^^^This. Have you thought about macro counting with the assistance of MFP? It takes into account your age, height, goal, fitness level, and body shape and creates a set of macros fit just for you. You decide how you meet them.

NSV: meal planning and prepping has helped me lose 6 pounds so far. This is a NSV because there was a time where I loathed meal planning and prepping and if I happened to do it, I would get a few days in and find a reason (socially more often than not) to throw in the towel to only go back to my old ways. It has been a…

There were other factors, however, when I realized I weigh more than an NFL player, enough was enough.

NSV: Sticking to the lunch I had packed for work today when a co-worker orders a pizza for themselves and shares with all of us. Social eating is a big thing where I work. In the past, I would have been the culprit in starting a social eating experience at work along with eating more than I anticipated of whatever we were…

You aren’t too far from where I stay (not trying to be a creep. ) which is Belltown. PNW unite!
-
That is amazing! I have yet to go to Bremerton, but do catch the ferry for Bainbridge for a day when I go up with family.
-
I bet! Any place that can keep you warm, dry and help you with your weight loss and fitness goals is the place to be.
-
Congrats on your NSV. I noticed that you said you live in the PNW. Might I ask where? I travel to Seattle a few times a year and think it is a beautiful part of the country.

I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It sounds like you have half the battle won with your outlook. Keep a hold of that throughout your journey....it will serve you well. I haven’t personally been diagnosed with cancer, however, my mom was 4.5 years ago. She had Merkel Cell Carcinoma, a rare form of skin cancer. She…

I don’t typically distinguish between either one of them. I still track it with my carbs, however, hitting protein is my main focus while staying at a deficit.

Dear Anonymous, I have a crush on you. Sincerely, Introvert

Dear Anonymous, You creep me out in a way I can’t put my finger on, however, you are the only one in your position that I feel as if I can trust. I am too afraid to go through the hassle of finding someone new and I am not interested in going backwards to being judged over my choices. Just don’t make me regret this…

Finding and loving a hobby that has been worth sticking around for and it isn’t centered around food. Edit: it is my NSV because, in a way, it has helped fill in the void of ‘mindless eating.”
-
Thanks for the help @crazyravr
-
Initially, I was curious to know if it was important to track or not because I have read some people do and some people don’t. I honestly wanted to know because if I was already meeting my nutrition goals and staying at a deficit, how much that mattered and/or if it actually did matter.
-
I wouldn’t disregard the food choice, however, I could the supplement since it is optional and doesn’t have the same impact on my body like my food choices.
-
No, I was looking at it from a supplement point of view. For instance: chicken, in any form, is more of a complete source of protein than hydrolyzed collagen because it is a whole food, not a supplement.
-
I use hydrolyzed collagen as well. I guess what I am confused about is that though it is considered a protein, I have read in my reading on it that it is an incomplete protein. So, if it’s not a complete protein, would it still need to be logged?
-
Collagen Peptide Powder and Pure Marine Collagen Powder.
-
What about tracking when it comes to collagen?
-
Me too!
-
As long as you hit your protein and stay at a caloric deficit, I don’t think it matters if you go over your fat.

Truly understanding the phrase, ‘it’s not how many times you fall down, but about how many times you get back up.’ The beauty in that lesson is my NSV.
