I know it's a few days late, but I FINALLY got below 163 pounds (162.5 this morning)! I hit 163 three weeks ago, and had been oscillating between 163-165 since. So, yay! Hope this is the beginning of another few pounds off... I would LOVE to be comfortably in the 150s by Thanksgiving.

Started keto 29 July 2018 SW: 178 GW: 138 09/30: 164.5 10/07: 163.5 10/14: 163 10/21: 164.5 10/28: This is within my regular fluctuation, and I'm not surprised. We went to a Halloween party last night, and I had a few fun size Butterfingers (I only eat these once a year), and the chili at the party had beans and corn.…

I went over my calories at times…

Xanthan gum... just don't use too much at once or it won't work right.

I added a magnesium citrate supplement in the evening... took a few days, but things are moving!

Solo, but with a supportive spouse. He keeps non-keto foods on shelves too high for me to see what's on them, and cooks what I can eat when he makes us meals.

Started keto 29 July 2018 SW: 178 GW: 138 09/30: 164.5 10/07: 163.5 10/14: 163 10/21: 10/28: 15 pounds down, 25 to go! I dropped the half pound early in the week, and was hoping to drop more, but I wasn't able to make it to my muay thai classes this week. Monday it was closed due to the federal holiday, on Wednesday I…

Almond flour won't work as a thickener. Pick up some xanthan gum, and use use about 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon per 1 cup of flour called for in a recipe.

I'm also 15 pounds down, and one of the slower losers on keto, dropping .5-1.5 pounds a week (mostly closer to .5-1 average). I have 25 pounds to go, which will be a total loss of 40 pounds. I aim for under 30 net carbs, and often I'm closer to 20 net. For me the key is hitting my protein macros, which I find easiest to do…

SW (29 July 2018): 178 GW: 138 09/30: 164.5 10/07: 163.5 10/14: 10/21: 10/28: Another pound down, for 14.5 total loss; I hit that on Friday morning, and the scale didn't budge one way or the other yesterday or this morning. Might be a bit much to hope for, looking at my weight loss pattern, to hit 158 by the end of the…

SW: 178 CW: 164.5 GW: 138 09/30: 164.5 10/07: 10/14: 10/21: 10/28: This month I plan to focus on working out. I do muay thai, but because of being out of town for work and a trip, I barely made a class in the past two months. My goal will be going three times a week. The mid-160s is an ambivalent weight area for me. While…

Next month I will be able to be more active and in control of my food (was away from home a lot this month, so less ability to plan/determine menus). Fingers crossed for closer to two pounds down…

Spiced eggs with sour cream. It's a brinner night here!

When was the last time you recalculated your macros, and which calculator are you using? I've found the ketogains calculator is more conservative than most, which has helped me with loss. I also recalculate every 10 pounds down so I continue eating at a caloric deficit. If you aren't already, up the protein and lower the…

My husband and I were visiting his mom and her fiance for about a week and a half this month, during which I didn't weigh myself because they don't have a scale. I was able to eat keto except for one planned cheat meal (drank more wine and vodka than recommended over the trip as well, I'm sure). Anyway, down 3.5 pounds…

I lost 2.5 pounds on my trip visiting my in-laws!!! I hadn't had a chance to weigh myself since 09 September (no scale there), so almost two weeks, and jumped on the scale this morning now that we are home. Looking forward to seeing if I can lose any more before Sunday's check-in! On the trip, I was able to eat keto all…

Hey there... at 12.5 pounds down since 29 July (averages out to about 1.5 per week), I'm also a slow loser. I find trying new keto recipes and figuring out substitutions you like help a lot. Be sure you watch your caloric intake, and focus on hitting your protein goals (avoid fat bombs unless you're enjoying the occasional…

Pay friend $1 for each net carb over goal daily. The buddy system is great for support, but I've found it's hard to keep it up long term without a consequence built in. You can work in caveats for special circumstances, holidays, etc, of course.

I use the ketogains calculator, which often gives a higher protein amount. The idea behind this is that, when trying to lose weight, you want your body to burn your fat stores for energy, and it will do that better when you aren't eating so much of it, since it will go to burn that first. My goals are 30 net carbs (I often…

I'm still on vacation, so no scale available for a weigh-in, BUT I've been great about eating keto, and I've lost another half inch from my hips and waist (measuring tape is easier to travel with than a scale). I have no clue what, if any, weight I've lost while here, but my pants and shorts are definitely looser. I will…

I track calories, fat, protein, and (net) carbs. I don't hit my goals for each one every day (though I'm good about sticking under my carb goal regularly), but by seeing all of them I can recognize trends and ensure I avoid pitfalls.
-
If you're looking to lose weight, avoid the fat bombs and focus more on protein. Even in ketosis, calories still count. The Ketogains calculator is pretty good for helping with macros. I'm a slow loser too, and it can be frustrating, but it's working. Good luck!!!

Another week of vacation with the in-laws to go, and have been eating on track (though more wine & vodka than usual). My MIL does not always get keto, but oh well... she will such as ask if I want ice cream, planned a meatloaf with breadcrumbs (I pulled off some meat prior to that addition and made a burger patty), and…

In addition to less hunger overall, I find I have better control over things that previously I would wolf down. For example, yesterday we were at a diner with amazing biscuits and gravy, and I had a lovely omelet, no toast or potato sides, and treated myself to one small spoonful of the gravy from my husband's breakfast.…

Arrived at my MIL's home for a week and a half visit. She made biscuits and gravy with eggs this morning (she wasn't aware of my doing keto). I had less than half a biscuit, not a lot of gravy, and focused on eggs. I think, so long as I watch it the rest of the day, I won't be knocked off track. She's told me to let her…

I'm a slow burner as well, even though I work out, which includes a mix of strength & cardio (muay thai). I started six weeks ago, and *just* today hit the 10 pounds down mark, which means 25% to goal. It's frustrating, but if you are losing, even small amounts, then there is success. Have you been tracking measurements?

Keto Start: 29 July 2018 SW: 178 GW: 138 Sunday 09/02: 168.5 Sunday 09/09: 168 Sunday 09/16: Sunday 09/23: Sunday 09/30: This was a plateau week for me, made more frustrating because my body kept teasing me with a you're-almost-10-pounds-down dance, hovering at 9-9.5 pounds off. Finally hit the 10 pound mark this morning,…

I just made a caprese salad. Quick and easy, and you can make enough to last for a few days.

Almost six weeks in myself, and feeling good overall, though I haven't lost as much as others seem to on keto (my body collects pounds like trading cards, and hangs on to them for dear life). I'm 9.5 down, with 30.5 to go.

I find topping my eggs with varying things helps with keeping things interesting (and simple). Like one day do sour cream and salsa, another day a bunch of cheddar, mexican crema another day, etc etc.
