Great idea! I love these things. I usually let mine simmer in a pot of sauce for about an hour so they absorb the flavour. The only thing that was off putting at first was the smell. I just make sure I rinse them well.

This is so true. My biggest downfall was beer, which I would drink daily, sometimes in excess. I’ve cut that out to 1-2 per week (on weekends only). Bread or grains of any sort just make me hungrier. I’ve done best in the past on eating plans that don’t involve wheat, grains, etc but loaded up on other good and healthy…

I was attempting 25-ish net carbs a day, but it wasn’t feasible for me. I noticed that I was craving vegetables (which would have thrown me over my count) and not wanting to eat another egg. I’ve changed my percentages for macros to give a bit more carb flexibility and less fat. I’m naturally not fussy over grains (except…

Did you calculate your percentages for carbs, fat and protein? What does a typical day of meals look like for you? I am by no means an expert in this (first week of Keto just completed) but others may be able to give some advice.

Looking for some friends! 39F - following Keto/low carb.

Good to see the scale start going down. My goal for this upcoming week is sticking with it, keeping my water intake up, and running at least 2 times. Also going to throw the weights in there too.

You are absolutely right. When I did this before, I lost most of the cravings I had for beer, sweets, etc (although I could be persuaded with a butter croissant now and again). If I wanted a drink, I’d have a glass of wine. Right now I’m focusing hard on reducing the amount of alcohol I’m drinking because I was drinking…

I found that using good quality organic cream gives such a wonderful taste. It’s almost sweet without the addition of any sugars.
-
@zanyterp - sugar free just plain ol’ whipping cream Put it in my mini blender and it turned out just fine.
-
Ohhhhh. I just had the most delightful thing. Homemade whipped cream (made from organic whipping cream) and blackberries. Heavenly.
-
Great suggestions, thanks! My go-to right now (if I have the allowances) is dark chocolate (90%). That satisfies my cravings. I feel as though raspberries and ricotta helps, I could definitely go for some raspberries and whipped cream!

Agreed, I can eat the same thing over and over. Steak and sautéed mushrooms for an entire week? Sign me up!

39 yo female here living in Toronto. I’ve been struggling with losing weight (about 20 lb five years ago) to gaining it all back and then some within the last two years. I’m looking to lose this weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. For me, cutting out beer and wine is going to be a huge challenge. Feel free to add me :)

Yes please! Major life overhaul here. Exercise and healthy eating, self-improvement, meditation, etc.

Sign me up! I have (do) use booze as a stress reducer. I’m sure the gym will serve me better :). When I was stressed with my job, I’d have two pints at the bar after work, then come home and have three more beers. When I didn’t want to be at home because of whatever reason, I went to the bar to escape. Now, that I’m under…

Usually 2-3 per day. Hard boiled egg for breakfast, lunch and late afternoon snack before dinner. Adding a hard boiled egg at meals has helped keep me full and satisfied.

Today I will: - drink at least 3L of water - Complete my C25K workout - Train my abs - Detach from things that have nothing to do with me and I cannot help with (no people pleasing by problem solving for them!)

Thanks for your replies. One of my goals is to be able to run a 5k. That's been with me for as long as I can remember. My second goal is to be able to do pull ups. I just think it would be awesome to be able to do. Thirdly (and this goal doesn't have much to do with fitness per se), I want to build confidence and do…

Today would have easily been a 4+ beer day. Two while out for lunch, more while watching football and preparing dinner. Had one pint at lunch. Had one beer watching football. Went and grabbed a club soda after. I just don't want to drink anymore.
-
My diet is low carb as well, mostly because of choice. I'm not at all fussy over grains, pasta, etc. Feel free to add me :)

Count me in! I usually try and sleep by 10:30 pm and I'm up at 6:00 am. I always wake up in the middle of the night (say around 3:00 am). I'm limiting my drinking, which I know can affect your sleep pattern.
-
I'm in. Looking to reduce my intake. I don't want to give it up completely but I want to limit it.
-
Me too! I just joined. Luckily for me there's one right beside my office so I have no excuse. I've sent you a friend request :)

Starting back at the gym (my first membership in YEARS!). Looking for friends who can motivate me with my fitness plans as well as those who can support me with everyday ups and downs! Aside from my fitness goals, I'd like to become more involved with mindfulness practice, meditation, and just general self improvement :)
