- How great plain food tastes when you're hungry - How nice it is to NOT snuggle hips with your row mate on public transport. - How much taller you look - I have copd and am on xxygen 24/7. A highest weight I needed oxygen flow of 5. 98 pounds later, I am down to 3 flow. And can walk much further - Being able to bend over…

I confess I binged and purged today. Yuck. Will try again tomorrow, to not.

Thank you for posting this question/thread. I am a reformed advice giving junky. Now I "Just Don't Do It"

yay you!!!

I'm 67 and powerfully remember the 70's. Extreme thinness became popular in the 60's in particular in response to supermodels like Twiggy. I had a girlfriend in high school who literally took Twiggy's weight, figured out the pound to height ratio and then used this ration to define her own "perfect weight". She was taller…

Kudos to you. I cannot comment, but have type two diabetes in my family on my father's side. So I will be lurking on this thread. Wish I had more to add, but then again I guess I'm lucky not to...I will let you inspire me.

don't know, never had it, but grits with butter, dash salt and pepper -- Yum

Yep. I had the same experience as you are reporting, and I was chagrined until I just decided to err on the side of more calories and enter the highest calorie count that seemed right. This has worked, and I also use the recipes and meals features, so that I can save meals or recipes that I like and eat often.

what a great question. I don't have stats on my BMI, so I cannot really respond. But kudos to you for putting this question out there. Kelsey's numbers are pretty much consistent with my experience when I was at 128 pounds. I was wearing an extra small and size 2-6. Mostly 4, but some 2 or 6s which may or not have been…

I was awful when I was all "judgy" in my head about how she was dealing with a particular, very stressful problem. I'm sorry Maureen.

Sometimes drug stores (chemists) have them - the larger chains, if you have them there. My goodness, you look so thin in your picture. Anyway, I won't sabotage you by engaging on why you feel you need to lose weight. I would literally die to be as thin as you, which is probably the last thing I should be saying to you. You…

thanks for all the tips. I'm well on my way, since I posted this initial post. I'm still discovering cool things about the app, for example the import recipe feature. Super-cool. And to think I actually, painfully typed in recipes when I could have just typed in an URL. :-)

Ok. Thank you for the advice. I really appreciate it! :-)

Looking for friends who might need motivation or encouragement. I'm good at that, but bad at making friends :-)

So, hows it going Nicole - any relief to your anxiety about losing the weight. You're in my thoughts and I pray for everything to go the best for you.

Thank you for opening this thread. As a fellow eating disorder affected person, this is encouraging for me to hear.

You might be surprised at how many restaurant entries are in the database.

flat and rock hard, with a strong core

Hi Tibbie, please don't worry. You will lose at approximately the rate the app explains. Twenty-one pounds should take you roughly eleven weeks. And it will take a little time for your body to "recognize the weight loss and kind of "shrink" into your new size. You have plenty of time and could even decide to consume a few…

way to go. I fall on and off the wagon myself. haven't had it stall my weight loss, as long as I stay under the calories everyday, although I know on those days I don't get all the nutrients I'd be getting if I equaled the calories in food. But, I really like to drink. I like the way it makes me feel. :-) I notice that if…

Oh yeah, one more thing. I assumed that you didn't want to use oil. For 100 calories, you can experiment. You'll notice a slight difference in the flavor and can see which you prefer. I find that cooking the veggies in oil retains their bitter properties better and dry pan cooking draws out more sweetness.

Yes, you can absolutely use a stainless steel pan, however I haven't tried it, so you will have to play with the technique. Basically get your pan really hot and then put the veggies you want to pan roast into the pan and keep them moving in the pan so that they do not stick. I do them in this order: Onions, garlic…

yum OMG this is so fun

also, cabbage is inexpensive and makes a nice filler veggie to add bulk, fiber and stretch out the flavors of your lovely inexpensive meats or cooked down vegetables. I've a technique of dry cooking veggies in a non-stick pan, so that it seals in all the tasty goodness, cooks out the water, caramelizes the sugars in the…

Are you vegetarian. Beef shank and ox tails make a low cost flavorful meat filled broth broth that can stretch incredibly well with veggies like carrots, onions, celery, parsnips, celeriac, mushrooms and tomatoes. Make it filling, by serving with rice or potatoes, but be careful on the calories of these.

Go on and eat those eggs. Have some fun cooking them. Omeletts are great and you can fill them full of your favorite veggies with hardly a hit on the calorie counter. It really is an incredible edible.

Be honest with yourself about which you will really use. Are you the type of person who can exercise for 30 or 40 minutes alone everyday, with nothing but the invariably annoying sound of your home treadmill solution. Or are you the type of person who is social and likes being around other people, even if you don't know…

Here's the link to their site. They have recipes also. https://www.foodaddictsanonymous.org/

Good luck. Have you ever heard of Food Addicts Anonymous. I really liked their philosophy that has you staying away from processed sugars, foods made with and from them and alcohol. It's crazy how just one bite of sugary, yeasty, bready or creamy goodness, can spin me into a spiral of overeating. But I've got problems,…
