Egg Mcmuffin. Delicious and 300 calories,

Dietary cholesterol limiting was a medical mistake. They are trying to put a pretty face on it by saying that there may be some therapeutic benefit, but the harm has been done. Good cholesterol, HDL, has been lost to millions. Try to avoid spreading the mistake.

Sodium is your friend. It is your electrolyte. Without it your organs die. Too much sodium to a point of danger is hard to accomplish although it can be done. Unless of course, you notice your ankles are are bigger than your thighs.

Bacon is good. Just make sure you weigh it cooked and used the cooked calories/gram reference. About 40% of the calories of raw bacon are left in the pan.

4% actual 30 % believe. Today, an estimated 4 percent of American adults — or around 10 million — are believed to have food allergies. The percentage is higher for children, 5 percent or more, although many kids will outgrow allergies to milk, egg, wheat, and soy. The other four biggies — peanuts, tree nuts, fish, and…

Do you know what the word "most" means?
-
You support my point exactly. Peanut allergy is serious, obvious and dangerous. There may be persons with mild symptoms. I have never heard of them but as I said above, they may exist, just a very small number. And, I am sorry for your burden. You are well qualified to speak to this.
-
Thanks so much. I agree with you completely. In fact, the reason for my comment was that my allergist told me that there is a very, very small number of people who are "mildly" allergic to anything. You are or you aren't for the most part. Most everyone's bee sting and poison ivy looks about the same. People with peanut…

Most food "allergies" are psychosomatic. And, no one ever gained 5 pounds from eating a tomato. You might have temporarily retained a few pounds of water.

Aversion and denial are the two most powerful forces on cognition. Momma honestly believes her 22 year old son with the BMW and the 22" rims who sleeps till noon has a high paying job at Starbucks. That little snack might have 100 calories, more or less. Uh huh.

If you aren't counting oil in getting to a calorie deficit you won't be doing anything but guess work. At 9 calories per gram the deficit is gone in a couple of mouthfuls. And, keto seems just ill advised to me in the first place. The whole notion of carbohydrate "triggering" is a made up theory.

You can't tell other than by taste and texture for Chinese take away. Because one can make a good fried rice with two tbsp of oil or one can easily use a third of a cup. The difference is 500 calories. You just don't know until its on your plate.
-
If someone says oil is a "free food" its a BS plan. Ignore that part and maybe you can lose some weight by getting rid of the carbs.

When I have pasta it has to be with something really delicious like a combination of shrimp and lobster or crab. Then I don't really notice that 200 calories of pasta is less than I might choose. If I add three chopped shallots, sauteed, a dozen raw frozen shrimp and a teaspoon of lobster base I am still under 400…

stovetop popped corn - Pam only. Pork rinds. Dates. Raspberries and strawberries. Goldfish.

How do you get to 1200 calories? Is it 600 calories of olive oil + pasta?
-
Pasta is fine. Once a week for me. I usually get by with 56g but push it to 83 when I don't have a lot of lobster to go in the dish. If its just red sauce, skip the olive oil and it has about no calories. If its shrimp or crab I just double or triple up on it. Its pretty hard to eat 150 calories of shrimp in a pasta dish.…

I have chocolate most days. Just not very much. 150 calories maybe with ice cream 250. There is always tomorrow. Something to look forward to.
-
Its not that simple. Most fats are your friend. Consult a nutritionist.

What matters is where it comes from. Fish from Canada, USA, North Atlantic (Norway, Scotland, etc.) are clean, safe and healthy. Fish from Asia and South America have a big asterisk. Maybe ok. Why bother. Plenty of good choices from countries that follow the rules. Read the label for frozen. Ask the clerks in the store.

I don't eat anything after dinner which is usually around 6-7pm. This preceded my calorie counting and was due to nighttime reflux. I can tell you that if you can get to bedtime without a snack everything else seems easy. And, it usually leaves me with about 300/400/600+200 desert, for three meals and about 400 in snacks…

Dried beans, peas and natural cat food are are well prepared in a pressure vessel.

I pretty much only eat entrees with three or less ingredients. Salmon steak, sauteed in butter, oyster sauce. Shrimp steamed with lobster base on basmati rice. Dry aged burger with sauteed onions, mushrooms and grilled tomato - oops! that's 4. It happens. I pretty much never eat any frozen meals in a box although I have…

I had a canned tamale omelet today. Or, was it a crepe? Two scrambled eggs cooked in the whole skillet bottom. Not stirred. Add two canned tamales heated and seasoned with crushed red pepper. Fold over the tamales inside the eggs and pour tamale sauce on top. I know canned tamales are a really low rent food, but with…

Pulled pork not only does not absorb the beer or the OJ, but the braising renders out pork fat at 9 calories per gram. You should weigh the pulled pork as cooked, finished product and find a retail calorie quote that is similar to your homemade. Having said that, you will be within range if you use 2-2.5 calories per gram…

If you exercise to eat, I think that is a symptom of an eating disorder.

I think the answer with excess eggs is to take oneor two whole eggs and a half dozen egg whites and make a giant omelet or scramble. 17 calories per egg white. one jumbo egg 90 calories. 5 egg whites 85 calories. Monster omelet 175 calories.

You are taking health risks with such a low calorie intake. I don't exercise a tiny bit, have a great diet of wonderful foods and have lost 65 lb in 2 years.

Cold soup is the way I like them. Peel, remove seeds, and make three textures: thin sliced 1/3, finely chopped 1/3, and pureed 1/3. Add as much finely chopped fresh garlic as your GI tract can handle, salt and pepper, vegetable broth (canned) and Better than Bullion Vegetable Base. All to taste. Marinate over night in the…

Thin salmon fillets are much better sauteed than baked unless you coat the baked fillets with some type of goop. And, a lot faster. 40 calories of butter or sesame oil in a non-stick pan for two or three thin fillets, scorch both sides and cover with heat off until they break apart in the middle. About 5 minutes.
