  • Trainers are required for professional athletes, but for us? Not so much. But just like the professionals, fitness programs are tailored to meet your needs and goals. That said, Arnold's programs are probably the best and probably will be for a very long time. Search it out and tailor it to your needs. The kicker for most…
  • 1800 at 5'9"! Try 2400...there's no hurry; if you gain, you can always lose. If you are hungry, eat. Just be careful what you eat. Yesterday, I ate 3500 and the scale this a.m. read 167, a loss of 2 over the last few days. I ride on the trails here for an hour and do free weights at the home gym every other day. Summer on…
  • I don't know a man who doesn't have a top secret stash of the good stuff. A man has gotta eat what's he gotta eat, even if he has to sneak. If he keeps doing it, withhold until he folds. (Good thing this is anonymous. The bros would beat me for divulging secrets)
  • A slice of toasted organic bread or sougdough, bit of jam and I'm set.
  • I weigh myself every morning to set my day's exercise routine and caloric intake.
  • 60 minutes riding bicycle. 30 minutes walking said bicycle up monster hills. Rode fast motorcycle up (and down) the mountain. Light day for this old man.
  • My scale doesn't move, but I think it's a liar. To prove it, I bought another one and set it next to the suspect. Sure enough, the old scale was off by 1-2 pounds until I reset it. Also, it would read 174 every morning until reset. Now, 1-2 pounds isn't a big deal, but it's annoying. I'm keeping both scales until I get…
  • I want less friends. Do not bug me.
  • Good job. It seems most of our generation got on that fat train. I didn't, but I did catch the ugly express...lol.
  • Yep. Like your doc friend, it sets up my day for exercise and/or calories.
  • My max weight was 205 lbs and that was 15 years. I freaked and started my diet.
  • Everyone is young compared to you. Get off my street.
  • My wife and I tired each other out most every night. The resultant large family kept me awake, so we tired each other out some more resulting in a larger family. eh...see a doctor.
  • 40 years ago at my first gym membership in Golds Venice Beach, I was admiring my 14" biceps. The bodybuilder across the room called out to me, "Mirrors lie". That was when I decided my goal was health, not looks. I never did get my biceps past 14", but Ruiz, Jr will testify that size don't matter...lol
  • I just started the maintenance part of this app. It gave me an extra 500 calories, to 2600, because of my active lifestyle. Is that what you experienced?
  • Running and biking never thrilled me. If I did either of those, I'd just ride my motorcycle..:) Give me 10 miles of hiking trails 4 times a week and I'll burn off calories fast and enjoy my Mother Earth. (and yes, this old man is well protected on those lonesome hills)
  • Depends on the season. Spring/summer will have me walking 2 hours (7 miles) at least 4 times a week. This cuts into my (home) gym routine by half, easy. Fall/winter will have me doing free weights app. 1 hour four times a week.
  • 'Grats! I'm a few pounds under my target weight, but something has been bugging me for a while now. It's great we're concerned about our weight. I've been fit almost for my entire 61 years, but really...why are we obsessing about a pound or two? I think relaxing and enjoying the challenge is better for the long term and…
  • Hot links with hot mustard and sauerkraut, veggie baked beans, and purified water. Can't be vegan all the time.
  • Get a check up AND tell your doctor all that. Could be a blood or liver issue.

  • It takes a month to get fat and six months to lose it.
  • Winter. I'm up north where the days are 7 hours long and nothing much to do most of the time outdoors. 10lb gain every single winter and drop it like a stone come March. I do use the weight to try to gain a few cm on my arms.
  • I'm almost 62, 5'10", 176lbs, 14% body fat. Regular gym sessions I curl 110lbs/set, deadlift 350lb/sets. On the weekends, a 10 mile hike is the norm. The most I've weighed was 210 after quitting cigarettes almost 20 (!) years ago. That weight didn't last long. Hated every minute, so I watch my weight like a madman now.…
  • You know you're *not* a foodie when sour cream was used on 4 days of cheese lunch sandwiches and you didn't notice. Hey, the squeeze bottles look similar sorta.
  • I eat more when I exercise or work hard. I had to learn to adjust my calories when I wasn't burning them or else gain quickly.
  • Hard to do on your own at first. A gym like Anytime Fitness has major internet training and diet programs and trainers at their gyms. I'm 62 and have had a gym membership since I was 18 and it has paid for itself many times over. *Have fun*
  • Yep, I'm almost 62. 178 lbs, 14% body fat, 130lbs/set curls, 400lb sets deadlifts. Walk 6 miles round trip to the gym on my days off and not pouring rain... This is a good diet tool. Very good.
  • Yep. As soon as I put it in writing, I saw it. Like I said, though, innocent snacks can be evil. I cook most of my vegetarian food and use very little no-sodium-salt, so my misguided thought process was that the salt from the innocently evil snacks wasn't nuttin'. If the hippie snack causes problems, I'll spot it.…
