Also, play with your macros. I find that a high protein diet keeps me feeling fuller for longer.

It’s helpful because I’m not hungry in the morning so I just skip breakfast. You still have to be in a calorie deficit though to lose weight.

It’s really up to you. Maybe eat a bit more at work to hold you over until after the gym? I can’t workout with a full stomach so I usually eat after I’ve worked out.
-
Okay, I’ll bite. What happens if you eat 2-3 hours before sleeping?

That’s a no from me. I feel bad for the people who’ve gone in debt with that business.

Like I mentioned in your other post, follow an actual lifting program. It’s personally more enjoyable for me to have a plan going into the gym every week instead of just winging it. You can measure progress a lot better than just spinning your wheels.

Be in a calorie deficit, eat .6g of protein per lb of weight, and hit the gym using a weight lifting program. You basically want to try to maintain as much muscle that you have. I suggest checking out Strong Curves since you’re suggesting keeping the thickness and it’s very glute focused. With that said, fat will come off…

I’m sorry you’re feeling burned out. Diet break while at Disney sounds great! Maybe reevaluate, after you diet break, what your goals are. Do exercise you look forward to and be in a reasonable calorie deficit (.5/week). If you’re getting irritable, it may be because your diet is too restrictive or your deficit is too…

Maybe once a month. The reason was I drank a lot and got a cheeseburger and fries at 3am. Otherwise, I plan everything. If I know I’m going to dinner during the weekend, I bank 100 calories a day so it balances out. I rarely go over my calories on purpose, sometimes it just happens but it’s never a “plan on going over my…

I would suggest using a trend app called happy scale to see the moving average of your weight loss. A .5lb/week of weight loss is reasonable for 30lbs to lose. If you’ve been fluctuationing between 3-5lbs a week for 6 weeks, I assume some of that is actual fat. Although 30lbs feels like a lot, it really isn’t a massive…

2oz of pasta is sometimes worth it. I just plan it out. I haven’t had alfredo sauce in years though, I miss it so much. Also, I feel like the pasta shape makes a big difference. For example, angel hair makes me feel like I’m eating more than I am because it’s so small. Cavatappi also is pretty filling for 2oz. I stay away…

Walk. It’s easy but I always forget how much I walk when on vacation and then am super tired/sore. Also invest in good shoes, wear them before your trip so you break them in.

There isn’t one food on its own that’ll cause weight gain. Eating more calories than you burn will cause weight gain.

Protein shake with pb2.

A food scale, the MFP community, and walking will not only save you a bunch of money but will also help you build long term habits.

I skip breakfast and work out at lunch. I won’t eat until I come back usually 1230 or 1. I just prefer to workout on an empty stomach and am not hungry in the morning.

I think it’s just a lazy way to find out the lowest you can go in your deficit.
-
I’d suggest using photos to notice the differences visually. Take a photo every 10lbs or so.

Pre plan your entire day so at night you have that snack you love to look forward to. I do this with cookies and ice cream. I save 200 calories a night for a treat and it fits my goals. Also remember that your deficit to lose weight is probably 1000 (2lbs/week) - 250 (.5lbs/week) cals. If you go over by 100, you’ll still…

I have a feeling this won’t taste great but I am willing to give it a try! Thank you for sharing!!!

I just don’t feel comfortable putting the recyclable plastics into the recycling bin right now. Most of the time, it ends up in the landfill in my city.
-
I think I might be able to convert them into like a bird feeder for the spring!

I am on the lookout for them! I’ve visited a few so far with no luck.

Curious, how do you make use of the empties? I use them for some other bulk items (rice, beans) and storage (decorations, tennis balls) but I have two empties right now and I just don’t have any need for them and not sure what I can do with them.

Chicago is one of the worst cities in the US for recycling. I’d rather not purchase them because I cannot gaurentee that when I put them in the blue bin that they will get recycled. Otherwise, I would totally just recycle them!

I would consider myself a somewhat seasoned lifter but I’m still always learning about lifts and exercises. I’d suggest finding a good program (StrongLifts, Strong Curves) and use YouTube to look up the movements. You could always hire a trainer to show you some basic stuff too!

Your husband will have to learn some of these skills to get to his healthy weight. His guilt is his, you can’t control that. He can eat his favorite foods in moderation unless he is at a critical point where he shouldn’t be eating specific things than he needs to take ownership of that. Suggest everyone go for a walk after…

I honestly don’t mind that people have restrictive diets. For me, I can’t eat what I use to because it doesn’t fit my calories so I guess I am somewhat restrictive myself. The problem I have is when people don’t understand the mechanism that’s behind their weight loss. Keto for example. It’s the people who drop 15lbs in 2…
