Beans are a poor source of protein for weight loss objectives. The calories per gram of protein are multiples of seafood. Cost is the only reason to look to beans for protein.

Relax. Unless you are eating there every day it won't matter. Remember if takes 3500 calories to gain or lose a pound. So if your Pho has 1000 calories instead of 300, it contributes little to your plan.

Well, I know from reading your posts before that you have, let us say, a "tolerant" palate. Lucky you. For my part, I really like food in my meals as opposed to protein powder. Hence, the recommendation of shrimp. I try to eat a pound of lump crab and a pound of shrimp every week. Plus a little halibut and cod and every…

The kebab will be 300 calories more or less (250-350) unless it was made with chicken which would be a shame. The fries depend upon how they are cooked. If deep fried, see a major chain as recommended above.

None of the above. In soup, it matters what they did with the fat. You don't know and won't know that. For my part, I skim some of the fat off of soup made with meat that has fat. At 100 calories per tbsp, its all about the fat.

Wrong again. The OP said chicken breast which USDA says is 7% fat.
-
I've been putting pitted dates on my lunch meat sandwiches (I use scorched tortilla - not bread). They are more digestible than pickles and add in interesting taste.

There are no fillers. Try reading the label.

Not so. More than 50% of fat is removed from turkey, 66% from chicken.Tiny amount of turkey broth and some preservatives added. Its all about the fat. Try reading up on it.

I don't think the OP's question has anything to do with vegan unless "cutting down on meat" is a new approach. /s Point is that she said landlocked was a reason for not swapping in seafood which is the obvious choice for a non=vegan seeking to reduce meat consumption. And, flash frozen seafood products are safer and…

No wonder people have trouble losing weight. Swapping out meat for protein powder and beans?
-
Shrimp is the best protein replacement for meat.

Deli sliced turkey, chicken and ham has most of the fat removed in processing.

The ingredients have to be separately weighed as they go in. Because everything has a different calories count per gram. This becomes a "Recipe" in MFP lingo. You now have total calories for the pot. After cooking, you estimate the volume of the cooked product in fluid oz (US) and that becomes the total number of servings…

Sodium is your electrolyte. Without it your organs fail. So, low sodium diets should be carefully planned and monitored. If your doctor hasn't put that in place, shame on him. With sodium, lower is only better when you don't go below about 1200mg. Safest low sodium diet is 2000mg. So follow the advice above for a nutrition…

Never use raw unless you are gonna drink the fat from the skillet or save the fat from the grill and eat it. Otherwise you are logging calories you did not eat. Of course, if you are using the ground beef in a dish like Lasagna, you should weigh it raw.

Perhaps I should have been more articulate. Eating what one loves is the reason we are here in the first place. Loving what we eat after adjusting to more sensible food choices is what brings us serenity. I love my new foods.

Large is the smallest egg I can get at U.S. Krogers. they have Extra Large and Jumbo.
-
My tip is to love what you eat. I wasn't a fan of shrimp or halibut or ahi tuna until I learned how to cook them. Today, I would rather have an ahi tuna steak seared in butter (1 pat) and dolloped with oyster sauce, than a rib eye. Calories difference = tuna is 450 lower. today, I'd rather have a bowl of fresh raspberries…

Soft but entirely browned.

Raspberries, blackberries and blueberries.

Raw, tail on frozen shrimp. 100g has about 30g protein, 120 calories. I sprinkle them with crushed red pepper flakes and steam them only until opaque pink, and add them to a salad or low calorie tortilla wrap.

There was once a commercial for cooking oil where they deep fried a loaf of bread and claimed to have only used one tablespoon of oil.

Since is seems a non-serious thread, here's some actual science: First, the problem with deep frying in water is that the water will only reach 100 C more or less and then it turns to steam. Cooking breaded french fries at 100 C isn't going anywhere. A pressure vessel solves this problem. You can absolutely deep fry…

Ride it out. Don't change anything.

One has to make room for new people in ones life. People who repeatedly make me feel bad can still be good people, and they can have good friends - just not me. I would not hesitate to move on. And, let them move on.
-
I like this topic. First, you have to teach people how to treat you. Second, some people are unteachable. And, a crisis is often a venue for identifying those people. Finally, you have to make room for new people in your life. The unteachable ones will provide that room if you let them . . . go.

MFP entries are a total mess. Most are wrong. All they have to do is drop the entries that are unused just like they do on your "recent" entries and all the bad ones would eventually disappear.

That's why there is a separate category for rotisserie chicken. Not only is it light and dark, but there is skin and seasoning. Use the blended rate unless you are removing the breasts without skin. Nothing can be more accurate.

Weigh rotisserie chicken in bag - record weight place chicken on plate eat desired amount return chicken, bones and parts not eaten to bag weigh rotisserie bag log difference
