  • Feel free to add me! Open diary here. Not sure if I'm the greatest example but you never know!
  • Hi Shanin, your doctor didn't steer you wrong! MFP has great tracking abilities and the barcode scanner is dope. I am also in the short club, 4'11" and started at 179lbs. I am now 148, with about 30lbs to go to get to my healthy range. Feel free to add me as a friend if you want some encouragement and companionship on your…

  • Hi Sunny! I'm glad you're getting some good use out of MFP's tracking, it's pretty great! Awwww sounds like you have a great goal in mind to be healthier, look better and feel more confident for your hubby. If you'd like to be friends feel free to add me! I try to share either a food pic, or a selfie pic or my tracking on…
  • Hi Kell! Welcome to MFP. With it's great food tracking system and big supportive community I'm sure you'll find people you can vibe with. Feel free to add me as a friend! :)
  • Thank you for your detailed and easy to follow method, I think you've convinced me to give it a try. What do you use to strain it? A spaghetti strainer with the semi-bigger holes or something meshy? We literally make roast chicken every week and the bones get tossed. Although I don't know WHAT to do with the bone broth…
  • You can buy bone broth already prepared in the market. I don't know where you live but if you buy at Costco, try "Golden Laden" bone broth. It is very tasty, and you can use if for soups or to prepare other dishes as well. It has 9 grams of protein per 8oz serving. [/quote] Oh really?? I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for…
  • Thanks for your feedback! Great lessons come with time. I definitely need to learn how to prepare more vegetables and keep their crunch! The mushy, soggy or even soft vegetables he doesn't enjoy much and I find just raw vegetables to be so bland sometimes. I don't even know what spices would be good to put on them lol! I…
  • Oooh Im glad you've found what works for you guys!! I'd love to know how you get so much fiber in a day/what veggies. Fiber is something I've been tracking more lately, I think that it's importance in the diet is understated.
  • Ooh interesting!! Does grilling the veggies make them soft or are they still hard? It sounds delicious!! watch out you might find me at your next BBQ ;)
  • Awww I hope your son is doing better these days that sounds like a challenge! Great suggestion with the smoothies!! I got the Ninja blender but I hear Vitamix is really great!! Fortunately, he will eat the listed vegetables I mentioned above in the OP raw, (add onions in that too) and just doesn't like mushy/soft…
  • "You consider this as part of an act of service to your hubby then?" -- I'm not quite sure I understand...but Yes? It is an act of service to cook for him, as it is an act of service for him to provide the things he does for me. And he wishes to try to eat healthier and since I do the cooking seeking out suggestions is a…
  • Glad he found something that works for him!
  • Unfortunately I don't think you read the post correctly or I did not express myself properly. It states in the post the vegetables he will eat "He will eat salad, spinach, celery, green beans and snap peas, cucumbers and baby carrot" and how he likes them raw, I am just expressing the desire for more variety in ways to…
  • Ohh hehe no worries at all, I don't think you personally were rough on him asking to be sure he wasn't being mean about it. And I am glad he is not, he doesn't criticize or complain. I wouldn't be able to put up with that kind of thing I'd be too sassy lol!! I'll ask him what he liked/didn't like especially if I saw that…
  • Ooo thanks for the recipes!! I'll definitely have to try the cauliflower one, if its too small and he doesn't notice/can't taste it much then that's definitely a win! I don't think he likes brussel sprouts.... or to be honest I don't think he likes the idea of brussell sprouts lmao! Maybe if I tried to convince him they…
  • Interesting!! I've not tried broiling, I'm not very skilled in the kitchen. How does broiling differ from roasting? As long as it's still firm he might like it. He will eat things raw, but not much variety there when its only 5 choices lol (cucumber, baby carrot, green bean, salad, snap peas) Yummm it sounds delicious,…
  • Hmmm blanched? I'm not familiar with that! I am not super skilled in the kitchen and tend to steam and cook my veggies til they are quite soft. If I take his out ahead of time that might be better. Like I mentioned above, he does he some things raw: carrots, cucumber, green beans and salad -- you can even add snap peas to…
  • Great suggestion! I'll have to give it a go. And not to worry, he is not rude, he is not mean about it. He just simply wont eat what he doesn't like and I don't fault him for that. I feel that some of the responders have been a little rough on him hehe, maybe I did not word everything in a great light, but I also don't…
  • Hah!! That's funny. You know the struggle. So silly.
  • Hehehehe. Tough love for sure ;) Great suggestion with blending veggies into sauce! I'll have to give that a try. And if you gave my man a V8 it'd go straight into the trash, so I'd like to try to find ways to help him be healthier. He is open to being healthier, and he does try. He is just very particular and picky in…
  • I'd like to try to help him be healthier with his eating because he wants to be healthier and I prepare the meals. It's something people do when they love eachother. :) They help eachother. They bother.
  • Thanks for your feedback lovely!! Not to worry my man is nowhere near rude to me when it comes to these things. If anything I'M the one that gets quite upset when he doesn't tend to eat much of it or a meal turns out well. ( I try not to be upset with him directly just upset in general, wishing it was better / different )…
  • Thanks for the recipes, I will check them out!! I tried roasting vegetables once and he did not like them, they were too soft? Maybe I did it wrong. I am not a great cook, or at least not a skilled one. As for fruit! Yes he has no issues with fruit really. He wont grab it himself but if I put it on the plate he will eat it.
  • Hehehe aww!! Definitely sounds like your hubs struggling more on the veggie train than mine is! At least he gets 1 serving of something a day whether it be cucumber (mostly that) or green bean. I would let him make his own meals if he desired, he is more than welcome to. However the quality of his meals would decrease…
  • Yaaay :) thank you!! Nice to meet you!
