Doesn't MFP have a minimum of 1500 calories (more if you exercise) per day for men?

"You eat dessert?" Well, yes, not as often, and usually smaller portions, but heck yeah! "What have you been doing? Keno?" Nope, not Keno, or Bingo, or Keto 🙂. Just eating less calories than I use, mostly by portion control.

At work, yes, but I only used the boss in the hypothetical scenario to inject the "what if I got caught saying this by someone whose reaction could impact me" possibility. If I wouldn't want my spouse/minister/child/neighbor whoever to overhear me speaking that way, maybe i should keep the thought to myself. When talking…

I'm not trying to derail the thread 🙂. Someone who had lost weight got a comment about a body part that they weren't used to getting comments about. They felt both flattered and uncomfortable. Was the comment appropriate? Was the discomfort more due to them not being used to anybody noticing them, the comment a socially…

Hypothetical scenario: You are at a social work event. An attractive person walks by. You remark: "wow, fantastic _______" Fill in the blank with whatever: smile, hair arms, bottom, boobs. Unbeknownst to you, your boss is in earshot. Your boss says: "that's my 16 year old son/daughter." Was your boss smiling or angry? Any…

Parents have to teach toddlers about keeping their "private parts" private and to tell us whenever someone violates that privacy (even when they are told not to tell anyone). Arms and heads/hair were never on the list of "private parts". Butts were.

Enjoy that garlic donut then! 😉

Reese's pieces, presumably.

Not enough warning for those pics @missjck2 ! I would suggest using the spoiler next time!

2 weeks may not be long enough for visible results that you can document from one angle. Stick with it, consistent effort will pay off!

From the Home screen, try the bell on the top right to see if you have any weekly digests you can open from your Notifications.

Hopefully there's an accurate scale at a gym or doctor's office you can use to validate the accuracy of your new scale? In my case, the new scale was accurate, but weighed me about 6 lbs heavier than the old scale, which still worked. I had months of losing logged from the old scale, and it was the continuing trend that…

Don't try to lose those last 9 lbs in 3 weeks, it can't be done safely. Set your goal for a half pound per week.

I don't weigh my food, but I track on holidays. Last Thanksgiving i was more than 550 calories over my goal for the day, and enjoyed every last bit of it with no guilt. Probably stayed over my goals until the pie was gone 😁🥧 but eventually got back to tracking accurately enough to resume my gradual weight loss trend. I'm…

I see your problem with your first attempt: as an aspiring vegan you should have gone cold tofurky.

Ask your doctor about the dizziness. I don't know what "doing too much" might be for you, but I could do plenty before I left the obese BMI behind, without getting dizzy.

Would wearing a chunky cuff bracelet or chunky ring on that side help remind you to think twice about certain movements?

I would look for art projects that appeal to her creative side AND get her outdoors. She could collect stones or shells to use in a stepping stone, or all sorts of natural items to create a fairy garden. Sidewalk chalk, or sidewalk chalk paint and just about any surface... she could pick plants for a container garden and…

I think you said it very well: if you replied with the bolded, what could they say? If they continue to insist, maybe add: "please don't make me go to Human Resources."

See your doctor. If it is glandular tissue, reducing your body fat percentage is unlikely to help.

QFT! I just had to stop my husband from leaving the house with his tie hanging way past his belt. His neck and belly have shrunk so much, he definitely needs to start by leaving a longer tail. Maybe he can shop the normal length tie selection now, instead of limiting himself to the ties that come with extra length.

Put it in perspective: keep that up for 5 days in a row and you might gain a pound, assuming you were 700 calories over maintenance. No big deal! Look forward to that Monday weigh in with confidence that the enjoyment and celebration will barely have caused a blip.

You say don’t really care for the fast food. Newsflash: you literally can stop ordering those cheeseburgers (or anything else that’s unhealthy). You have the power. Use it. Spend the lunchtime with your husband but bring the food you choose to eat.

Try logging it BEFORE you eat it. Sometimes that'll give you enough time to decide whether it's worth it, or if swapping out for another choice (e.g. a handful of grapes) will satisfy the urge for a treat while better supporting your goals.

Will your kids go trick or treating? The elementary school my kids went to would have an annual parade where the kids would carry a favorite book dressed up as their favorite character. You could dress up to hand out treats. I made several costumes when my kids were young and kind of miss those days!

This topic just makes me want to post a link to Maya Angelou's Phenomenal Woman: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/48985/phenomenal-woman I’m a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That’s me.

If there is a next time time, ask him to repeat what he said because you would not want to misquote him when you report it to HR. You should not have to put up with that kind of crap at work!

Drinking slower is a good idea, especially if you have lost significant weight since your last party. You may be surprised how much more you feel a 2nd or 3rd drink now!

If you know any home brewers, see if you can get some of their PBW to try. That stuff is magic.
