  • Thanks so much. And I will. I appreciate the kind words! And great work to you!
  • Yes, that is correct- that’s why I’m trying to get to my leanest before I begin the bulking process. Because when one is at their ideal body fat percentage and they bulk, adding weight, it’s not atop fat that should/could be lost before. That’s my point.
  • Hi, thank you. I will continue to do this - been doing this religiously - have two scales and count everything
  • Well I will answer that based on the research and knowledge previously shared with me. It has been suggested that you reach your ideal body weight before bulking. Again, this is what I have been told, so I may be wrong. But the way it was put is that if you’re not at your ideal body weight percentage and you begin to bulk,…
  • Thanks for all of the great advice! I will certainly look at the suggested items too. I appreciate all of this.

  • You and me both. I am just gonna have to ramp up the exercise- that’s all I can do. Maybe to help speed the metabolism some more - we will get through it - for sure

  • About two months. And MFP adjusted to this automatically as you know it does. And I even went in and changed it around to make sure it updated based on my stats

  • Thanks man, I really appreciate this.
  • That makes sense. I get that - I just don’t want to gain a lot of weight (fat) back. So I didn’t know if there was a method to stabilize or reduce the risk of that. Can you tell me when you are gaining (during your months of building) how much weight you add on?
  • Well that’s well said and simple. I like it. Keep it real and simple. That’s a good point. Thanks man
  • Thanks a lot man I appreciate it - am going to check them out today
  • You are right and I’m beginning to see that. Better word “accept” that. I think for me the organic vs non is I went clean about two years ago without eating processed foods and cut sugars, etc. that alone produced a 18 pound weight loss. I have since come off of all medications and I am no longer prediabetic - I had seen a…
  • You make me smile. Your story is amazing and your determination and willingness to achieve are going to take you even further. I can do nothing but wish you continued success. Great work!
  • You have done an amazing job. Good for you! Keep it up.
  • Congrats! And never give up. Doing the right thing is never easy. But you got this!
  • Awesome! Thank you for sharing your story, that’s amazing!
  • Great work! You must feel amazing inside and out!
  • It’s an amazing feeling isn’t it! Good job.
  • Well written my friend. I love the attitude and presentation- that is a great way of thinking. I think what’s nice to hear is that we are not alone and all at one time or another have battled with the beginning stages of calorie cutting and really monitoring it all. Sometimes it’s just a breath of fresh air to hear…
  • I agree. I cannot do the breads, chips, crackers etc. for the same reasons you mentioned. I am instantly hungry if I do that. I will need to switch things up a bit and add a little more to sustain me (fats, proteins) in my breakfast especially. I just bought my food scale yesterday and I think that will help also because I…
  • You will be happy to know I purchased my food scale yesterday :) I know for certain I need that. And I do agree... the cups I had were causing me the same issue. And you’re also right about the mental part. It does take that mind over matter philosophy to do this successfully for sure. Thank you. I greatly appreciate your…
  • Oh yes, tons of water 120 ounces or more per day
  • I think that is some of the issue. Yesterday I sat down and really looked at some of that in more detail and am switching it up a bit. I also sat down and picked out a lot of veggies that I like and researched the calories of each. I was able to plan larger meals with fewer calories to accommodate some of the issue. My…
  • I agree with most of what's been said already. Watch your calories, and at the same time, reduce your sugars. I am one that feels better when I eat less sugary items. And once you clean your diet and attempt to go back to the sugars, it won't taste the same. At least for me it didn't. I cannot stand anything to sweet now.…
  • I appreciate this. You are right. I have been told by doctors, etc. watch the sugar, etc. Calories are not really that important it's the "type" of calories you are eating... yeah.. that's not been working for me. So I get you. That makes perfect sense. I am starting to get the hang of it and like many things, changing my…
  • Thank you. I cannot tell you enough how much it means that you just take the time to respond. I understand your stance on Gatoraid* and I don't like it anyway, I was just considering it as a carb booster. However, I think after discussing with you, I too may stick to food for this need. I would love to know your Kung Pau…
  • Interesting. Thank you for the feedback. Last time I had my bloodwork done it was all in normal ranges. (iron/potassium). I will have it checked again in a month or so. I know I need to add add'l carbs to my daily meals because that has been too low for too long. I am learning this now. I think I am going to take the…
  • Thank you for the awesome feedback. For the research and taking the time to respond. I have been studying since the post and did read a lot about the carbs/lifting/energy piece. I have rearranged some things and found that my ideal caloric intake is about the same is yours. I have now readjusted and am trying to stay…
  • That’s a good and valid point as well. Thank you.
  • Fair point. Didn’t think of that. Still trying to figure all of this out. I will take a closer look. Thanks!
