South West England here - just about to move from 2 into 3. Cheers Steve

To be honest at 140 and 5'11 you've got plenty of headroom... what's probably more important is the rate of gain. If you go at it too fast you will gain mostly fat which will have to come off later. Aim for about 1kg per month and you should be good.

Your knees must love you :) Great job!

BMI is a crude yardstick and doesn't distinguish between the weight of muscle and fat... so yes you can have a "normal" BMI but have low muscle levels and high(er) fat %. Equally, you can have very low body fat levels and high muscle levels and come out as overweight on the BMI scale.

I'm using a lot of my home made version of Emeril's Essence - mixed with lean pork mince it makes a mean sausage patty.

ISTP-T checking in here. I'll be over in the corner if anyone wants me...

Actually, the first comments people started making to me were about how "healthy" I looked - weight loss comments followed a while after that. It was as if they could see something about me was changing but weren't sure quite what it was at first.
-
Well done you - it doesn't matter how much you have to go because you have proven that you can do it... and over time you will get to where you want to be. That's such a mean spirited comment for someone to have made - my guess is they are uncomfortable with some aspect of your positive changes.

Aaahhh makes sense (slaps forehead!) thank you. I'm sure you'll crush your goal in no time :)

I know I'm going to sound dim here (nothing unusual there I hear you say)... but what is onederland?

The most patronising comment for me was when someone simply said "That's enough now."

I would honestly not have believed that the pictures were the same person. You've done an amazing job and have every right to feel proud.

I'd say your trainer has got it about right for your goals - the missing bit is your consistency and time. Those are what will bring change and there's no quick fix. Body composition machines are notoriously inaccurate, rely more on the mirror and measurements of key body parts. Stick with it and let it happen.

Sriracha Hot Sauce. I reckon I could literally eat anything if I had enough hot sauce :D

Hubba Hubba - that's more than just a good job! Amazing transformation well done.

The smile on your face in the second pic says it all :) Well done - you're doing great!

Hi - I'm in a similar boat and meal prep for myself to make it happen (reduces temptation to go rogue/off plan with food).

Yes - I grew up on Pratchett and through the whole of my teen years through to adulthood I looked forward to a new book each year. I know it's a bit peculiar/nerdy but I decided I would never read The Shepherd's Crown... that way I will always have one more Pratchett left to read. Sorry to go off topic.

With a kettle and stock cube :D Honestly, I'm no whizz in the kitchen. Google "vegetable crumble" and you'll get loads of ideas - they're a bit like soups, as in you can use whatever you have to hand and it will turn out great.

A target of 1% of your body weight per week is more ideal since you will lose less muscle mass at that speed - yes it will be slower but you should be able to avoid the "skinny-fat" trap that way. Of course it's horses for courses and you are in control of the process and can ultimately set a pace that suits you. Much of…

I love savory crumbles and used to batch cook a big tray at a time - crumbled walnuts in the topping were an especially delicious treat. Basically I took whatever beans I had and diced up any root veggies and chucked it in with some stock, then topped it and bunged it into the oven. It doesn't get much easier. Very easy to…

My favourite author is Terry Pratchett - and my favourite quote from him is "Inside every old person is a young person wondering what happened." The older I get, the more I understand what he meant.
-
If by that you mean "Can I still make newbie gains?" the answer is most definitely yes - if you haven't been lifting hard and consistently while eating right you will be fine once you get all those things dialed in.

She fishes and has cake in her username - seems like crush material.

Great job - well done! Personally I'd spend some time eating at maintenance after a long cut and dramatic loss like that - that will let you figure out the upper and lower calorie range that you maintain at. This will let your body adapt after a long deficit as well as giving you a chance to accurately decide where to take…

Water weight most likely. Also, you can see significant variations at different times of day. It's best to choose a time and stick with it (lots of people do it first thing in the morning). To be honest I don't even look at the scale more than weekly because these daily fluctuations can mess with your motivation - for me I…

Wait - you need a license for a g-string? Who would've thought  I got my user name because... I couldn't think of a user name
