Re - look at your eating habits, food / beverages recorded, consider that with weight loss your metabolism goes down as well - I still don't believe that there is a "plateau". When I gained weight I didn't sit on a plateau at any time - I just gained weight.

Eventually I realized that food cravings have something to do with my daily macros intake. I have made small adjustments when necessary and haven't had cravings for a long time now.

Don't stress. Trust the calculations provided for by MFP and learn from members who have been successful. Take it step by step, one day, one meal at a time. Any finally: don't stress.

Depends whom you are married to... :)
-
You look good! Are you still married? :)

Stick to MFP, let them do the calculations - for me the huge advantage is that I can choose my daily macros and adjust them if different seasons demands it. Seems to me that MFP offers the most flexible healthier life style which I can follow very long term - not just a "diet".

If I think that I am really hungry I first try to establish if I am "hungry" or "thirsty". Usually a good cuppa does the trick. If I feel hungry outside of my normal meal times, I double check that I have eaten enough protein.
-
If I feel hungry (or peckish) later in the evening I usually haven't eaten enough protein during dinner time. In that case I'll have a slice of cheese, a few spoons of yoghurt or cottage cheese or a boiled egg. Works for me. And I just don't keep cookies and all other items which I know are my "trigger foods" at home.…

Hungarian cabbage stew and 2 eggs. Spicy, spicy!

You look great! Any idea how much did your extra skin weigh? I have lost 45 kg so far and my body is starting to wobble about a bit. Now at least I can say: "It's not the fat, it's all that extra skin..." :)

Air cannot fry anything - it is heat and oil which does the frying. No oil used at all? Try steaming, poaching, boiling, drying etc.

I grow lots of fresh herbs - once a week or so I use a few bunches of whatever grows best, take onion, red peppers, pickled cucumbers - sometimes a bit of chilies - or garlic - or ginger - or lemon zest - or whatever comes to my mind - and chop it roughly in the food processor with some vinegar: apple or red or white or…

When I grew up, I was told that children were starving to death by the thousands in Biafra - and: "how dare you leaving good food on your plate? Your mother was slaving over the stove and hot pots for hours on end, is that how you are re - paying her? You better eat what's on your plate, or else!"

Try to stand up whilst working at your computer. Or get yourself a Swiss ball to sit on. Every calorie burned counts.

Bed rest and a good book.

I have noticed for myself that when I felt like "cheating" my daily macros did not give my body what it needed. I made small macros adjustments and that was that. My macros requirements do change from season to season a little bit and I do take this into consideration.

I leave my walking shoes right in front of the door. I look at them in disgust but put them on anyway, because my wife wants me to fix the lawnmower so I can cut the grass and because the dogs are hauling because they want to go for a walk. Then I look out of the window and see my gorgeous neighbour getting ready for her…

How long did it take you to gain your first st and 8 lb? At least the same time to lose it again, possibly a little bit longer.

Something you can't eat - caring and love.

I prepare different flavoured jellies with fresh fruit. Easy to stare in containers in the fridge and around 100 calories a piece.

My favourite: peeled carrot through the food processor blade - not too fine. Add a fresh red chili, a touch of sweetener, a little salt and the juice of a lemon. Serve with a blob of plain yoghurt. Keeps well in the fridge for a day or two.

...and J.M's. opinion is important because?.....

What are your macros percentages?

I used to have them too - finally realized if I make small adjustments on my daily macros I don't feel like binge - ing any longer. Seems to me that the body is craving something...

About 9 months - simply because I didn't realize that after a good weight loss of about 45 kg (100 pounds) I had reached calorie maintenance level! Still can't believe how stupid I was...

I think one of the main reasons why MFP works so very well is that they do all the calculations for you but allow you to choose your own macros. I had a good look at my "trigger food", I learned about "food stacking" and so much more from all those supportive members. Over the last 650 days (weight loss so far 45 kg) my…

Hi Wayne, I joined MFP with "only" 27 stone and for me MFP and all those supportive members was and is a God's sent. Even I (!!!) have learned a lot about food, beverages, exercise and so much more. Seems to me that every single person out there has their own unique challenges, their own likes and dislikes and my challenge…

Oven grilled or charcoal grilled mushrooms stuffed with cottage cheese, herbs, ginger, touch of garlic and fresh chilies.

Tricky one - I need the right macros combination so I enjoy my food during my very long - term weight loss journey and I have a balanced diet. And than there are those calories: which means portion control, portion control and some more portion control. Looks like I can't do one without the other.
-
Thanks to MFP and its members I now understand "trigger food(s)" and "food stacking". Now about something called "portion control"....
