issue I have on either weight loss, overworking while exercising or stress. Literally everything...
-
I'll definitely try that, thanks

Foam roll? What is that?
-
Not intentionally, though I may be, but I am working on fixing my diet atm
-
I used to do bodyweight training every once in a while back then (but I still got soreness after it), but I am trying to do it consistently 2-3 times a week now for the last two months and I still get just as sore as I did before...

Nope, no low carb
-
I don't take any supplements, and I don't think I actually get enough protein, but I am working on fixing this now
-
Nope, slowly trying to get myself into building some muscle mass, but have to fix my diet first...
-
Nope, I have been exercising for a few years, just said I am getting back into it more seriously. I always do warm up and do stretches pre and post workout so that won't be the case
-
No, no meds
-
Honestly, it might be the deficit. I don't log my food anymore (since I am not losing weight atm), but I do feel like I am not eating too much (so maybe I might be eating too little)

My school sadly doesn't have a gym, so that isn't an option...

5 eggs in the morning with full grain bread, oatmeal + greek yoghurt + some fruits between breakfast and lunch, i don't cook lunch on my own so I can't really control that (have no option to cook), then usually some chicken breast salami or roasted chicken breasts in the evening with full grain bread

0.8g per lbs of mass and I am a solid 50g away...

I have a torn hip tendon. The thing is, I'd like to do the cardio at home, since I have to drive to the gym three times a week anyway... I guess I'll have to try something, though elliptical would be it but is too painful

The 150 minutes is strength training + cardio?

Hey there, am an 18 year old currently in my senior year of high school (gymnasium). While I have lost quite a lot of weight in the past, an injury has made me gain some of it back, so I am starting again (although with much less to lose). Usually don't have much trouble with motivation, but when it becomes difficult, it…

I have been to 9 P/T sessions, and while some advice was helpful (they really do know a lot), the therapy itself wasn't. I went to a doctor that was previously a physiotherapist for a big hockey team so he knows sports injury, told me he had a player with a similar injury, told me how they tried adjusting his training to…

The doctor can't say a number as he says it is really difficult to diagnose these kinds of tears, but he said it could take up to a year and even then I won't be able to do certain exercises (he said running will probably always be difficult due to the high tension on that area during it)
-
Thanks for all the great replies, I think I'll have to adjust my calorie intake, since I don't see any suitable exercise options other than walking at the moment. The doctor recommended swimming, but that's another problem due to my chlorine allergy...

Am also starting with maintenance so would love some friends for motivation and such :)

I understand that, and by "doing weight" i meant lifting weights xD should have said it different. And the problem I find is, since I am a student, we eat out a lot or my GF cooks for me, and it's really hard to estimate the calories in that food...

Which one of these would be the most beginner friendly?
