  • Hey, @vanmep, I'm not laughing! :) I do Jane Fonda's LEAN Routine and her Lower Body Workout, adapting them so they're both low impact to protect my knees. I also do a Barre video and Yoga for Seniors (which, I reluctantly admit I am).
  • Lost 8.5 pounds in 4 months. I'd like to get to an even 10 pounds by the end of January.
  • Congrats on all your hard work! You look fabulous!
  • @AnnPT77 Wow, that thread on NEAT was very informative! Thanks! Yes, I've read that strength training could help and I've started doing weights more frequently. Maybe I can try eating more protein, too. Food (heh heh) for thought! @nooshi713 Trust me, nobody takes pride in maintaining at a low level. I WISH my maintenance…
  • @Strudders67 Thanks for your reply. Congrats on your accomplishment! I don't think I've ever weighed 103. My ultimate goal is about 115-120, which is in the middle of the normal BMI range. But I'd be thrilled to get to 130. I'm 140 now, and it was hard work to get there. What kind of exercise did you do when you were…
  • Oh, I want to add that I'm not miserable or starving on 850 calories. I never let myself get "hangry." I eat mindfully so I'm enjoying what I eat and stop when I'm satisfied--well, most of the time. When I reach my goal weight I'll certainly increase my calorie count for maintenance. I take vitamins and Omega 3.
  • @claireychn074 Thanks for your answer. Now I have to look up what NEAT IS... Everybody else, thanks for answering my question, which was really a survey to help me find out whether I'm an oddball. Guess I'm an official freak! B)
  • Thanks for your answers. I guess that's one of the joys of getting to this age! As an older, short woman my metabolism probably isn't as high as most other people. That's why I wondered what shorter women really do, as opposed to what's recommended. I've been eating lots of fruit and vegetables, and quality protein. I was…
  • I've only lost 7 pounds since September and have a way to go, but I've noticed that I get cold and have to wear a jacket indoors sometimes. But on the bright side, I'm more flexible and can pick things up off the floor more easily.
  • Wow! You are amazing and inspiring. Thanks for sharing this.
  • My formerly too tight jeans are now my stay-up-only-because-of-the-belt jeans. My Fitbit needs to be another notch tighter. My resting heart rate has lowered.
  • You look FABULOUS! Congrats! What did you do to get these great results and how long did it take?
  • I'm 5'1" and 70. My goal weight is 115, which is in the middle of normal BMI. Haven't weighed anywhere near that since 2002, when I hit menopause. I've lost 12 pounds in the past year, gained a few back, so it's time to start anew. This time I'm going to make it.
  • My resting heart rate has gone down, so presumably I'm a little fitter. Also I had to stop wearing my comfy jeans because they got a hole in the knee. Not being able to shop for new jeans, I tried a pair that had been too tight in the waist. They now fit perfectly. In fact, I need to wear a belt to keep them up!
  • Lost an inch off my waist! No wonder my formerly favourite jeans are now too loose, and my formerly too-tight jeans now fit perfectly!
  • My comfortable, relaxed fit jeans are way too loose and would fall down without a belt. They're looking pretty worn and I can't go to a store yet to buy new ones. So I decided to try on another pair (the same size) that always were too tight at the waist. They now fit better than the relaxed pair!
  • My charm bracelet, which I couldn't take off without opening the clasp, is now so loose it can slip off if I'm not careful. Yah for thin wrists! I'm usually exercising 5-6 days a week, although less often if my knees hurt. According to my Fitbit Alta HR, which registers heart rate, I've lowered my resting heart rate from…
  • I'd like to get to 140 by April 1.
  • I've had a cold for the past three days and haven't exercised. Challenge starting weight: 150 Challenge goal: 146 Ultimate goal: 115ish 9/27: 150 10/4: 150.5 (yes, it went up) 10/11: 148.5 (but this was because I had a major tummy upset and couldn't eat properly) (also, I'm in the 140s!) 10/18: 148 10/25: 147 (I'm so…

  • I needed to tighten my Fitbit a notch. And the same for my belt buckle. (The new, smaller-sized belt.) I take my rings off at night so they don't fall off in bed.
  • Good for all of you on your progress, or for your attempts at progress. I can't find my original post, but here's an update. • A friend of our parents, who didn't really know either of us, set us up on a blind date. Aside from "Hi, how are you," the woman and I had had only one real conversation, about an artist. She thought that I was "interested in art" (not true at the time.) I liked writing and theatre and he liked music, so it was more like…
