  • The abandonment aspect obviously isn't me as I'm not married. I do know if I don't watch tv, I likely won't eat at night or won't eat as much. I lost weight in the past just keeping busy and mind occupied with no tv at night. Try incorporating some chores into your evening routine while watching tv. Fold laundry, type on…
  • Jessie's Girl by Rick Springfield, LOL!
  • Hi Lynn, feel free to add me. I need friends too that WILL comment, not just 'like' my posts. Otherwise why are we here on this site if not to motivate and be motivated by others? :)
  • I sent you an email. Feel free to add me. I get what you are going through. Hang in there! It will get better, just don't give up or you will be starting over again down the line. By the way, how many calories do you eat a day (an estimate)?
  • I'm 53. My advice is to find out what works for you now to help keep it off. It gets tougher at 50 and then you start getting lectures from drs. Menopause makes losing pretty tough too. Went through it, weight loss s-l-o-w-s. Get ahead of the game now. Exercise regularly, it's great for our bones, heart health, and overall…
  • New here! Like your thread here. Starting to think as we age, none of us 'feel' that we're old. I'm 53. I start to get annoyed when some 20-something year old employee (server/cashier) calls me 'hun' or 'sweetie' like I'm an old woman. Just leave it at 'Miss' or 'Ma'am'. LOL Men have it better, they are called sir whether…
  • I'm in too. 5 lbs sounds doable and signing up will keep me focused (I hope). Let's do this!
  • Like the article says, you get plenty of protein from your food, you don't really need the shakes. Vega brand really surprises me as they are very health focused so I'm blown away by the low score they received. They are a Canadian company. Live and learn I guess.
  • NO! You can't count caffeinated beverages as 'water' as those drinks DO dehydrate. Any doctor can tell you that much! You need to drink more water to make up for those caffeinated beverages. I know, I used to drink way too much caffeine and was dehydrated a lot.
  • I agree cheat days can just set you up for failing. How about a cheat 'snack' instead once a week? Not sure what you mean by the 'cheat day' if that means a full day? It doesn't take much to get your body craving bad things again after a bad day. Take it one day at a time. Treat yourself in other ways besides rewarding…
  • Hi Ladies, is anyone aware of any impact on blood sugars when IF'ing? I've heard varying opinions. My doctor was saying if you wait for long periods, like no eating after dinner til late morning, your glucose levels will likely elevate. Then I read the opposite elsewhere. I thought I would try it to kickstart my metabolism…
  • Might not want to use your photo if you want to be more anonymous, Lol!
  • Get some fitness friends to communicate with on a daily basis. Encouragement helps. It does take time. I was eyeballing calories and boy was I wrong! I stopped going out to eat because you wouldn't believe the huge calories that are hidden and you may be unaware of consuming. You think you're ordering healthy and then look…
  • I read intermittent fasting is great for elevated blood sugar. Increase fiber too, that's important when blood sugar is elevated. Hang in there. You can do it! Friend me if you want. Are there options for your medication, maybe switch to something else that works and doesn't increase blood sugars?
  • I get what you are going through. I workout almost daily and watch my intake and try to eat better and cut out the garbage. I've done this since January 1 and lost 3 lbs and then gained it back. Still working out. Maybe muscle? I keep going though as quiting is not an option and it'll only get worse. If you need support,…
  • Yes, I feel your pain. It's so easy to just cave when the scale isn't going down. I've done it and struggling currently to lose even though I work out regularly and cut calories and have been eating better. Add me if you need someone who gets it. Maybe we can be there for each other on this journey! hang in there.
  • It does take time to see changes after stopping sugar pop specifically. Even though it's not diet, there's still chemicals in it that can mess with your body. Keep pushing and give it a solid month before getting discouraged. You may be gaining muscle now. Inclines on treadmills really work the muscle, I know I have done…
  • LOL, count me in. I like to encourage and need encouragement. Send me a friend request! :)
  • Life-long Minnesota Vikings' fan! Hope to see you next week in the NFC title game!
  • MostlyWater, relax. Not everyone wants to do a photo of themselves and what's funny is you didn't, you posted a headless shot so it's not much different. I see a lot of requests like kirangarcha's and people do respond.
  • If you are looking for someone in your area or state to be friends with on page (some do), you can do a post and mention in subject line something like "Anyone in _____?". Otherwise, I'd say no on posting city.
  • I know if I add soda into my regular schedule I can easily gain 1-2 lbs a week, but losing it is always different. I think it's great you can go cold turkey. Most can't. If you find it becomes impossible, just try cutting down to a 22 oz from gas station or cut your intake in 1/2 daily. I drink the Diet Pepsi's and I'm…
