PS: For the last 16 weeks I have maintained my weight despite the sick, I'm just trying to improve my diet now and be a bit healthier in my food choices.

I would presume losing weight while pregnant (at a VERY slow, controlled pace) would be healthy because I KNOW being obese isn't good for the baby or for me. I'm hopeful the doctor will help guide me in what steps to take to remain healthy and NOT gain even more weight during this period (and thus raise the risk level even…

Also... it's okay if you fail 10,000 times. It only takes one time succeeding to reach your goal.

On top of all the great advice everyone has given I would suggest you also find a motivational partner. Someone to be accountable to that is other than yourself. That might help? Has to be someone offline not online. Also, you CAN do this. You are stronger than your weakness. <3

I thought the point of body positivity was to accept bodies however they are. A person who is overweight has become that way, most likely, through their own choices. For me, I am overweight because I overeat and don't exercise enough. A bodybuilder has the body they have because of their choices. If we are going to be…

Thanks ladies! It's good to hear real life experiences as opposed to conflicting internet advice. Haha. My big concern is I don't want to gain MORE for sure. So even if the doc clears me for maintaining current weight I will be happy. I don't want to put the baby at ANY risk but also don't think extra weight would be…

I thought my name was Nickel (it's Nicole - but the way people said it, I just got confused and thought my name was the same as the coin). I also thought that song: Hey Mickey you're so fine... was actually about me because I heard the lyrics as: Hey Nicky you're so fine. I think my biggest misunderstanding was thinking…

Where I live it's actually illegal to drink OR eat while driving. Haha. So technically your dad was still doing the wrong thing SOMEWHERE in the world. LOL

You're right. That $9500 I pay in taxes doesn't JUST cover healthcare, but that is ALL I pay in taxes. I have no other taxes or expenses. If I want I can get health insurance to cover expenses the universal healthcare doesn't cover (eye exams, dental work, prescription medicine) but I don't. Despite this, I have never had…

I figured as my pee was light colored that I was all right too but I see now I was retaining water like CRAZY! I feel better now with more water too. Just more awake and more alert all the time. It's great!

That so sounds like something I would do if I could. HAHA. Thankfully I'm allergic to most sweets and cookies.

I didn't want to just lose weight, I wanted to learn how to eat better. To me, that means not cutting things out but instead learning how to portion things properly. :) So, I say, don't cut anything out. Just learn how to moderate it. Learn lifelong good habits, don't get a temporary diet, get a lifestyle change.

Same thing us Canadians pay. :) I make 45K a year. Of that $9508 goes to taxes. BUT I never have to pay to visit the doctor, I never have to pay for surgeries or exams or anything of that nature. The year I had ulcers I paid $0 for countless exams and care. I never worry about: There's this weird swelling in my leg, how am…

??? I'm not sure I understand ... If she is deliberately finding ways to circumvent life-long bad habits (eating whatever she wants without worrying) how is finding new routines and better eating habits sabotaging herself????

Just hit a 30 day streak. Now I didn't log for 6 days but I logged in. LOL. And I didn't log because I had surgery and I was in no position to be counting calories or logging my food. BUT, I think just logging in reminded me what my goals are and kept me in check because that week I didn't gain or lose, I just maintained…

I have the myfitnesspal app as well as the fitbit app on my phone and I've never had an issue of it not synching. I'd do what the above poster suggested. Disable and re-enable... it's the good old: Have you tried turning it off and on again?

I've always been more than 75lbs overweight so I never considered weighing less would mean you have to lose less just because of the math. Thanks for clarifying that just in case OP is a smaller lady. :)

I'm not sure 20lbs in 7 weeks is doable. The general rule is it's safe to lose 2lbs a week at the most. You can do that by weighing and measuring all your food, being more active and just in general making better lifestyle choices. I'm also wanting to lose 20lbs before my wedding but it's in 3 months, so 12 weeks and that…

I bought this dress on the weekend that is one size too small right now. BUT the look on my fiances face when I put it on has inspired me! I want to fit it before he comes home again (he's gone three weeks every month). Not sure 6lbs will be enough to get into it but I'm going to try!

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Good luck man!!!! Cooking your own meals will be a challenge at first but I think you'll find it not only more cost effective but in the end more satisfying.

Since I was 13 I've had stretch marks on my upper arms and honestly it has bothered me my entire life. I won't wear tank tops or any tops that show them. And that's just my comfort level. That said, my fiance doesn't even notice them so when I'm alone with him I have no problem wearing shirts that show them off. Don't…

I do. :) What are your goals? I'm not worrying about macros and proteins and all that so I'm not sure how much help I'd be on that end.
-
Oh my gosh!!!!! That's wonderful!

Surprisingly YouTube has a lot of great weight loss videos that are SUPER realistic. I have been watching those too. The ones I've seen so far are young women who encourage losing at a rate of 1/2lb per week or 1lb per week and speak very realistically about how long it takes and WHAT it takes. The good news is, most young…

Awesome!!!! I find at home is the HARDEST time to resist so that takes some amazing self control. :D Good work.

The Shock Absorber was amazing!!! 50lbs back when I was still running I had a Shock Absorber and it kept my DD's pretty well in place. PLUS it was pretty comfortable.
-
I can see that. Like the show I was watching this morning... 2 hours of exercise a day. My insides curled up and died a little watching that girl cry her way through some of those workouts.

What Keny said. I was in a job like you describe and I now suffer all kinds of physical injuries because of it. Damaged shoulder nerve, damaged groin, damaged blood vessels in my calf, damaged wrist. I REALLY wish I would have taken up some side activities like Keny suggests, stretching and etc. It probably would have…
