Do NOT join Crossfit without having any lifting experience/athletic background. Just... don't. Focus on form. Don't lift with your ego. Do everything with conscious intent. Learn how to breathe and brace. Take care of your joints. Be patient and consistent. And, like others have said, the importance of macros!

Try adding creatine supplementation to your regimen.

I wear mostly Banana Republic suits for work. They have a good curvy pant line.

Made some really solid connections. It helps to stay accountable! For the record: I bravely welcome any comments on my food choices. 😁

Welcome to weight training! As said above, there are vast psychological benefits to lifting weights. Personally, it has changed my inner life and is an absolute necessity for my mental health. Contrary to a poster above, I would not recommend starting strength for an absolute beginner, at least not without a trainer. But…

This is pretty much exactly how I'm feeling now. I've gone a few weeks without tracking and have enjoyed the natural flow, but now I'm starting to feel like a chicken with its head cut off, and it's increasingly difficult to remember past performance. I need to try one of these apps! I also appreciate the other points of…

Thanks for your insights! Which app do you use?

From nyc. “Retired” to Central Florida a couple of years ago. 😄 Hi all!

I went premium for the barcode scanner and no ads. Those two things are essential for me to enhance ease, minimize annoyance, and keep me going on here. I think there are some other macro premium features as well, like customized goals, that aren’t available in the free version. Overall I find it to be a worthy investment!

Hi Emery! This hits home for me. I am an eating disorder and trauma survivor as well. Strength training is one of the main things that saved my life… growing and feeling strong, not being afraid to take up space, learning about and connecting to my body. I am grateful for this journey, and the healing process continues to…

I use Promix Nutrition for my supplements. It’s on the expensive side, but I trust the brand. Recently started their micronized monohydrate creatine, and it definitely works 😅 it’s a USA-based company though.

Oatmeal with blueberries, banana, raw almond, and collagen mixed in. Iced coffee with a splash of whole milk. 😋

Very helpful tinkerbellang83. Thank you!

Thanks sardelsa! I’m trying to maintain/recomp over time. I’m pretty happy with where I’m at. I have days where I feel like I want to bulk and days where I feel like I want to cut, so I think it’s best for my sanity to maintain. Lol. I do know that I prefer a diet higher in fat than carbs.
-
By “accurate” I mean best for my body type and goals. So whether I choose a macro plan that is higher in fat by ratio or high in carbs is my personal preference?

Seafood (cod, tuna, salmon most regularly) and plant proteins

I guess I’m the douche bag 😬
-
I’ll be honest here, I don’t have any bad association with the brand. Perhaps I’m becoming more judgmental towards “trends” as I get older.
-
Indeed! However, it is natural to have judging thoughts, and I am just curious if anyone else has the same. 😊

The tights I always end up wearing until they are about to fall off are my Old Navy tights!

Yes! Willing to settle on two 😂 Are you still doing strong curves?

I like this program too, but I agree; I would like some more glute focus. Could I just add bridges or hip thrusts, etc to a lower day?
-
Thank you for your recommendation! In doing a few minutes of research, I like the sound of this program. Do you find that one day a week for legs is enough to maintain your current lower body mass and/or build more?

Once every couple of weeks... sometimes less, sometimes more. Lol

You can't compare the two, but they could compliment each other nicely to achieve good results. It depends on your personal goals and interests.
