Yep, I get all my carbs from grains/oats, fruits, and plain dairy and veggies. I avoid added sugars from cokes and stuff, it just makes my cravingd worse :).

Heck I started noticing my clothes melt away the first 10 lbs I lost. Thanks water weight! Anyway, I started noiticing my facial features coming out (like high cheek bones and jaw line) after losing 30 lbs.

Nah, I'd say there's no specific reason why chocolate milk is recommended. It's mostly because of the carbs and protein that help you recover from a good workout. I personally just eat a banana with greek yogurt plain or raw almonds as my go-to recovery. I also have vanilla flavored protein power I use. I add in a cup of…

Good things: We had no shortage of food, and my mother often cooked meals. We also cooked and ate together. Bad: My parents didn't know or really care anything about nutrition, growing up my portion sizes were way too huge and they always gave me junk food like Happy Meals from McDonald's way too often. I was clinically…

I would understand cutting out dairy or grains because of a condition or just because it doesn't satisfy them, but really? A nutritionist saying that dairy and grains aren't the best for you? My dietician says to eat whatever suits my body and keeps me fuller longer. Personally, veggies don't keep me nearly as full versus…

Is there a reason they need to lose weight? Has their health professional said anything about them needing to lose weight? Children's calorie needs, depending on activity and age, are usually a lot more than ours. I am by no means a doctor, but it would be best to feed them a well balanced lunch. Since my younger cousin…

I'm 5'5, female, 18, and would consider myself for the most part very active. Still trying to find out my maintenance calories, but it is definitely above 2000. Eating 2100, if I'm still losing weight I'll eat 2200. It really does depend on a lot of things though, I only weigh 111 and am surprised I need more than 2000,…

This. I cut all forms of dairy out of my diet for only 2 years, and I started reintroducing it back into my diet my choosing lactose-free dairy. Reason why I wanted to consume dairy again because it's a decent source of calories and filling when I eat full-fat. It used to trigger harmonal issues with my skin, now that my…

Today I had 2 mandarins, some black beans (I don't think their veggies.. but you know), 85g of salad, large corn on cob, 8 oz of mushrooms, and I believe a banana. I need to check my diary.

During my weight loss and before, I had very high cholesterol as well. I lost 20-30 lbs and my ldls were still too high and my hdls were too low. However, once my journey was finished and switched to maintaining weight, my cholesterol dropped 100 points! It might be the same for you, I don't have insulin resistance issues,…

No problem :)! What I was meaning was that it would be best to weigh your chicken raw before it's cooked. So, if I were to have an 8 oz chicken and pop it in the oven, it would shrink to 4 oz. Many people would assume that's the correct portion, but the chicken should weigh to be 4 oz before it's cooked, and usually 2 or 3…

Yuck Almond butter?
-
I usually pack things I cooked from the night before, some days I'll have an almond butter sandwhich with 2 slices of whole grain bread with chicken or turkey on the side.
-
Just to add on to the advice above, I avoid them because some cooked entries say that a cooked chicken that is 4 oz skinless is 120 calories or so, but it shrinks after you cook it. It should be weighed 4 or so ounces (most serving sizes say it for the raw meat) So after you cooked 4 oz, it should only be around 2.5 oz..…

Actually, mine does. 5 weeks ago, it said I'd weigh 109.5 pounds. I did NOT want to lose any more weight, but didn't believe it. I just scoffed and went about my day. 5 weeks later, I hop on the scale and it reads, "109.5" Kinda scared me a bit, but I'm working on it.
-
To kinda add on to that, I would stick to the named brands. Some unnamed brands claim that an item has a ridiculous amount of calories when it really doesn't.
-
Can you see the nutrition facts on the bag of chicken you buy? Generally, what I'll do is put in the exact brand name (like you did), and view the nutrition facts in the entry and compare them to the physical nutrition facts on the bag of chicken sitting beside me. If I see too many conflicting numbers, I just click an…

Being hungry all the time definitley doesn't sound like something's right. Do you know what keeps you full longer? (Like fat and protein?) If so, I would eat more fillimg foods and try to knock out foods that don't give you energy all that much. Helped with me a lot.

Sometimes when I get emotional, I will turn food away. As a female that has PMDD, it can be a struggle FEEL like eating sometimes. I have to force myself to eat something, because if I don't I'll just become weak and dizzy the next day. Sometimes I forget to eat meals from being too busy (which is usually lunch), so I'll…

I usually eat 250g+ carbs, 85-100g of fat, and around 100-120g of protein. I try to avoid filling up on carbs (used to eat 300) because fat and protein keeps me fuller.

I wanted to stay at 120, but actually went under that weight. I'm currently maintaining, so I'm not too concerned. I feel proud for losing 50 lbs, I sometimes feel insecure about my stretch marks and cellulite, but I've accepted that they are a part of my life now. Sometimes I doubt myself that I'm not "doing good enough",…

I like popcorn and hummus, or popcorn with yellow mustard. Hummus with almonds. Hummus with everything. I also like plain yogurt slathered on whole grain bread.. or extra virgin olive oil on my toast...

wow, it's quite interesting to read all of your responses :)!

I'm still trying to find out my calories to maintain as well, I originally did 1800 cals. I was losing a lb a week, I'm female and weigh about 111 lbs, and I would consider myself pretty active. 1900 and 2000 calories I still lose weight, now now I'm trying 2150 and see what my body does. I weigh my food and measure my…

yep the onion ring counts, love those things.

I think I would be on the toilet all day if I were you XD

I eat first thing in the morning. I used to believe (no longer) that if you worked out on an empty stomach, you'd lose more weight. Later, I found out that all it did was make my workout sloppy and my appetite increase so much, to where I would overeat. Generally, I eat most of my calories/carbs in the morning, and then do…

I actually just tried a sweet potato for my first time (I know, shocker lol). I thought it was delish, it tastes/smells pretty much identical to russet potatoes, only sweeter and it looks orange. I am not against potatoes, bananas, rice, bread, or pasta. They fit in my calorie goals, so I enjoy them. I wouldn't say you…

I have a close friend that has Crohn's.. I have no idea what it feels like, but she ended up gaining weight from it. I guess it affects everyone differently? I was going to say eat peanut butter, but the fat content might be a problem. Applesauce sadly isn't very high calorie, but it isn't a solid and may pass through. I…
