  • I finally got to make the switch from "weight loss" to "Maintenance"
  • Thank you everyone. I am going to do the trial run on maintenance for a few weeks and see how that goes. I think it will just take some getting used to as I've been in the "I need to lose weight" mind frame for so long. I will keep tracking that way I still feel in control. And if my weight starts to creep up I can always…
  • I find that chewing gum helps me when I'm hungry and looking for a snack.
  • I'm going bathing suit shopping in 3 weeks. I haven't bought a bathing suit since before I had kids (so 5 years ago). And the last time I tried them on in the store before trying to lose weight I ended up leaving the store in tears because I felt so fat and ugly. This time I am 35 lbs down and I'm determined to feel…
  • This sounds just like my in-laws. My mother in law would show us how much she loved us by overloading us with "our favorites" when we came over. And would get offended if we didn't eat it all because then we didn't love her back. It took us a long time to slowly work on changing the habits. My husband and I would start…
  • Every year, since we were in high school, my husband and I make Spicy Venison and Broccoli Linguine together. We do all of the prep work the day before cutting everything up and marinating the meat overnight. This way the day off there really isn't too much work involved.…

In a skillet brown the ground beef. Drain it and set it aside. 2. Dice the peppers and the onion. Add…
  • I went to my cousin's birthday party this weekend. I haven't seen her in months. She has always been the super healthy, fit, and skinny member in our family. She commented 3 separate times during the party about how great I looked and how much weight I lost. She even asked me what I was doing to look so good. I never…
  • I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but a friend of mine uses caramel premier protein shakes as her creamer to make iced coffee.
  • Mom of two here, it does get better. Having a new baby is a huge change and can be very stressful, so give yourself a break and don't add extra stress in the form of food guilt. My husband and I lived out of our crock pot for a while after each kid. Find some easy recipes to toss in in the morning and not worry about…
  • put the chicken breast in a baking dish, cover with a small jar of pesto sauce, bake. 5 minutes before it is done add shredded mozzarella cheese to the top to melt. serve with rice.
  • When talking about weight I want to stop hearing the line "it's okay for you to be heavier right now, you just had a baby". My baby is almost 2 years old now. If I still look heavy enough to have "just" had a baby, I've got a problem.
  • I'm starting insanity again. I did it a few years ago, then life got too busy. Now I'm making time for it. Even if I only do it every other day.

  • actually set up my work out area in the basement. I have a TV, DVD player, yoga mat, and work out ball that I always say I'm going to use to work out but never do because they are never in the same spot.
  • 2 and 4 year old boys here. I'm finding it is actually helping my weight loss to join them rather than fight them when they are crazy full of energy. I toss kids music on and we have family dance parties in the living room, races/sprints in the hall way, and at bath time I let them play with toys and do push-ups and planks…
  • A fav of mine is chicken breast in a glass pan and top with a small jar of pesto sauce, bake until chicken is cooked through, add mozzarella cheese in top 5 mins before done, serve it over whatever you want (rice, quinoa, pasta, ect.)
  • Cutting sugar out of my tea. I have 3-5 cups a day and was putting multiple TABLESPOONS of sugar in each cup. The weekly calories I saved was crazy.
  • Turned out she did have to return all the shirts she bought me and reorder them in a smaller size.
  • I am a mother of 2 boys. Before I got pregnant with my first I was actually half way through the Inanity home work out, so I know I was exactly 107.5 pounds (at 5 foot tall) when I found out I was pregnant. After having him I was 149 pounds leaving the hospital. I got back down to 117 before I got pregnant a year and 8…
  • We do hot gravy sandwiches: a slice of bread, turkey, hot gravy, another slice of bread (repeat until it is as tall as you want it.) Or we shred the turkey and mix it with taco seasoning and have turkey tacos.
  • My mom, who has always been loving but critical, came over last night to make Christmas cookies with my family. She gave me this weird look and said "gee I hope the clothes I bought you for Christmas fit. What size are you in now?" (In a good way as I'm smaller than she thought.)
  • I cheat with mine. I buy the huge jar of pickles from the store and eat all the pickles. Then I boil the left over juice, but the peeled eggs into the jar and pour the juice back in and let it sit for about a week in the fridge.
  • I've never tried the paleo diet, but my husband did for a short time a few years back. The one thing I remember him making that I loved the most (that wasn't crazy complicated) was this sweet potato dish. Shred a sweet potato with a cheese grater. Heat a table spoon of coconut oil in a skillet. Cook the potato until is it…
  • I actually packed away all of my maternity and "in between" clothing and got back out my pre- baby wardrobe. And I actually still look decent in those clothes.
  • I love putting 4-6 chicken breast in a glass dish and pouring a small jar of pesto sauce over top. then the last 5 mins of baking top it with shredded mozzarella cheese. Really great over brown rice or quinoa. And the leftovers are great with shredding the chicken and mixing the rice sauce and chicken together with spinach…
  • Going to the gym after having my two boys was not an option for me. My husband and I both work full time and the closest gym is over a 45 min drive from my house. So now we are incorporating working out into play time with the boys and then having some me time scheduled in. I toss music on and we have "Mega Dance Parties"…
  • I'm in a wedding this coming June and I don't want to be the fat bridesmaid.
  • I love hot cocoa. There are some non-dairy mixes out there. I like to change up how I drink it too to keep it from getting boring. I might drink it plain, stir it with a candy cane for a peppermint flavor, or use coffee mate flavors. There is also a k cup for hot apple cider that is really yummy.
  • I drink a lot of hot tea. I change up the flavors to keep it from getting boring. My favorites are green chia tea, vanilla caramel tea, and green tea with lemon. I used to add a ton of sugar or honey to them, but slowly cut back until I preferred them without. I also make Koolaid a lot. I get the powder mix where you have…
