Thanks for everyone’s advice! I usually wear really cheap clothes for exercise, and actually never before thought about investing into some thermal wear! My gym is about a 15 minute walk from my apartment and making that walk as cozy as possible will make working out way more appealing. Plus I liked hearing about all the…

It sounds like you’ve been making a lot of changes at once, which is definitely overwhelming. You’ve got a lot on your plate! Back around April I was in a similar state. I was super controlled with my food intake and exercising at least 5 days a week. I think the breaking point for me was when I went home to visit my…

That’s a good point. I think somehow I convinced myself that maintenance consisted of logging even more strictly and being perfect all the time. But in the end it’s all a balancing act and there are ways to strike that balance that use the same skills I used losing the weight.

That’s a good point. I haven’t even lost quite as much weight as others on here but I still have trouble mentally adjusting to my new size. Especially after being overweight for most of my life. I think I still see myself as that same chubby girl some days.

Thanks for sharing your process! I think the idea of introducing more snacks really appeals to me, as opposed to altering the size of my regular meals. I think I’ve become really intimidated by maintenance, but there’s a lot of ways to get there beyond pure weighing.

That’s pretty reassuring for me. I usually jump back up to around maintenance or a little over one or two days of the week while I’m losing. I guess I built maintenance up to be something totally foreign but I can still use a lot of the same patterns I’m using now to lose weight.

That’s a good point. I did notice a dramatic difference in my shape when I dropped from 130 to 120. Perhaps I need to be more patient and make a decision once I reach 110.

If you feel comfortable sharing, could you talk more about struggling to transition to recomp? Something I’m worried about is keeping my calories consistent and being accurate enough with my logging. I do use a food scale but weighing everything tends to make me a little anxious. I’d be interested in hearing what you…

Thanks for linking that post! There’s a lot of good info there. If you feel comfortable sharing, could you speak a bit about your transition into eating at maintenance? My intake is pretty inconsistent so I struggle with the concept of eating a consistent amount of calories a day. Or are there any resources you’ve found…

I’ll have to start doing more tests like that before I start dumping random veggies into my food haha

Interesting! I wonder if the acidity from the tomato cuts through the slime like vinegar would

Pass my gratitude on to your sister! I really should invest in a slow cooker.

That’s good advice! I think I’ll try to rinse the non tainted ingredients off but if that doesn’t work omelettes it is! The soup idea intrigues me but I only have a little nutribullet. Potato sounds like it could even out the texture.

I’m totally an emotional eater as well. Of course, the ideal solution would be to resolve the root of your stress, but that’s a hefty task. I think a couple of things helped for me. I don’t keep any snack foods around my home if I can help it. If I slip up and purchase something that doesn’t suit my goals I either bring it…

Using stress balls is an excellent idea. Do you have a link to the thread on increasing NEAT? By the way I just want to really thank everyone who replied. These ideas are all really helpful. Plus, I’ve never posted in the community before but it makes me feel less alone to hear about others who struggle with anxious…

Thanks for all the advice. Bringing in healthy snacks to share sounds like a really good idea, especially since my coworkers all like fruit. Also I never thought of using fidgeting as a way to relieve stress. Since I work at a computer I can’t get anything done if I’m out on a walk but maybe jiggling my leg while I keep…

I work in IT so most of my team consists of a bunch of tall skinny men. They really enjoy the snacks so I’d feel very bad about moving it to a move inconvenient place. We usually get fruit as well as candy but the fruit is gone usually pretty quickly. Is there any non perishable cheap low calorie snack? I thought about…
