  • I like a medium roast. I grind just enough beans and either use a French press or stove top percolator. I had a pinch of salt before brewing because Alton Brown said to and he is my kitchen god.
  • Zumba 2-4 times a week Squats, pushups, bridges, and crunches 5 times a week Hiking 1-2 times a week Running 2-3 times a week Daily walks
  • I want to continue being the hot mom. Seriously. It feels good to be mistaken as my teenagers older sister. I have never veered past a healthy weight but was getting close to the upper BMI for my height. That and I like being able to say I can still fit my old uniforms.
  • I’d definitely call the office for clarification.
  • Rice with beans. Throw some salsa on top with a fried egg and some cheese. We eat a lot of brown rice so usually have some in the fridge. I prefer to cook dry beans, but keep a few cans of beans on hand if I don’t have time to cook them (I use a crockpot, it takes about 8 hours and you don’t have to soak the beans first).
  • Another vote for budgetbytes.com. My kids love the chicken teriyaki skewers and coconut rice.
  • Artificial sweeteners. They give me migraines and have a weird aftertaste. Even ones like Splenda are gross.
  • If it’s within my calorie goal, I eat it. I allow for special occasions where I know I’ll eat beyond my allowance, but they are rarities. I have a sweet tooth, so if I’m going to have dessert I just budget it in.
  • I was in the military when my oldest two were born and had to meet weight and fitness standards by 6 months postpartum. I did so both times while breastfeeding. I focused on getting lots of fruits and vegetables as well as proteins in combination with strength and cardio. It’s possible. I was told that breastfeeding…
  • I’m 6’ with a goal weight of 150. I started at 178 which isn’t overweight for my height, but my clothes were getting tight and I was not going to buy a new wardrobe due to something I can control. 150 is where I was when I felt my best. The only other weight I’d be okay with comes with a caveat. I wouldn’t mind 180, which…
  • I’m 6’ and at 160 am not out of my healthy range. I’m working on losing weight because I’m above the where I personally think that I look and feel my best. There’s nothing wrong with lowering weight just to feel better about how you look in clothes. Assuming you’re doing it in a healthy manner, it’s completely legitimate.
  • I’ve kept my hair short for years with the occasional grow out to donate it. I have an angular face and love that short hair highlights it. I’m also more likely to wear bold statement jewelry, dresses, or makeup with short hair because I feel more confident in myself.
