  • Lmao . . . I’m trying to figure out what a “kitten” body is exactly.
  • I quit smoking back in 2004 but didn’t really gain any weight. My real concern is ending up like my father, overweight, T2, high BP and not at all motivated to do anything but sit around in retirement; passed away within 2 years of hanging up work. I saw myself slowly headed in that direction.
  • Awful quiet here today, so I figured I would post something to jar folks. Q: What’s motivating folks to lose weight/get healthy. Mine is making sure I don’t become my father and last 2 years into retirement.
  • Boring day at the office. At least the weather has cleared up. Likely go for a walk tonight to burn some calories. Later
  • Stick with it brother, the reducing calories work. Read through any of the success stories and you will hear the same thing. Cutting back on the beer is sure to help. Empty calories, and probably not helping with you blood sugars either.
  • Well I hit the picnic hard and ended up have a few beers and a couple of glassses of wine (Red Cat too so it was worth it). Anyways I feel like I have a food hangover. Lots of activities planned for today so I’ll burn some of the water weight off pretty quick. I’m not weighing myself today either do I get a sense of the…
  • Traveling is always tough for me. It’s all about good choices. Good luck.
  • Long day and it’s only 1:30. I have a picnic this weekend where there will be plenty of smoked meats. I’m planning on burning about 800 or so calories on my bike ride tomorrow so that should help offset the inevitable pigging out I will do. I’m also going to stay clear of any alcohol, so that will help curb some of the…
  • Treadmill desk - Not sure I could do that. The whole open office and ergonomics desks movement is a bit much for me. I like my office, desk and reclining chair to much. Besides, does anyone really pay attention while on a conf call? 😂. So I say run hard while you’re on it. Later
  • Impromptu dinner last night and I gained a pound. However the dinner was a fundraiser so, it is what it is. Home all day today because of a leaky roof and the rain has stopped so I may get some exercise in today. Later.
  • Love the reply’s/comments. No worries to those of you older gents 😂, I was really just looking for guys married and struggling with their weight to connect with. Losing weight wasn’t really a problem for me in my twenties or thirties, it wasn’t until I got married and had kids that things slowed down considerably. Anyways…
  • Weather here is terrible and it really isn’t allowing any bit of exercise outside. Focusing on staying within my calorie allowance.
  • The rain is my excuse.
  • Don’t stop now.
  • Another day at the office. Lunch was pretty tasty though do that helped and I lost all my Red Lobster weightvftom the weekend so that was a nice surprise this morning. So gentlemen let’s keep it rolling.
  • Glad to see you back. I’m trying to come to the thread every day and post something, whether it’s helpful or complete BS it’s all the same to me because it’s keeping me in routine and accountable.
  • Stuck to my planed meal at Red Lobster and feel great about it. Surprisingly I’m not stuffed. Legs hurt from the bike ride but other than that I’m proud of myself for not deviating from my plan.
  • Yeah, the forties did me in as well. Metabolism really came to a halt around 41.
  • CW 227.2. Feeling pretty good about things. However, I’m headed to Red Lobster tomorrow night with the fam to celebrate a special occasion. I think I am going to pick my food out later today so I can attemp to keep within my goals and take a very long bike ride tomorrow morning.
  • I hear ya brother. Familiar story, trust me. Actually did pretty well today even though we went out for lunch. Good choices and I wasn’t so bloated when I went back to work.
  • Thx guys. Appreciate the support and encouragement. Actually lost the 2lbs that I gained because of it.
  • Blew it yesterday, ate 2 huge pieces of pizza. Back at it today.
  • Love this and so glad I started the thread. I had a terrible day yesterday. Was at a family baby shower and totally pigged. Had three winecoolers (Im not sure if they call them that anymore but ohh well). Anyways, put on 4lbs in 1 day, mostly water weight I’m sure. Anyways, it’s how we recover from failure that determines…
  • Part of my motivation is keeping myself healthy. I want to enjoy retirement, not be stuck because of my weight and health issues. The other part is keeping up with the kiddos. The other part is mental fitness as well. For me, keeping my stress level in check and not allowing the emotional eater to come out is a daily…
  • Progress CW: 230.4
  • Thanks for all of the replies. It seems we are all in need of some support, so I’m glad I started the thread. Anyways, I find that I am an emotional eater/binger. A lot of times when I’m really happy or stressed about work I will literally pig out. Keeping my emotions in check is key for me to be successful.
  • Thanks. I’m down a pound this week and all ready feel better, don’t feel so full and bloated.
  • Nice. I’ve been struggling maintaining the motivation. I started in January and got down to 223, but St Patty’s day everything went to hell with my eating and exercise. I topped out last week at 238.8 and got back on the wagon.
  • A good start is way better than no start. Keep it up.
