  • Pettiest/most insecure reason I work out is that I don't like hitting my sister's size (she's taller, so her body shape typically makes her one size bigger). Another is that I like to eat dessert.
  • You could try looking for a fruit that you do like (by trial and error) and/or hide a fruit in a mostly green smoothie! But if you don't like fruit, why force yourself? You can surely find other nutrient sources for what you're missing from fruits.
  • I track my weight but I have a range that I don’t get bothered by since it fluctuates pretty often. I’m not, at the moment, trying to lose or gain weight though, so it’s just other way of checking in on my general health and fitness. I take measurements and go by how my clothes fit me mostly.
  • You don’t necessarily have to lose weight, you have to lose fat. You’re likely losing fat but building muscle, which is why your weight isn’t changing but you’re getting thinner. I think measurements will be better indicators of this. Also, I think a good diet is subjective but if your goal is to eat clean for fat loss,…
  • Thanks for the advice! MFP says my maintenance is 1560 calories but I’m usually eating 1600-2000 (I log completely every now and then just to get a good idea of my calorie intake) and stay within 96-98lbs. I’m happy with how I’m eating now but I’ll watch my fruit and crackers snacking and incorporate more protein to see if…
  • @sardelsa you were actually someone who recommended the program to me in a previous thread hahah. You recommended a lean bulk as well. Haven’t thought about it but I’ve noticed I’ve started eating more? Mostly an extra serving of meat with dinner or I’ll double up on my fruit when I snack. I don’t like to count calories…
  • Balsamic vinegar and vinaigrettes
  • I do 1600-2000 depending on if I workout or not. I eat 3 meals plus 2 snacks and just increase the amount if I feel hungry. 5’0 and 98lbs.
  • I think everyone’s got it covered ^^ so I just wanted to wish you luck! On top of the suggestions, I think something small you could do is have a glass or two of green tea every day. Cutting out sugary drinks and replacing with just water or tea will really add up over the days. Don’t know if it’s just me but green tea…
  • I struggled with this at the start! Mostly it was because I didn’t want to look dumb. I had my best guy friend come with me and teach proper form. If ever I want to try a new move, I ask to be taught again. It honestly took a couple weeks of getting used to and sometimes I still feel a little silly carrying these small…
  • I just ask what’s their best item in the menu or for recommendations. I don’t go out too often (because I’m a college student with a small weekly budget) so if I do end up eating out to celebrate something or if I’m with my family, I try not to be so hard on myself with the food choices. Usually something with chicken,…
  • I struggle with this, too! When I started out, I had my best guy friend come with me and teach me proper form. A lot of the time I just try to adjust my way of thinking as letting those guys lifting heavy encourage me to lift heavier than I’m used to as well. I both regret and am glad for it the next day. I learned to…
  • @psuLemon You are a doll! I’ll invest in some protein powder to add into my morning coffee instead of milk and stevia. Will try out your StrongCurves program suggestion before the bulk/cut as I’ll likely have to build up slowly on my eating habits. Aside from being taught the basic moves and given a workout routine by a…
  • Lower BF % but same weight. At 5"0, I'm 98 pounds and don't want to go lower. I'm not opposed to going a bit higher as it'll be muscle weight anyway. I'm hoping to catch my glutes up to my quads as well (I do different squat variations and probably too little moves that activate my glutes more?). I know I can't fat reduce…
  • Most of my snacks are between 100-300 but some things I eat that should be within that range if you get your proportions right: - Small bananas - Medium sized apples - Crackers - Tofu and low-sodium soy sauce/sriracha - Popcorn - Egg whites with some cheese Best of luck! I love snacking so I reduce servings in my…
  • I can definitely lessen pilates. Now, I use it mostly as a less intense CrossFit/strength training since I don't have weights at home. I exhaust pretty quickly when I lift (might be because I see these huge guys lifting at the gym and I'm this short girl that's taking up space in the weights area so I might be getting too…
  • I'm actually in the group already! The pictures are because I don't want people to be able to just search me up, I have a few birth marks that are clear indicators that it's me, and I have a traditional family. @psuLemon my workouts in a week usually look like this: - CrossFit 1-2x - Pilates 2-3x (I do a 15-20m jog as warm…
  • Hoping someone can help me out here! I'm starting a very light/casual/slow recomp because I've been noticing my legs are getting too big for my shorts. In need of advice for things to tweak, remove, or add in my current workout and eating habits. I'm not really rushing to lose weight or anything as I'm quite happy with my…
  • Scorpion (cheer pose) on both legs. I was once able to do it with my more flexible leg but I can’t even split anymore.
  • I do pilates! You could also make a list of ab moves that don’t strain your hip by searching up the specific muscles used in every move. Then make your own abs circuit.
  • Any time I sleep, 10PM, 2AM, 6AM, whatever, I will no fail wake up by 8AM. I’ve just accepted it but it totally sucks if I’ve gone out the night before.
  • The quality of the buffet that matches the quality of a regular meal is at least twice more, so I really don’t get my money’s worth. I’d have to overeat to get my money’s worth and I don’t like doing that.
  • Well actually it’s because I’m physically small (5”0) and can only eat so much. I literally cannot get my money’s worth in a buffet, even if I workout prior or skip a meal so that I’m extra hungry. Buffet’s where I’m from are 2-5x the price of a good, regular meal. I’m a cheap date because I’m satisfied by small to regular…
  • Sorry this is what I meant :) just didn’t explain it properly. I meant that you could have lost the weight from exercise and been gaining muscle on your stomach area from working out that area. The fat loss might just be more obvious in your stomach area but it’s total body.
  • This^ and I think the fat might have just converted to muscle and vice versa. Some people can gain weight and look even skinnier and more fit than before!
  • That honestly sucks! It can be so discouraging when someone makes a negative comment but when that happens to me, I just think about how that’s a reflection on THEIR character (no offense to your grandma or anything but that’s mean). I think your motivation to work out and be fit is your personal victory regardless of how…
  • “Do something fun.” Used to be a 400m sprinter in high school but I hated the shin splints, the pressure of competitions, the last 100m of the sprint, and training in the heat. It messed up my attitude towards exercise my first two years in college. Now I do pilates and CrossFit. I swim and spin for fun sometimes. I’ve…
  • When I know I won’t have time to eat before class, I make a pre-blended breakfast shake (basically my regular breakfast blended) 1 banana 1/2 cup oatmeal 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup of black tea (I seep one bag in 1/2 cup water) 1 tbsp. pb And some cinnamon and cayenne pepper Sometimes I mix it up by adding 1/2 tbsp. chia seeds…
  • You could try seeing a doctor in case there’s a medical issue involved. Maybe you’re eating maintenance? I’ve been seeing that people weigh their food to ensure that they’re eating the exact amount of calories. Also, maybe you could try changing up your workout routine? Doing something new and fun might help push you…
  • I’m horribly emotional a day or two before. If I don’t work out the day before or the day of, I cramp on my first day. Appetite-wise, I have cravings and do tend to have a cheat meal (pizza, really saucy pasta, or burger) once or twice while I’m on my period. It only lasts for 4 days though, so it’s not that much of a…
