My advice is you should not quit your job, grocery shop everyday, reward yourself with a bagel sandwich after shopping, and spend afternoons watching paula deen, 30 minute meals and anything on the TLC channel ( if it still exists) . I think it’s great you’re starting somewhere and realize you all need the exercise. Maybe once you get through a couple weeks, you can add in the second walk per day. They don’t have to be five miles long each. Maybe find a dog park so they can have a longer stretch of exercise on the weekend.

You should probably post this on the C2 site for better info, but I’ve always been in the understanding that you make things more challenging by pushing harder with your legs, even in a low stroke rate. Not “ faster”. I’m new to rowing as well, so i could be wrong.

I don’t know if it’s real rucking, but I’ve got a twelve pound railroad plate I put in my pack when I hike, no mountains here, mainly hilly woods and flats. One to theee hours at a time . Thinking about adding weight to the pack as I lose. Got lots to go.
