I’ll definitely post one. :)

It turns out that I’m getting him on Saturday. I’m so excited!

I just wanted to say to take care of yourself. Depression is no joke! I’ve found that meds and therapy help somewhat, but fresh air, exercise, and good nutrition are probably at least as helpful.
-
Me too! At least I’m not the only one. :)
-
How can people sleep while doing this? I cannot sleep if I’m overly hungry.
-
I’m going to be getting a service dog (golden retriever) in the next 6 months, so I’m definitely looking forward to the extra motivation to get out.
-
I think talking to a therapist is in order here. I’ve found it very helpful in addressing my bingeing issues.

Monthly weigh ins may not be ideal for newbies who are still trying to figure out counting calories. If you’re way off in your logging, a month or two would be a while to go without making necessary adjustments.
-
I weigh in monthly at my doctor’s office. I have to go monthly for a non related issue. I had to get rid of my scale. I was getting WAY too obsessive with it. Monthly weigh ins have been much better for me.

I have either a glass of wine (6 ounces) or a beer (12 ounces) every night. It hasn’t hurt my weight loss any. I’m down over 60 pounds with around 35 to go. I just work it into my calories. It makes my plan more enjoyable. If you’re one of those people who binge drinks or gets a serious case of the munchies from alcohol,…

I also find a Snickers more filling than chicken breast. It makes a satisfying breakfast in a pinch.
-
I keep a running tally in my head of calories I consumed. It works for me!

If you plug in your stats, activity level, and desired weekly weight loss (preferably a pound) into MFP, it’ll give you a number.
-
I’m a bit surprised. I was expecting some crazy detox diet from her to be honest. Perhaps some ACV.
-
I would suggest using MFP. Set a realistic goal (maybe a pound a week) and eat foods you enjoy. Don’t set an overly aggressive goal (losing 2 pounds a week) because if you feel deprived or hungry you’ll be more likely to binge. Work treats into your calories while making sure you’re getting adequate protein and fat. If you…

I prefer gentle yoga. It doesn’t burn a lot of calories, but it really helps reduce my anxiety and develop mindfulness which keeps me from binge eating.
-
Mmm... I have to try that! A low-fat diet and I would go together like oil and water. Lol
-
I like very oily salad dressings, pesto sauces, and browned butter sauce, so yeah, I basically do...
-
When I’m not being conscious of calories, I’ve even cooked with more than a tablespoon and had no issues.
-
Am I the only one who thinks a tablespoon of olive oil isn’t too much? I frequently cook a large portion of vegetables in a tablespoon of EVOO and eat it in one sitting with no ramifications. Yum!
-
I think Mirena helped me lose weight. I don’t get crazy PMS cravings like I used to.
-
HaloTop usually has about 320 calories and 20 grams of protein a pint. I find it very filling.
-
I have a glass of wine or a beer everyday and it hasn’t hindered my weight loss. I also eat about half my calories in the evening. So far, I’ve lost over 60 pounds with 30-40 to go. With that being said, make sure you’re getting the right amount of protein and fat for health and nutrition.

The OP doesn’t always choose “junk food.” She does “some days.” It sounds like a moderate, common sensical approach. It’s much better than giving up all treats and then bingeing on them later like I would.
-
Sedentary is less than 5,000 steps. Lightly active is 5,000-10,000.
-
I eat lots of low calorie foods like eggs, fish, veggies, and fruit, so I have more room in my calorie budget for ice cream (everyday), wine or beer (everyday), and chocolate (everyday). I also exercise, so I can eat more! Lol
-
Honestly, I think you look great now. If it were me, I’d be happy with maintenance.
-
If you make it a necessity to workout, surely you can make it a necessity to spend a couple minutes weighing your food. I’d try it out for a couple weeks just to make sure you’re eating the amount you think you are.

I’m wondering if a lot of us with ADHD tend to make impulsive choices around food. Being hyper can help a person’s NEAT but poor impulse control around food could counteract that.

I have ADHD and high functioning autism (Asperger’s). I have trouble accomplishing things that I’m not obsessively interested in. Weight loss goes just fine until I lose interest and obsess about something else. With that being said, losing weight in spurts has really worked for me. I’m down over 60 pounds with 30-40 to go.
