As far as weight loss is concerned, yes. It comes down to calories. Calories in calories out. With that being said though, remember that it helps a lot to be as accurate as possible . Food scale for solids, measuring cup for liquid. Learn how to weigh your foods and log them accurately. Remember that the data base is…

Welcome!

Awesome job! This thread made my day.
-
I would see a doctor.
-
it's more like - look at the level of dedication and hard work that I put in to get here. Not everyone is willing to put in the work that it takes. Like anything, people hate what they don't understand. Maybe instead of putting down other women , maybe try to build them up.
-
Agreed about majoring in the minors. Op your mixing up a bunch of stuff and making this way harder than it has to be.
-
Hello and welcome.

Are you creating a calorie deficit? Keto or not, you still need to create a calorie deficit in order to lose weight. Keto doesn't magically make people lose weight. You must create a calorie deficit.
-
If your serious then I would hire a coach. You obviously need some help if you're asking about calories and macros because that isn't a one size fits all type of thing. There's a lot of variables that go into it for each person. So it really sounds like you need do some research.
-
This really sounds unsustainable and probably won't give you the results you are looking for besides an initial water weight drop. I haven't consumed meat in over 30 years so I get that part but I have a feeling that you may think this will be just the same and it's not. If you want to lose weight then create a calorie…

Mfp already factors your Deficit in

Me too!

Have you ever heard the saying that goes something like- the day you started lifting is the day you became forever small because you will never be as big as you want to be? Even though it's used as a joke in a meme , it still holds very true. For a lot of us , As soon as we realize that we can do the extraordinary we will…
-
And I'd also love to hear how IF magically causes people to gain muscle.
-
Exactly. I'll never understand why people spread misinformation without thinking it all the way through. Like if IF causes weight loss without a calorie deficit, how could someone use it to maintain their weight? ( Lots of people do) If keto causes people to lose weight without a calorie deficit, how do people gain weight…
-
I personally don't care for keto because it isn't sustainable for me. I think low carb can be a great option for certain people with certain medical conditions though. Thankfully that's not me. There's a lot of people that make it out to be something it isn't. They make all these magical claims that aren't true so the…

Creating a calorie deficit causes weight loss. Calorie counting can work if you are as accurate as possible.
-
Feel better soon. Don't worry about it. I'm sure most of us have gotten sick and not been able to eat all of our allotment of calories for a day.
-
I would just wait because you'll be below 400 so soon anyway. It seems like it would be a waste of money to buy one now as long as your current scale is in good working order. Maybe you can pop into your doctor office in a few weeks or a month and check your weight there if you get curious. Just be aware that not all…
-
Mfp factors in a deficit already for you. So eat the number it gives you. Just be sure to be accurate as possible or it may not work. Get yourself a food scale and learn how to weigh and log your foods as accurate as possible.
-
It depends. What are your goals? Is your goal to lose weight? If so, all you need is a calorie deficit to lose weight so you'd still lose as long as you created a calorie deficit. Calorie deficit- weight loss. You can change your macro percentage to whatever you wish. Going in the red in a macro doesn't mean you won't lose…

So I'm going to fast all day. At dinner I'll eat 5000 calorie dinner and dessert and I'll still lose weight. Not a chance! Lol I wish that was the case but sadly it isn't. IF is not magic.
-
This is absolutely incorrect. A calorie deficit is still needed regardless. IF is not a magical way of losing weight. A calorie deficit is still needed. Posting misinformation like this is harmful to this community. People that don't yet know better may read this and believe that if they fast that they can eat at a calorie…

Could you imagine if it was only that easy? It would be nice! LMAO!

Please post your sources for this. Please post links to real research that supports your claim.

The irony .... Where did anyone say you are excluded because you feel differently? Who said your feelings aren't valid ? Nobody here would say that. You can't control who responds to you on message board. You can only control how you react/ reply. Sometimes it's helpful not to read intent and sometimes it may even be…
-
So true! The sunburn analogy is perfect. If a person is very insecure about their weight they could project those feelings and insert them in conversations about weight that are not intended to be hurtful.
-
Agreed. A lot of people seem to read into things that aren't there. They take things the wrong way. Communication though message boards is much different than real life. In real life you can see someones facial expressions and see that they are being cheerful, snarky, sad and such. It's much different on a message board…
