Congrats on your weight loss! I was able to get to my goal weight some years ago and have been maintaining since. You can do it, too. Just take it one day at a time. This is a lifestyle change - not a quick fix and then returning to old eating habits. One of the things that helped me is to never bring anything home that I…

Thank you, Ann, for sharing that very helpful information. Appreciate it :)

I struggle with this, too. I am not strictly a vegetarian, but I eat very little meat. Hoping to get some tips here :) Do you eat eggs?

It absolutely worked for me. January 2018 I started using MyFitnessPal and intermittent fasting and lost over 50 lbs by that Fall. That brought me to my goal weight of 115 lbs, which I have maintained, within 10 lbs since then. I have never been hungry in the morning, so I don't start eating til later in the day. Then I do…

Frozen bananas sprinkled with cinnamon. Sometimes I top it with a little left over oatmeal. Yummy :)

This is very doable, no matter what your age. I am 67 and went from the upper 130's to 117 since the beginning of this year strictly by calories in/calories out/tracking.

That people start telling you that you're too skinny now. And that the weight would come off my boobs first.

Loose skin.

I think it was my mindset. I gained 20 lbs from March of last year to the beginning of this year. I slowly started letting myself eat stuff I shouldn't - in amounts that I shouldn't. I finally had a wake-up call when none of my goal-weight clothes would fit me any longer. Glad to say that I was able to reverse the weight…

I hope you are able to find a good running shoe store. My local one videos your gait and then has you try on (and walk in) multiple choices based on your feet and your gait. And, yes, running stores cater to walkers, not to mention people who just stand on their feet all day and need support. I find that when I need new…

I believe you mean to reduce "added salt". We get plenty of salt through our regular diet. For myself, I completely agree with your comments about sugar. I also try to limit flour products, as I find sugar and flour tend to pack on the pounds :) Of course, each individual has to find what works for them :)

I really like this. Thank you so much for the encouragement. I always remind myself not to give up right before progress is made :)

I freeze my spinach and then take it out in small batches to add to my smoothies :)

Boredom eating only happens to me when I'm home, so I can leave the house and go elsewhere, or take a nap :)

Reminding myself that nothing tastes as good as thin feels :)

Are you still able to use your regular exercise facilities? My regular gym is closed due to the virus. Other places I've gone to walk (inside) require a mask, which makes it hard to breathe while exerting yourself. Outside walking is dependent on the weather, which has turned cold and rainy here. I find myself feeling…

Wow, something I never thought of! Thank you for sharing your experience.

The anxiety is killing me. Have been stuffing my face to soothe these uneasy feelings. Can't seem to stop eating.
-
I try to bulk up my meals with veggies. An example is adding broccoli to spaghetti or mashed carrots to mashed potatoes.
-
Are you really hungry or is it more of a "I just want to eat" type of thing? If it's the just wanting to eat thing, I get myself out of the vicinity of food by either leaving the house or taking a nap. If you are truly hungry, try bulking up your meals with lots of veggies.

YUM!
-
Are there any that you can use more than once or are they all single use?
-
Hang in there. The first few days always seem to be the worst, at least for me.

I just want to offer you some encouragement. You can do this. It is so tempting to turn a blind eye to negative changes, but we must be vigilant and force ourselves to stay on top of things. Otherwise we end up back where we started or even in worse shape. I weigh myself every morning. If I've been making bad choices, I am…

Lots of vintage people here :) I'm 65 & walk 5 miles each day M-F. I lost around 50 lbs last year and am currently in maintenance. Haven't felt this good in years. Good luck with your weight loss journey. You can do this!

Good grief, what is going on here? Hopefully they don't ruin a perfectly good forum.

We have lowered our standards for week night meals. We are perfectly happy with oatmeal & toast, eggs & pancakes, taco salad, stir fry, spaghetti, etc. All can be thrown together in a very short time.

I'm curious about the counselor. Can you share what happens there? How do they motivate you to change your behavior? What type of skills do they teach you?
-
I'd stick with the current plan for another week or two and then re-assess. Especially since he says he's not hungry.

What are your hubby's height & weight? One week is too short of a time to draw any conclusions. Most people shed a lot of water weight the first week or two. And then things slow down usually.
