  • That’s such an annoying feeling! My advice would be to either increase your output (more steps, more cardio in the training, more calories burnt) or decrease your input (bump your daily calories down by 100 and see how you get on with it)
  • I weigh myself every day and log it, so I can see trends such as weight gain when it’s around my time of the month etc. what I really go by is how my clothes fit. I will always have an item of clothing that just doesn’t fit well and each month I will try it back on again
  • Hiya, on average 10k steps burns 500 calories. I wear a fit bit and it tracks my steps and calories burnt, I then manually enter it into my fitness pal
  • It’s an interesting topic for sure. I keep telling myself to start caring less what people think of me, but I do struggle. I like to be liked. And when ever I speak to people I am so careful with what I say and how I come across as I don’t want them to dislike me. I really do admire people who don’t care about what others…
  • Hey :) I’m currently working with a coach now! I’ve lost 5lbs in a month, and I find it really motivating having someone hold you accountable and answer all of my questions. When I stop training with him I do tend to keep it up, as you develop good habits, but for me I need to have someone hold me accountable or else I…
  • I feel your frustration :( I find that it can be things like menstrual cycles that impact me. I can have such a good day, and go to bed feeling really great but have gained weight! I think it’s all just normal and nothing to be concerned with. Don’t let it dishearten you too much :) I weigh myself every single day, fasted,…
  • I find that I’m not a morning person at all! And usually I don’t end up having enough food prior to a morning workout to fuel me, so I end up feeling really fatigued! I guess it doesn’t really matter what time of day you train, a workout is a workout … best thing to do is train at a time that suits you best (plus I find…
  • Hey :) it’s always so hard trying to figure out what your calories should be! I’m 5ft6, and 10 stone and I’m currently losing 1lb a week by sticking to around 1550 calories per day. My suggestion for you would be to increase your output a little, maybe extend your 30 min walk to 60? You could break that down into two walks…
  • Be consistent! I lost just under 2 stone at the start of last year and the main thing for me was being consistent with my calories, macros and workout plans. If you make your exercise and foods fun, then you will not feel like your dieting. I love finding new macro friendly recipes and new workout plans. Try not to compare…
  • Self care is so important in times like this! For me I start the morning with simply making my bed, opening up the blinds and getting dressed (instead of being in pjs all day) I feel like this really starts me off on a positive note! Then I’ll do an hours walk each evening or 30 mins of jogging (lots of stopping as I hate…
  • I always think that lifting weights is the best solution, you burn more calories weight training than you do cardio for example, and you can do high reps to get a good cardio fix whilst also building that muscle which will give you the more defined features
  • My advice would be to eat a healthy meal before you go and just go for drinks? I can’t imagine anything being healthy there so if your not willing to make it a “cheat day” then steer away
  • I haven’t ever looked into a selfie or the reasoning behind it. To me it’s just a photograph you’ve had to take yourself .. any filters or edits just enhance it slightly
  • Pet peeves .. hmmmm . Travelling by train - people shutting your window without asking .. people eating smelly food . Navigating the streets - people who just suddenly stop (I deliberately send them packing) or people who walk looking down at their phone so you have to break dance around them ... . Photoshop .. it’s…
  • I get your first point, yes I sort of contradicted myself there whoops .. but the reason I find it scary that these diet sodas can raise insulin levels (if only drank in large quantities and certainly not for just one or two a day) Is that too much insulin can lead to serious health problems. Having high levels, also known…
  • I’ve read it a few times on various websites and forums, I read that they made people drink Diet Coke and normal coke in some expeiriment and those drinking Diet Coke has raised insulin levels which is a scary though!
  • I don’t think there is any evidence to suggest that it’s bad for you, but in my opinion diet sodas are pumped with artificial sweeteners which if you drank a lot of can increase your insulin levels which could lead to weight gain. If you drink it moderately then you’ll be absolutely fine
  • Good luck with your weight loss journey!! Your in the right headspace now and you will absolutely smash it! I find it really helps to log everything I eat and to continue to be mindful of what I am eating .. I am to eat two carb meals a day (like rice, potatoes, cous cous) I avoid bread and pasta, cut right back on alcohol…
  • I only found this out this year and I’ve had it for ages!!
  • I guess it’s ok in moderation, unless your lactose intolerance or vegan I can’t see any harm in having a cup of milk a day
  • I found this article in the news which may be worth a read https://www.google.com/amp/www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-4533692/amp/Starvation-mode-DOES-exist-Brain-stops-burning-fat.html Your condition sounds really uncomfortable I feel for you! I think it would be best for you to speak to a specialist who can really…
  • I am up early in the mornings to go and work on an office until late, by the time I get home I am exhausted and starving. But I mentally force myself into the gym .. I take pre workout if I’m feeling particularly tired and this helps me to stay alert. I find that once I’m in the gym I love it and spend a while in there and…
  • Hey, so I train at a gym. I have some weeks where I will lift heavier and less reps, and other days where I want to do about 15 reps on a lighter weight. Squats - from around 88lbs up to 132lbs Deadlifts - from around 88lbs up to 176lbs Single arm bent over row - 39lbs per hand Shoulder press (keep it light to prevent…
  • What I find works for me is weight training 3-4 times a week, cardio once a week (usually boxing) and then trying to stick to around 1200 calories a day. I can have treats etc but I choose them wisely and have a list of all my favourite foods! Saying no to office cakes and biscuits, trying to switch to herbal teas (finding…
  • I think body building isn’t bad for society. I actually think it looks amazing! I think it’s down to every individual person and their self esteem/insecurities .. I follow a lot of body building woman on Instagram to motivate myself to train hard and eat well. I find their images extremely motivating therefore having a…
  • Keto diets are known to be low in carbs .. that’s not me being narrow minded that’s me identifying an example of a diet which is low in carbs .. I plucked the keto diet out of air as an example of something people follow to reduce their carb intake, I can see that lately it’s become quite a well known diet plan so just…
  • I did try fasted cardio once and I felt violently sick during and after. I spent the rest of that day feeling weirdly hungover and have never done it since. I always make sure that I eat something before exercising like a protein shake or banana as it helps to keep my energy levels up
  • My point is just to show the cons of energy drinks sugar free or full of sugar, they come with bad potential side effects which is why I cut them out ... and yes I think people should avoid eating peanuts in public places encase someone who is allergic is nearby .. but that’s a whole different topic
  • An article in the bbc quoted that big manufacturers were creating sugar free versions as “They don't want their customers to have to fork out more for their favourite soft drinks from 6 April” which is when our sugar tax came into play
