My local DICK'S has those Brooks running shoes, I'm going to get these as well after seeing all the positive ratings. Right now I'm using Nike. But I'm not going to be doing my cardio workouts for about 3 weeks or until the pain is entirely gone. I do admit for the past 2 years or so, I never ever gave myself resting days,…

Ah, I've heard about the shoe thing so far. I've been using Nike, but next weekend I'm going to run out and buy real running shoes designed for it, and probably some soles as well. Thanks for the tips :)

I'm sorry you had to go through that :(. I can kinda understand about your switching moods, but mine are moment-to-moment and extremely intense. I'm not sure if you saw, but I do have a family member with Bipolar II, so I can feel your pain there. Last year my grandma had a horrible episode that made her impulsive without…

I'm experiencing the same behavior on Risperidone, except I usually ignore the hunger pangs and I'll find myself thinking, "Did I eat too few calories or something? No.. It's just the medicine." The day seems fine though, but I have to eat as soon as I'm up because my stomach will feel like a bottomless pit in the morning,…

I totally understand what you've gone through, when I told my friends and family about the diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder it's like they're walking on eggshells around me, some think it makes people crazy. My brother has Antisocial Personality Disorder and gets a similar reaction. Ugh. For my birth control I…

Right now Risperidone is what's being tested right now, if I don't do well on this drug then I'll be said to switch up to Abilify and see how that goes, my mom took this and it worked well without much weight gain (maybe 5 lbs at most). I have also read that atypical antipsychotics are usually associated with more weight…

Very inspiring! Nice weight loss, man!

Oh yes, I got some bloodwork done in April and my thyroid seems to be in healthy condition. One of my hormone levels is quite low though, which is why I have to use hormone therapy to get cycles every month. I've been taking Trinessa for the hormone issue, and have been able to lose weight, but got switched to Lo Lesterin…

I understand, I have a grandmother who suffers from Bipolar Disorder as well, which I believe she's taken some of those medications in the past, too (she also has Schizophrenia, which is why she's in the hospital every few months :( ) When I went for my visit the psychiatrist she ruled out mood disorders, so I actually…

I hope the best goes through to your path :). *Hug* I'm currently taking 0.5mg of Risperidone and it makes me want to devour everything, but I've been using strong self-control to not overeat because it's just the medication. I've been on Trinessa birth control and it made me quite ravenous the first few months, but after…

I usually have 550-700 calories for breakfast, I load up on carbs because I do my workouts in the morning.

Your condition sounds really concerning.. I pray that you can make it through this. I had and still am struggling with Anorexia Nervosa, even though I've gotten help for it 2-3 years ago the road to recovery is very long.. You can do this. Trust me, at first it will feel like emotional hell, but after a while it DOES get…

Thanks for the advice. I have also noticed increased appetite on this medicine, I'll be making sure my logging is as accurate as possible :)!

1.) Food scale 2.) MFP 3.) Peanut Butter 4.) Running Shoes 5.) Body Scale 6.) Rock/Metal music

Yep, so the sugar in fruit is literally processed the same way if you were to eat ice cream. The key reason why many people would prefer you to eat fruit instead is because it contains something *most, not all* "sugary" products don't have: Fiber. This prevents blood sugar spikes, which is why I'd rather have fruit than a…

That loss sounds way too fast, I don't mean to sound like the one person that wants to rain on a parade. So you lost nearly 17 pounds in less than 3 weeks? It's suggested to generally not lose more than 2 lbs per week.. It might just be mostly water loss.

"HALF-WAY THERE!!" Plays in my head.

Lol I love quinoa XD, but it does taste pretty awful without seasoning.

I went to Kroger's and saw that an oversized cupcake was nearly 800 calories! What is it made out of, pure lard?!
-
I get into an awful mood when I don't get enough carbs. That goes with any macro.
-
I usually like mine when they're green/yellow to almost entirely brown. They're sweet like that!
-
You're so lucky! Where I live you've got to go to the big Kroger's or order online..

I don't think that anxiety is a direct cause of weight gain, or vice versa. I find being stressed out increases my hunger, which would cuase me to overeat, and if I do it enough, will gain weight. I would suggest some therapy, to try and find out where the root of this anxiety is coming from.
-
I also cast my vote on fruit!

My own mother says it looks like I have cancer, which in my opinion was way too far. I personally don't think I look 'too skinny' at all, sure I could probably gain some weight and still be healthy/look healthy, but when it starts getting to the point of feeling insecure is where I draw the line.

Dang.. Navel oranges are really good though, too. But bananas and PB have been like drugs to me so I choose bananas XD.
-
Bananas!

I could never agree more. I wouldn't want anyone to go through what I did.

Yes, the advice above is my advice also. If you're exercising, especially daily, you will need to eat some of those calories back, and make sure you get a decent amont of protein to retain some muscle.

I was actually misdiagnosed with just having Depression and Anxiety, and found out it was a much more serious issue that that.. I'm open with having had an ED, and struggling with personality disorders. I fight with myself every day and it's exhausting. Sometimes I just lay in bed all day and want to sleep, without eating…
