  • I’m not sufficiently knowledgable to know if this is woo-woo or not. This site makes an argument for more protein. https://examine.com/nutrition/how-much-protein-do-i-need/ Before you flag this as woo-woo how about posting here and explaining how you reached that conclusion. Seriously.
  • Definitely a bug. Hard to believe it still exists after so long. Hard to believe that MFP userss are screaming about this deep flaw. Here's what I just heard from MFP: JUL 10, 2018 | 04:13PM PDT Hello, Thank you for contacting us regarding your Apple Watch integration. At this time we are currently only reading the step…
  • Seems like smck42's approach will work: manually transfer the exercise ring from the AW to MFP. But, wow. I though MFP was supposed to be a good program. But, its CI function sucks because the database is so bad. And the CO function sucks, because it doesn't properly use the AW data. There are manual workarounds for the…
  • Can you clarify what you mean by that?
  • What is your source for this assertion?
  • Almost a vegan here, but some whey and some fish. For almost 40 years. Reading recently about the protein requirements to build muscle (perhaps as high as 1 gram/pound body weight according to some) and the real risk of muscle loss when in calorie deficient, I decided that getting enough protein to accomplish my goals…

  • I’m set for maintenance: zero weight change. So, as I noted in the OP, I’d think that MFP would predict I wouldn’t lose or gain on a 1 cal deficit. Anyway, thanks all for the answers. This isn’t a big deal to me.
  • I know you didn’t ask, but: Be sure to watch the C2 tutorial videos on their site. Go easy in the first few weeks so you don’t hurt yourself. A C2 Rower
  • Thanks, everyone, for the helpful posts. +1 for funchords for "Don't let the perfect become the enemy of the good." +10 for AnvilHead for pointing to this EXCELLENT tough love, straight-talking, no nonsense article at completehumanperformance: link which, IMO, should be pinned somewhere very visible here in the forum.
  • You have chosen a therapist and doctor whose professional opinions you trust. It also sounds like you have some fixed ideas about the path you’re going to take, and are not open to the suggestions from members of this group. My suggestion: print this thread out and take it to your doctor and therapist. Ask them for their…
  • How does it help in that way?
  • Suggestion: spend a few dozen dollars and get a private lesson. All of us (from competitive college to newcomers) can use some coaching now and then. It gives you somewhere to put your mind while you're working, and can prevent injuries. For example, fingertip drills can help avoid shoulder problems:…
