I feel like a whole new person! Everything about me has changed! My energy level has gone through the roof, I’m more aware of my food triggers and what and when my body needs nutrients, I’m less anxious, Pain has drastically decreased, and I’m held accountable. It inspired me to become a nutrition coach! Everyone I know keeps looking at me funny but I’m doing it and it’s approved by my doctor for me. I went from morbidly obese to obese. Anyone else lose that much in that short of time span and have you have any negative effects? I’ve noticed none with the program I’m on but I’m curious as to others?

What diet did you use? I’ve had a dramatic weight loss too which resulted in low potassium which was not good at all!5

What program are you using & is it sustainable? That is a lot in a very short amount of time, some could be water weight. No matter what, congrats on your loss! A loss is always exciting. I hope it continues going well for you.1

That loss sounds way too fast, I don't mean to sound like the one person that wants to rain on a parade. So you lost nearly 17 pounds in less than 3 weeks? It's suggested to generally not lose more than 2 lbs per week.. It might just be mostly water loss.3

OP was morbidly obese though...it's not atypical to lose a lot of weight pretty fast when morbidly obese. They have the fat stores to support it, plus a good chunk of that is water and less waste in the system. It will ultimately slow to a normal rate of loss unless the OP is drastically under-eating.11 -
I lost 20 in 3 weeks when I started too, it's not that uncommon when you're starting high. Lost 60 in 90 days, both the nutritionist and doctors and 2 full blood tests and urine tests say what I'm doing is fine, and that eventually it'll level off. I say good for you OP, and keep up the good work even when it slows down and becomes more like 2 lbs a week. Just make sure not to keep cutting food more and more when it starts to slow, because that's when the problems start. No other side effects, have gotten a little backed up sometimes when my fiber intake isn't high enough, but added fiber pills and other high fiber foods in to counteract. Congrats on your rapid start and the beginning of your new life.7
