Is there a Jamba Juice near you? I love to get smoothies there. You can customize your ingredients with either fruit or veggies, add protein and other vitamins, all without any clean up.

First, if you are morbidly obese you can likely lose 2 lbs per week until you get closer to your goal. Check out losertown.com to see how much you can lose each week eating the calories MFP recommends. Then keep in mind your calorie allotment will likely go down to keep you eating at a deficit as you get closer and closer…

@richb178 Would love to know how the scale was backwards.

I second @psuLemon. If you would like to reduce your fat intake, taking the yolk out of your eggs should help.

You can see what you previously posted by finding the link to “my discussions.” On my iphone it’s in the little word bubble top left.

Love this guy’s videos. Thanks for sharing. I’ve forwarded it to everyone I know!

I agree that it appears as though you still have more fat to lose. As for the loose skin, people have said they have found it still shrinking for up to two years.

I ate 8 cups of popcorn. And I loved it.

Log the cheese-its before you eat them. Just seeing the calories is usually enough for me to skip em or moderate how much I eat of them.

I’m glad you wrote this post because I too am having trouble getting anywhere near my protein goal. I’m a vegetarian though but I eat healthy and have protein at every meal. I supplement occasionally with protein shakes but I worry about their effect on my kidneys. Plus it seems contrary to the tenant of MFP that you…

For the record, I am one of the people who have to eat 1250 at maintenance (short, old, sedentary). I'm not there yet but I am eating 1200 to lose right now and I'm never hungry at 146 lbs.

Thanks everyone. "knowledge is power." I like that!

Added too. I’m just shy of 5’2” and need another 40 lb loss. I’m 42 though and not very active yet. So my pace will likely be slower. Are you eating 1200 cal/day?

I use infant safety pins to hold up my suit pants/skirts because I need to wear suits to work but they are expensive. I plan to get the pants tailored when I am down a total of 3 sizes but then I still plan to lose 2-3 more sizes so I’ll likely be pinning again. That is unless the jackets start to look too wonky.

A deficit of 500 calories per day equals one pound per week, not per day. As for staying within your calorie goals, I found that just logging everyday will help you determine which foods are worth the calories. It’s really a personal decision. Some people eat tons of veggies (bulk eating) while some people still eat junk…

If you want to lose 2 pounds per week you need to create of deficit of 1000 calories per day. It doesn’t matter if you eat less or work out more. MFP recommends you eat at least 1200 calories per day, however, so you would have to make up the rest of your deficit by working out. Also when you say “metabolism” it isn’t…

A reddit study found: "Multiple regression tells us that on average, for every 8.5 pounds lost, people dropped an inch off their waist. (And for every 1.5 kilograms lost, people dropped a centimeter off their waist.) Every 10 pounds lost was accompanied by 1.18 inches of waistline reduction.…

You don't need to eat 500 fewer calories every day to lose weight, that's the estimated amount to lose a pound a week. Smaller people will generally lose weight at a much slower pace than that. If you are sedentary and your BMR is 1200, then it is my understanding that to maintain your weight you should eat 1.2 times your…

Love your positivity! You got this.

In maintenance you are not trying to lose weight, but rather maintain your weight. So you no longer have to eat at a deficit and can eat up to your TDEE. Calculating your TDEE is not a perfect science, however, as described above. So some people may still be eating in a deficit and lose weight, albeit not as fast as when…

I needed to lose 60 lbs and felt the same way. I kept logging anyway and now I'm 20 lbs closer to my goal! We can do it

With a 125 lb weight loss I would bet you have a lot more changes than just your shoulders, but you look terrific.
-
I wish I did before shots. It's so fun! You look amazing.

Love that!

Thanks for the pep talk! Reading both your advice (over and over) really puts things into perspective.

Congrats! Didn’t work out today but I ran to catch my train and it was so much easier than the last time when I was 15lbs heavier. Best of luck for your third week

I wallowed in self pity for almost two years before gaining over 50 lbs when I finally decided to do something about it. The fact that you are recognizing and addressing this early is already a step in the right direction. Use me as your motivation to knock it off.

Nice work! I quit in August and it is tough juggling it with weight loss but giving yourself an extra 10 lb cushion should help. Keep up the good work

Sorry to hear about your separation. :( I'm an INTJ too who is now divorced from a ENFP-feeling husband who thought me insensitive just because I'm not overtly emotional. Good thing we have no problem being alone!
