  • I wish! With a 5 month old there's no such thing as relaxing after. Haha. Sometimes there isn't even a shower after, depends what kind of mood he's in. My husband works out of the home so I'm on my own and have to kind of navigate around the baby. :) But yeah. Getting stronger is definitely the perk of this hell for me.…
  • I didn't think I was pushing but it sure felt like it haha
  • Whoops! I suppose I should post my new weight here!! HAHA SW: 284lbs CW: 280 (as of this morning) Steps: 3000 and a bit (not sure the exact, I stopped checking after 3000) August goals: I am hoping to lose 8lbs this month!
  • I weighed today. 280lbs I don't think I would qualify for any fitbit challenges. My goal is 3k steps a day. I'm still recovering from a foot injury so can't walk much. Luciicul - Thank you! :) I am determined to be healthier so for me it's not just weight loss but eating healthier too! I wanna live a long time so I can see…
  • Hi! Is this where we check-in etc? I have a 4-month-old so my brain is complete mush. LOL. When I get a chance I'll read through everything again. Anyway. Last week was weird because I hit all my calorie goals but didn't really lose as much as I expected. hoping for a better outcome this week! I suspect lack of sleep is…
  • Oh yeah, I totally agree with that. Activity level has to be a match. Not only that but you don't ever want to be at the point where you have to take care of your partner because they can't get out of bed... or because their weight has made it difficult for them to do something as simple as make themselves a meal or clean…
  • Okay, so I'm a new mom with a 4 month old so I NEED that poster!!! LOL! And that butter? YAAAASSS. It's going on my potato tonight. Not the whole thing... just a portion because I'm calorie counting. ;)
  • When I read this I think it wasn't her weight gain that was the problem... it was her attitude. I mean... I almost wonder if it's more you lost attraction to her because of her personality and not because of the body weight. I have met many, many fit men who I found repulsive because of their terrible personalities. And…
  • You don't. And if your partner tells you they're trying and they need help... don't push and be obnoxious. Just gently but firmly do what they ask. I asked my husband to help me lose weight. He takes this shiz seriously. LOL. If he sees me grabbing a chocolate bar he says: Are you sure? If I try to buy a soda at the store…
  • My streak is 7 days!!! Guys. I feel like this is it. This is the time it sticks. HAHA. Tomorrow is the mid-week weigh-in... then Friday is the official weigh-in. Pretty excite! (yes, I weigh-in twice. I can't help it. I'm excited... the scale motivates me... I KNOW, taboo, but it totally does!)
  • It's easy to give up. Overcoming an unhealthy relationship with food is really hard work. So, so hard. But, succeeding feels better than giving up ever can. Giving up feels good in the moment but lousy in the future. Pushing through will feel lousy in the moment but SO good in the future. Invest in your future! ^^What I…

  • Perfect! Thank you so much! I'm having trouble learning how to navigate so this is very helpful.
  • Thank you and I'm so sorry to hear about your loss! <3
  • I think when you reach a certain BMI it's probably not unreasonable to state that person is unhealthy. 40+. I think there are very rare cases where this isn't true. So I both agree that BMI isn't accurate but disagree that it can't be an indicator (at a certain point) of bad health.
  • I hadn't considered different agencies would have different criteria! Some excellent points being made in here. I'm still not sure where I sit. But I keep imagining someone severely obese not the average overweight person and I think that's tripping me up.
  • I just thought of a question for those who, like me, had a knee-jerk 'this is wrong' reaction. What about the health risks to the child? Because they will obviously be raised in a home where proper nutrition and eating habits aren't taught, so most likely they will also end up obese (which we know is unhealthy). I mean, we…
  • From what I saw, and it was a TV show so I have no idea how accurate it was, they were restricting based entirely on potential health issues. The BMI itself was seen as a 'health problem'. From my understanding.
  • I hadn't thought of that but that's certainly a concern!
  • I honestly don't know (I'm pregnant. Information goes in one ear and out through my aching ankles LOL so I'm not sure if they said in the show or if it wasn't mentioned). What do you think would be acceptable?
  • My unpopular opinion: It's better to resurrect an old thread then start a new one with the same topic. :P
  • I would only argue with the walking is not exercise. When you're carrying 100+ extra pounds on your body walking is ABSOLUTELY exercise. If you haven't been that fat, you don't know the stress simply walking can put on the body. I sweat like a PIG when I walk, my heart pounds in my chest, my body has the same reaction it…
  • We're having a baby in a few months. We live in a 700 sq. ft. home, no basement, no closets. One bedroom so we have to figure out how to get the crib in with the bed and warddrobe. It's a tricky process. As I was trying to figure that out, we moved 9 boxes of things out of the bedroom and into storage and we moved a…
  • A million years later... he specifically said no potatoes or fruit. I did not misunderstand. And yes, he wanted me to squash carrots, beets, squash, etc. as well but I opted not to listen. I just did my own thing. He's a health nut and on this crazy diet and he periodically encourages me to do the diet too. I just do my…
  • If I drank coffee it would be 30% coffee, 70% cream. LOL. The taste just doesn't appeal to me at all. I will, however, drink it black when I have a migraine. The caffeine helps the pain meds do their job so it's like medicine in that context.
  • I always read this stuff with a ton of skepticism. The questions I ask myself. 1. What are they selling? They're almost ALWAYS selling something. 2. What is their opinion on eggs? Remember when eggs were bad? Then good? Then bad again? Then good. Then bad... 3. I need to see the actual scientific studies. Just referencing…
  • It's less about diet and more about wanting to provide proper nutrition to my body and baby but I get what you're saying too! I honestly haven't found any magic food that I can tolerate so I'm kind of like: Well, may as well find some good recipes and eat well. This babe hates soda of any kind so ginger ale hasn't worked…
  • I used to think that too but there are people who can graze and people who cannot. For example, it's the difference between the person who can eat three chips and the person who will eat the whole bag. If you're a whole bag person it's better to cut that food out of your diet completely until you've gotten to a point where…
